There will not be a team in the state that can out condition what Union City does. The heat, humidity, long days...pay off on nights like this. Union City showed tonight that folks better look out. Union City takes it to the house and now leads 35 to 28.....scoring 21 straight points...being down 28 to 14. Doing this and playing in Kentucky...WOW!!! U C holding their own as a very young team. 7 to 7 at the half.

The Twisters will win several but loose a few also. My be 6 - 4 or 7 - 3 going into playoffs. Then depends on how the do and the match ups....3rd round best for this years team.

The Rebels win big in the "Rent-A-Win" against the Fulton County Pilots. Should be a cake walk with lots of ice cream. Almost like playing a junior high school to b honest.

Should be interesting to see how Union City handles, not only a good football team but playing against the Ky officiating crew. This will be a good measuring stick for the Tornadoes. I hope Union City hangs with the Trigg County bunch.

From what has been said and I have seen at the U C scrimages, Union City will have a tough running game again but a weak pass defense. Union City is loaded with speed, speed and more speed and should be able to offset any pass attack with their running game. Should be ok and how they mature the first 3 games will determine how the rest of the season will go.

You must have been at a different scrimage game....Union City won 7 to 3 in T D's. Doesn't matter though. Just a scrimage and nothing else.

Thanks for the kind words folks. U C fared very well against powerhouse McKenzie. Union City will be ok. They have speed, speed and more speed. Won't throw the ball much at all...just like the past two years. Union City will be respected when on the field, we may get beat by the score but not out played or other things. It will be interesting to see how the Purple & Gold does. Keeping the low numbers healthy, Bowling also doesn't want kids who aren't 100%. He has already proven that by a release of a player at camp that was decent and a transfer. You play it by Bowling book or hit the road. We as the fans of football are still enjoying the wins last year. The final game was special and one many Tornado fan will ever forget...almost like a story book ending. We will get beat but at the same time play good. I look for U C to go maybe to the 3rd round if that...who knows though...anything can happen. Good luck to the Pioneers and the Red Devils. Coach Spivey is one everyone has the utmost respect for. HE IS A CLASS ACT and brings things to football lots of kids never get to be around. He is just a great guy. See ya at kickoff....

Union City ( tried ) to scrimage Wayne Co. today ( thursday ). But from the sound of things on a report from the game, the game was cut short due to fighting and Wayne Co. calling Union City names and I will let you wonder what they were. From what I have found out, Wayne Co. had not forgotten Union City coming in and walking away with a win on their turf last year. There is always two side to every story. JUst hate this happened.

Good Luck to the Rebel Mighty this year. I plan to attend a few games myself when U C is not in town. The for the Rebels to me is accually have a possible running game to mix with the passing. They have the program headed in the right direction and everyone across the county is glad to see. To me, and I do not know that much about foorball, but it is far more important be be able to run the ball more so than pass. Union City showed everyone that last year. If fair is the deal, good things will happen. The Rebels have a tough schedule after the Fulton Co. game. 7 - is not out of the question and if the running game can over shadow what passing game the Rebels may have, good things will happen after the regular season.

It will be another interesting football season for Union City. The what if's, the unknowns and what to expect is the usual thing. Union City did loose several key players but have several returning. Once again, a small in numbers team will be the likely, showing anyone in the state that ever has doubt, it is not completely about how many are dressed out, just what you have are ready for that night's game. Union City should be decent this year from the talk with a fairly young team. I personally say the Tornadoes should be ranked but where. Ranking are for the fans ...not the players and coaches. Good luck to all, last year was last year but we had fun for sure. It is almost "football time in Tennessee" so get ready....
