Anyone know about scrimmages coming up for Indy or Centennial? I know Williamson County used to take on Rutherford County often in preseason scrimmages. Centennial used to scrimmage Siegel quite often it seemed like and I read in another thread that Brentwood is going to scrimmage Oakland. Any news Palin or Taco on scrimmages for your teams?

1) Centennial better make the playoffs with this creampuff schedule or Rector may not stay long. 2) Does an easy schedule like this really prepare you for the playoffs? I guess we will see. I think the Cougars can possibly make it. 3)I, like BeeVee, heard the defense was shotty. What's the deal with the defensive side of the ball? When do they scrimmage someone to see if things have improved?

Actually McCurry left Moore County in 1998. His last team there was picked by Murphy Fair to land in the state championship but was upset in the second round by a Huntland team that Moore County had dusted by more than 20 points earlier in the regular season. Coach Doug Price took over in 99 and led the Raiders to the state title appearance. McCurry did lead the Raiders to a title game back in 88 I believe. They lost a nail biter. Good luck Mac!

Blackman- Too many athletes for the Blaze: LOSS Page- Bad game to schedule. If Indy wins they were supposed to because they are 6A. If they lose it's an embarassment. Good thing Indy will WIN Brentwood- This club may be down some but will still be tough: LOSS Lincoln County- The Falcons are still rebuilding: WIN Centennial- Centennial will be fast but unfortunately that's it. This game will come down to special teams so give it to the Eagles: WIN Coffee County- With Embry as the new Red Raider OC, Indy WINS Hillsboro- This is a toss-up but give the edge to Dyson's flock: WIN Bye- Indy in the upset as the Bye will be favored by 3. Franklin- This game won't be close. LOSS Siegel- Look for the Stars to shine. LOSS Ravenwood- Raptors may be pretty beat up at this point. Eagles WIN I believe Indy can have a winning record, but I don't see a visit to the playoffs. My question for the rest of the readers is where does Indy finish in the district?

CHSTeamPlayer is right. There is NO way they are going to let you come in and see the cameras. I must admit your suspicions are warranted though. I go to church in Franklin with an excellent young man who is an upcoming sophomore on the Centennial football team. I asked him if they had started spring ball to which he said no. He told me it starts next week. I asked him how weights and conditioning are going and he said good and did say they had been going over some plays in the gym before school. I then asked if it was organzied by the team captains. He said no captains had been chosen and that both Coach Rector and Coach Eubanks were there. After that I wished him luck and we both agreed we can't wait for the season to start. Don't take this as an absolute truth. This is just what one kid said but I thought I would ask him since he is on the team. Take it for what you will.

Since you are a cougar supporter, when is their spring ball? Who are they scrimmaging? Dates? Thanks!

The Vandy pedigree I have in mind would not be a good choice. Too old to relate. Won't hang around for the long haul. Guess he could be a temporary fix possibly.

.Could be a tough year for Independence but there will be no dominant teams in the district other than Brentwood and Franklin so third place could be up for grabs .Summit will be able to compete in a three year span/need time to build .Interesting comment...would hate it for his sake if it is so

I would love to speak freely, but with all that taco, powercat, border patrol, and several others are saying I think I'll stay quiet for now.

Looking forward to the "new look". I'm hoping they bring back the Columbia blue in some fashion. I hope that the fans will be realistic this year with expectations. Centennial didn't have much size last year which limits you in the schemes you can run. I think 3 or 4 wins may be realistic. They would fair better if they would take Rutherford County schools off the schedule as they rebuild. just my opinion

Need a radio play by play announcer? I have been out of the broadcasting game for awhile as I have been in the high school coaching ranks the last few years. I've mainly done play by play for high school basketball and football which were played tape delayed on WJIG back in the early 2000s. I was also the public address announcer for Motlow State Community College men and women's basketball from 1999-2001. My last work was through Channel 3 in Murfreesboro doing sports updates through MTSU. I have a wonderful job so I'm not looking to quit my day job. I just want to broadcast a few games from time to time. I would work for very little or may consider doing games for free if the opportunity is right.
