Anderson county hosts Elizabethton Cyclones
Mavericksinflight replied to Rackattack's topic in Class 3A & Class 4A
Well over the past couple years these two teams play close like 1 point close. It could turn out to be a close one. Probably looking at both teams executing long drives. Betsy will try and sneak in those deep lob pass, here and there. The Mavs more than likely ground and pound with OL. If the Mavs get in trouble I think they have a good back up plan. Just my opinion but I think the Mavs have more options this year with the new QB it just fits into the style. More random than last year. -

Blazer has the correct info exactly. Not sure based on info why he gives edge to AC. I think AC has a comfortable edge provided everyone healthy. Hmmm but blazer you are close. -

Ok Guru Mercy rule on any team left standing, except (Gibbs), will be hard. But nothing is impossible. -

Defence has been playing great. Offence had up and downs. But overall this Mav team in some ways is better than last year. If it all comes together Friday we will be yet one step towards something never done at AC Back to Back championships. I think we have what it takes but the players will have to see that too! -

That will be a good and timely prediction . Betsy and the Mavs always have great game. Last year's two games were as close as you can get. -

There is some truth to that. In the past years I have seen the Mavs play much better away. There the thing of being overconfident know you are playing at home. We need to make sure the Mavs realize home or away they have to win this game really serious. Mavs need to understand too Betsy plays better away games They probably feed energy off that and that means the Mavs better be ready! -
Impossible. They just can't do it this year, rebuilding. The same with Greeneville. Mavs new Defense Coach is lights out,; Lambert and Chadwell.

That would really hurt the alumni that are out of state etc... not sure I would recommend that.

AC should win with a comfortable 14. But we have to stop deep pass. Safety needs to assist DBs as needed, Or we need a good pass rush my opinion we will have both. I think the Mavs Legion of Doom defense hold Betsy long enough for Moog and Zae to pick them apart. Heck the way Zae runs thats another big Mav option. Receivers we have a crop of great ones. Moog Zae however problem for Betsy IMO is stopping James. We just have too many weapons to not march to Chattanooga. That's my opinion and I have been wrong one time but I can't remember when. when the smoke clears the the Mavs defense should have the win! And let not forget speedster LaRue and with headhunter Small on defense, let's have mercy. -
Only slipping Betsy will be doing next week unfortunately will be slip sliding away home for Thanksgiving dinner and watch the Mavs on NFHS.

TSSAA 4A Mr.Football semifinalists
Mavericksinflight replied to GreeneDevil2020's topic in Class 3A & Class 4A
I would obviously choose Moog from AC. He has a State championship under his belt as well. But its what he has accomplished under the circumstances; considering his two knee surgeries and his ability to not mis a lick once he got back on the field. Then considering his time off he spends working with the youth in the Read-Option program. On the field not only playing both ways but excelling both ways as well. He is definitely an all around community Athlete. As I said that's my vote, if I had one? -
Thank you noones!!!. He is, and I am sure, while a lot of good players in the hunt, I hope he makes it. I know they don't or apparently don't necessarily pick those that have the best records, example Martinez for Mavs last year, they use a different system, I assume over all in picking, but I hope he fits the criteria. My best wishes for him.

Congratulations to Nick Moog as a Tennessee Titans Mr. Football finalists. Wish the best and think he deserves it. He has a State Championship, has struggled through at least two knee surgeries and is still able to make his opponents miss while piling up the yards. Defense he is also a Monster He is relentless. And in his off time contributes to the youth program Read-Option. If the award is for an all around athlete and fundamental good wholesome human, than he has my vote. Good Luck Nick you deserve it!

The East will need to bring there best to beat Pearl Cohen. PC also has the QB returning from last year state championship that is really good.

He should be able to go where he thinks he can better himself. I would hope every player and parents would be free to do so. It appears Greeneville and Jefferson county had 1st choice. I am for anyone that feels they can better themselves. With the new NIL sponsorship program, apparently they are rewarding athletes. Not saying I am for it that, being probably because I am old school or just not use to it, but now days it's about commercization; unfortunately it is all about the dollar but what better training and disapline can you get for your money's worth with high school sports.

Yeah I can imagine he may have bone to pick with Greeneville when we make the trip to Greeneville. I think I would. Just saying he has score to settle. They passed over a Diamond in the ruff, for sure. Oops forgot we have to get by Betsy first, heck we have SE before all that talk. Have to Remember 1 game at a time.
