  1. I feel your pain!! Don't think for a second you have the only school with this problem. I think the problem is when the band director forgets that the school has a marching band and not a competition band. I for one think that if there is a football game then the band MUST attend! I also understand that the kids in the band do compete, and for the most part this is how they really get rewarded for their accomplishments. Tullahoma has the best band I saw this year and I can understand why they would want to compete for something more than applause. I guess I am on the fence on this one!
  2. I listened to the show tonight and I thought yall lightly touched on the problems with the PA announcer. I was at the game and I honestley didn't notice the problem that has some so upset. I thought the PA announcer was very excitable but that is just home field advantage. The remarks about the band and the horn is what just floored me! The horn was in the endzone and looked to me like it was pointed toward both sides and I didn't see where it harmed either team or fans. The band not being there seemed a little unusual but I did see horns and people playing them. I guess what I am a little amazed at is that I am finding it hard to believe that Tullahoma is complaining about these things on here. Tullahoma is better than that and I am a little disappointed. Tullahoma had a great year but got beat by a better Columbia team.....end of story!
  3. I can go along with some of what you are saying but the part about shutting down the districts best player is crazy! I think he had soemthing like 183 yards and two touchdowns! Other than that I would like to give a big hand to Tullahoma. Yall are truely deserving!
  4. Jared is absolutely Tullahoma's motor! I am not aware of Jared having any health issues though. Is there something about Jared that I have missed?
  5. As bad as I hate to say it, I agree with your outcome! Knox Catholic 28 Columbia 14
  6. Come on now......I didn't mean that to be so serious! I was just reviewing the previous game and I wasn't sure what Volfan was needing to be clarified. If it makes you feel any better, I actually think LCHS takes this game in a close one despite how badly they played the first meeting. I have seen both teams play a few times each and I was shocked at how both teams played. Tullahoma played way over their heads and LCHS played way under theirs. I thought T'town would take the first game since they were at home but not like they did. I feel like this will be a close one, maybe even some free football at the end.
  7. I think what they are trying to say is this: "Tullahoma’s defense was outstanding indeed, limiting the high-powered Lawrence Co. offense to only 160 yards, with 46 of those yards coming on one play. The visitors only completed one pass for seven yards, and the district’s leading rusher Trent Garland, who came in averaging 139 yards per game, was held to only 110 yards including the 46-yard gallop. The Wildcat offense matched the defensive performance against a very tough and physical Lawrence Co. defense, racking up 328 yards of total offense led by QB Jared Davis, who completed 16-20 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Trey Burks led the rushing attack, with 58 of his 62 yards coming in the second half". They think that Lawrence County cannot beat Tullahoma on the ground and they are going to have to pass the ball to win. The above article quotes are about as specific as anyone would need. Can LCHS run the ball? Can LCHS pass the ball? If Garland and gang can't run then they better be able to pass! I think that is what they are saying. I look for a different team come Friday night and expect this to be the game we were all expecting two weeks ago. Was that the "specific" you were looking for or was it which "Wildcat" team would win?
  8. I understand your dilemma......such a shame football is only played on Friday nights and only 10 games in a season! It gives a man way to much time between games. I did a little scratching around myself and found out that since 1969 Tullahoma holds a huge advantage as far as wins and losses. Unless I made a mistake, the record during this time is 31-8-1. Of course these records are from the past and we are very much so dealing with the present!
  9. Thanks to all for your responses. So let me get this straight; The Columbia/Knox Catholic game will get refs from neither district? The Tullahoma/Lawrence County game will be regular season refs from that district? The assigning officer will then choose the best referees that are available and send them to the game he chooses? The assigning officer does NOT choose crews but rather individuals based on how he thinks they preformed during the year? I do appreciate any and all information. I have no gripes about the refs I was just curious as to how they decide who and where these refs are decided upon. They were telling last year about how the refs were chosen for the finals at Cookeville and it pretty muched seemed like an all-star officiating crew.
  10. Surely someone knows how the referees are determined for the playoffs. The only thing I found in the handbook was "Game officials for all play-off games shall be appointed by the state office". I have always wanted to know if they pick the best groups or do they pick the best individual referees? It appears the referees are always from a different district of the two teams playing but I am not even 100% sure of that. A little help here please.
  11. Does anyone know how refs are determined for the playoffs? Do they come in groups or are they picked individually? Who decides what refs go where? I have always wondered this and I thought it might be interesting to see who all knows.
  12. Binns.....again I feel as if you are dead on! I have seen Tullahoma play multiple time this year and the two best games I have seen them play was the Columbia/LCHS games. Tullahoma has many sets but the ones they ran against LCHS was obviously perfect. The question is, can they get the early lead? I feel for them to win the game that is a must! They have to put LCHS in an uncomfortable position! I for one thought a couple big plays and some timely penalties was the difference in the first matchup. The score could have easliy been 20-21 as it was 27-7. LCHS on the other hand must not give up the big plays to Tullahoma. The defense played well but gave up the big play. They have to keep the score low and play their game. LCHS's offense must have better middle line play and not give up penetration. They must also figure out the weakness of the T'town defense. Against Shelbyville it was a lead blocker just off tackle. They didn't like taking that hit. I really feel as if Tullahoma might have this warm fuzzy feeling about this game since they won easily on the scoreboard and this could be disasterous for them. I also feel as if the LCHS bunch will be studying and studying some more! These are two very good teams and I look for something special next Friday! LCHS will be looking for a little payback but Tullahoma will be at home. To close to call!! If it rains though, wether or not that has anything to do with whats happening on the field, it will absolutely give LCHS the mental edge! They don't call themselves the MUDCATS for nothing!
  13. I sure am!! I am also looking forward to a rematch between the two WILDCAT teams next week with a win tonight! I just hope the Wildcats in purple don't look ahead as I have! GO DISTRICT 8AAA
  14. Does anyone in Lawrenceburg have any news on the big DT that broke his ankle a couple weeks back? I first thought that LCHS could get by without him but he was clearly needed when they played Tullahoma. They are a much better team when they can run him in and out according to the situations. I heard he may back this week but now I am hearing different. With a win tonight, could he be ready for a second round playoff game, or will we see some of him tonight?
  15. Did the weather cancel the game on Friday?
