  1. I agree with ya, It's way too soon to panic. And the coaching staff is good. But your right, we can't waste a practice even with the rain. Speaking of the rain, That canoe I found at Station Camp last year sure came in handy this weekend. No flinching here, cause like they say.... WE IS BLACKMAN!
  2. Here we is! With the overall record being a factor as to who is in the playoffs, I'd say this is a need to win game for both teams. Blackman will need to play it's best game of the year to win it. No one is looking past the mountian boys except maybe the players who were dancing on the sideline to the band, during the game last Friday night. If some major/tough changes aren't made by the Blaze coaching in all three phases of the game, This could quickly become a longgggg season for the Blaze faithfull. Go BLAZE!
  3. First of all congratulations to the Stars. The answer to your question is... The Stars as a whole are under rated. The Stars defense gave up 34 points so the word "good" may be a pushing it, but they were "good enough." The Stars coaching staff is doing a super job of mixing up the offense and using each players strength to their advantage. As I stated before the game... "The Stars are not a team to be taken lightly." Now for Blackman... At this point, clearly over rated. The defense gave up 37 points and your not going to win many games doing that. The Blaze offense had 14 first downs to the Stars 13. So it was close but Blackman's offense seemed much more predictable and somewhat limited by their lineup. Will that change? I'll have to dig out that ol Majic 8-Ball and see what it says.
  4. I agree, Oakland wins this one going away.
  5. After watching two games, I'm not sure Blackman is even the #4 team in the district. We've had poor snaps, poor blocking, weak QB play and until the last half we saw, a #4 who hasn't looked as good as he did last year. I think the young defense may be the reason we're 2 and 0. Don't take this wrong, I feel Blackman can and should be playing better than they are but let's don't put the blame on one player either. Right now (for political or other reasons)the problems may be starting at the very top. I'd love too see some changes made but last MyKidsDad told me, I'm not the coach. Go Blaze!
  6. Although I am trying to understand what your thinking, I'm having trouble understanding how the Stars knocking out what some feel to be the weakest link in the Blackman offense would help the Stars. And do you really feel like letting #4 run wild is a good game plan? The problems I'm seeing with Blackmans offense start at the snap and spreads outward. I agree the Stars have two QBs and play both while Blackman has at least three QBs and are only using one (that would fall under coaching). The players don't pick who plays. The coaches do, hopefully based on what's best for the team. Blackmans still a team the Stars better not take lightly. GO BLACKMAN
  7. I hold you to a higher standard than your last couple post. It's ok to disagree but you started this chunk. Please discuss the game. I enjoy both your ideas, and please don't believe every thing you think. GO BLAZE!
  8. I think you'll see a much improved kicking game this week as well as a young defense that continues to grow up. I also feel the scoring must be greater than 14 points this week to win and we clearly can't count on "the train" to do it all. Hopefully the first game shakes are behind us and the Blaze win big. We'll see.... GO BLACKMAN!
  9. Sorry, but the Blackman trash-talkers have moved on. By the the way, Blackmans record is 1 and 0. Just saying...
  10. Thompson played well against Riverdale and Blackman led 18-5 at one point. However, Blackmans coaching looked to have slowed down the game just before the half and only hit 4 baskets in the whole 2nd half resulting in the Blaze loss 46-37. I feel for the Blackman players as the game plan (coaching) let the team down again.
  11. I'm just glad the coach let the boys play. After holding the team back to a history making 10 point game and a 20 point loss. Someone must have pulled him aside and gave him some good advise "let the boys play". Blackman is loaded with talented basketball players. However after the 10 point game I don't expect I'll be saying the same about their basketball coach. Congrates to the boys in the win over a very good Oakland team.
  12. I agree with you, However trying to run out the clock when your team is down by 15 points is just dumb. The team was out scored 3 to 1. Do you think if they played again tonight they would use that game plan again? No shooter ever got hot by standing at half court with the ball on his hip. I think Blackman is loaded with talent. If there is one thing I've learn from watching Siegel is there are cases where it's better for the coach to sit down and let his players do what the fans came to see them do, THAT'S PLAY.
  13. Sorry, But I think you're blaming the players for a rotten game plan. This game was a example of why all other leagues have a shot clock. With this game plan your players don't get better and as you said for the fan "it's boring". If you want to point a finger in this game it should be at the head coach who made Blackman history. A 10 point game and one I'm sure his players will never forget. You can forget a 20 point loss as just a loss, but a 10 point game, NEVER.
  14. Congrats to Smyrna and good luck. I'll miss you Donkey. Thanks for the memories. I'm out'ta here Peace
  15. I agree about the hogwash. Smyrna's coach said Saturday that Bryson's ankle would not even be checked until Monday morning and/if needed at that time. I'm not buying the fracture story. And if the dude can predict when a migrain is going to hit he is way ahead of most doctors. That said, I don't think Bryson or no Bryson will have much to do with how Blackman gets ready for Smyrna. However, If Smyrna where to have to put a game plan together for a Blackman team without Mathers that's a whole different deal. Lets hope both are ready to play Friday night! If you want to be the best, BEAT THE BEST! GO BLAZE!
  16. The coach said it was a tweeked ankle and they would wait until Monday when TOA is open to see if it needs an MRI. Curently waiting on the swelling to go down.
  17. This was the post ftballkicker started the post with. Can't help but ask, How'd that work out for ya ftballkicker?
  18. Wow! I hadn't thought about that. That would be a good one too. Kinda like a District 7 Tourny Champ and State Championship all in one. All kidding aside, This is gonna be one great game next Friday
  19. I hope not, I've already purchased tickets for a game in Cookville in three weeks.
  20. Does anyone know who Blackman will play after they beat Smyrna?
  21. Think about it. Wasn't Blackman a little better than Brentwood? May not be as easy.
  22. If that's the case, Take that bag that's hanging from your backside and move it to the frontside.
  23. This is a title game. The winner will have the title "final four" I've always heard it's tough to beat a good team twice in one season. It would be hard to say Blackman isn't at least a good team
  24. Congrats to Franklin on a great season. You made it to the sweet 16 at the highest level and that's nothing to hang your head about. I'm sure a lot of young men will be very sore tomorrow and I'm thankful I didn't see any bad looking injuries tonight other than some badly broken hearts. Time will help those heal. I would sure like to see Franklin on our regular season schedule in the future. To the Blackman fans these are sill kids we're talking about. Show class and lets get ready for Smyrna. Roll Blaze Roll!
