  1. That’s been everybody’s game plan. But once the game starts, it’s like blocking a covey of quail. With that said, historically Oakland is the best at getting you outnumbered at the point of attack.
  2. I’m not sure what to expect in this one MTF. BC is a good team who may have the best player on the field tonight. They are unbeaten including four wins against mediocre murvil and Beerden teams. We never see okelund until the semis. If this is a normal okelund team, they are the favorite. If it is not, BC is tough to handle. Good luck to both teams tonight.
  3. We are down a calculus teacher and now folks wanna throw books away. It would be difficult to not offend Karen b4 that conversation was over.
  4. That’s a ridiculous post of the year nominee. Lol. Alco can’t even win the county!
  5. GQ should come home and run for mayor or school board.
  6. 100%. And they gave him some gas money as he left.
  7. It’s really crazy. I’ll continue my criticisms on athletic Directors by talking about ETSU. They made a decision to invest half of million in a Coach over a couple of years only to turn around and give him another half million to leave. Not too bright. I went up and watched the game this year. They looked a lot like some of the teams I’ve seen from Oakland, if you took Oakland’s speed and six or seven best players away.
  8. C’mon Barn, don’t let facts get in the way of a good story! The old ball coach was a heckova play caller. It will be interesting to see where he heads to. I’d think he would have more good opportunities than bad ones.
  9. Come on home. The football, baseball, and basketball portion of the AD job is wide open. My bet is it pays better than it used to. Short Heather will even find a group to attend the baseball and basketball games and collect the cash for you!
  10. Solly-I hope your are right, but I see it a little different. Transfers have played a BIG part of Murvil football. About four or five years ago when the two stud players from local high schools transferred to a city school, it was not into Murvil city. That threw up a big flag for me. I’m not sure the cause of this. Some of our Murvil friends tried to argue that those kids were not that good anyway. They both went to D1 schools. Why? Now with NIL tempting players, it is another hurdle to overcome. I hope we got a plan to keep up.
  11. From the BC games I watched, #6 gets as involved as they need him to. Some games it seems like he only touches the ball for five times. However, other games, he plays a much bigger role on both sides of the ball. Their coaches seem to do a good job of not over using him and risk him getting hurt.
  12. You’re right. I hate that happened. I do believe he would’ve helped us on defense this year.
  13. We must be over on capacity if the first answer is a no. That’s the most important question anyway. Maybe we are looking for Buyers With Studs (BWS) which might be a smaller group than TWS. How far over are we?
  14. Hypothetical: IF Boo’s family uses the BC benefits to move down on the lake in Blount County and his more talented lil brother wanted to attend Murvil….. (1) would 825 have room for him as a tuition student? (2) would lil brother only play on one side of the ball?
  15. I always thought the tuition forms included max squat and shuttle time…no wonder! A good, long introspective look at everything is probably needed. As long as everyone works extra hard for the same goal, it will work out. #TWS4MHS
  16. Truth. I think Jimmy and Joe should matter the most, but Murvil has won several big games with X’s and O’s over the years. #6 is is hands down bigger than X’s and O’s.
  17. Don’t worry, we will. 24-7-365. Just don’t stick your hand into the dogfight. Lol The interests and expectations contribute to murvils success. Without them, IMO you don’t reach the top - unless you have a lucky year. With NILs and no room for tuition students, murvil supporters are considering options. It should be an interesting 7-8 months!
  18. BC. Outside of the alco group, I’m probably as big a fan of 44 as anybody in town. I’ve told several people he could be one of the best players to come out of this county in decades. Not yet, but he is just a junior. I’m curious where you see him playing in college. After watching him for only one game this year, I would say linebacker. But I don’t know him or his mentality. For example, TEs usually don’t like the contact like LBs do. You've seen him for a couple of years now. Where do you think he helps a College team? Offense or defense.
  19. Hey man, let your feet get back on the ground for a couple of weeks until the bears bring that gold ball home to ET. Everybody enjoys beating Murvil, and you guys did it twice in the same year. BC has a super team, IMO the best in ET this year. #6 is a difference maker. Had he been on murvils sideline this year, I think they would’ve been pretty hard to handle. Keep him safe for another few weeks! Those last two games will be tough regardless of who you play. Enjoy the beat downs to this point but Murvil wasn’t great this year. They had three or four games where they did not have the top four or five players on the field. You may not see any players better than your number six, but you guys will see some very good players. Ive heard Oakland is a little down from usual, but they will have some D1 players as well. I also hear Bentwood got some stud move ins. I think they are also undefeated and have been routing their opponents. After this week, it’s gonna get tougher. You guys have a great shot. Enjoy the ride and good luck the next few weeks.
  20. Yes, great player. Murvil has had several. #22 from a decade ago was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. But Murvil kids don’t play both ways like some studs do at other schools. BCs #6 was great on defense, offense, and special teams.
  21. It will be interesting to see what position he plays in college. He looks good in all three phases. He is special with the ball in his hand, but that one-handed INT was one to remember - Deon Grant type of play. He looks like a great player who has gotten better this year.
  22. Agreed. At the time, I thought the Oakland RB (now at Oregon) was the best I had seen and the safety Oakland had a few years prior was a close 2nd. BC’s #6 is better than both because he impacts more of the game. The weakest part of his game appears to be on offense, but he dominates there as well. A 50 yd jet sweep TD, a 95 yd kickoff return for a TD, a one handed INT, and so many plays on defense to prevent opponents big plays makes him the best IMO. BC and Brentwood in December might be a great game.
  23. It’s probably a mismatch! Short Heather would be a great host of a future coach’s show!
