  1. Thanks Raider Dad, but T has always been a Cyclone at heart and the most fun to watch football player I have ever seen. Here is T before he was a Dolphin. He was wearing his Cyclone shirt under his Dolphin uniform. We are glad he came home. http://www.flickr.com/photos/54950307@N04/
  2. It looks like they have come up with a good system. One thing you can add is a head to head category in which if two teams have played earlier in the season the winner gets home field no matter what the seed. That would not hurt the teams that played the bigger schools up in classes. If you don't fix that, you will see teams in 3A-4A adding the 1A-2A schools instead of the higher schools. The higher classed schools would find it hard to get games. The system they way it is now hurts the teams that play up. A team could win their conference and two teams that they beat would be seeded higher. You are rewarding the teams that play teams in the smaller classes.
  3. Good job! One point off for each team, not bad. Final 44-15
  4. After our QB went down last year trailing 14-0, Berry came in and picked their D-backs apart and scored 2 quick TD's we also lost our kicker and we missed an extra point and CAK was lucky to excape with a one point win. I should be another close game. EHS needs this win.
  5. Winning the confrence means nothing under the TSSAA playoff rules, Happy Valley and North will be seeded higher and EHS will not even get a home Football Game, It looks like they may have to travel to Chucky Doak where their band will not even fit in the stands.
  6. We are also over looking the TE Phillips playing in one of the middle LB spots. Big Body, could make some good stops I don't know about him on the outside, but maybe.
  7. I forgot about all those, I guess you can count in another 1000 NC kids to pick from.
  8. That's what happens to programs that don't put the freshman and JV teams on the field, the kids lose intrest and start looking for somewhere else to play. EHS plays 3 games a week every week somewere, they even have play some teams twice like the JV game against DB last night, EHS played them a couple of weeks ago and lost but changed some things around and came back and beat them 25-13. Happy Valley would not even attempt to play teams like Science Hill or DB they set their sites on Unaka.
  9. They don't look like they have a clue, funny they just beat DB's JV tonight 25 to 13. DEREKTHEBETRAYER you don't know squat about Football just like the rest of the Happy Valley folks, Good luck with your Science Hill rejects.
  10. When you have 2000 kids to pick from you should play up.
  11. You still have Moore and TT in the backfield and when Berry tucks it, he is hard to bring down. There is a good freshman Pearson may see some PT in the backfield. Redd is comming on strong as a go-to passing guy, he has not dropped one yet. Clayton Smith could get some PT in the back field to rest Luke he is a load with very good speed. At LB you may see Jarred Whitehead or Tyler Whitlock both could play WLB then Bryan Mullins fills in on the line. With the loss of Austin we are getting low in the depth department. Tray Dennis and Chase Baker and Ian Glover are going to have to take up the slack. If Elizabethton gets on top fast and stops the mistakes, we should see a lot of the younger kids get to play.
  12. 48-16 North against the EHS freshman team. When you could see when North removed the junior transfer player and the 10th graders, EHS drove down the field and scored. They did not rest them much. The player #1 scored most of norths points with run backs and INT's, they played him the whole game. Kilee, great player against the younger kids. No problem it's the Friday nights that count, great experance for our younger players to play the older kids. To bad they could have not have brought back some college freshmen Friday.
  13. Lets see last year EHS beat Science Hill and Greeneville, CAK score was 13-14, and Ashville was 10-3 and went to the semi while HV watched from home. HV and EHS have between 600 and 700 students Science Hill 2700, Greeneville 2000, CAK Private Football School, Ashville NC 1000. HV big non confrence team, Unaka.
  14. HV has more students then EHS this year, and they refuse to play EHS in JV or 9th grade games, even though North sends their 10 graders to play our freshmen at least they come and play.
  15. Lunsford would not play EHS when he was at Cloudland, what makes you think he would play them now that he's at Hampton. " I am guessing by your name you must be from Hampton.
  16. Say what you will, none of the EHS JV played on Friday night. Two of our top running backs on varsity just turned 15 and are Sophamores Moore and Turner, our QB is a Junior as is a lot of the starters. If we played them on Monday night like you did, it would have been a diffrent game. North could not beat them with your seniors Friday. Maybe you should bring them to the freshman game Monday mean while we will keep developing our younger players on the teams they are suppose to play on.
  17. The Headline in todays paper about the game was "Varsity Players help North beat EHS" it went on to say "After Friday night's defeat at the hands of the Elizabethton varsity squad, the Sullivan North Raiders appeared to demote several of the varsity players to a one-game junior varsity contest against the JV Cyclones with the result being 32-12 Raider win". What did North do try and replay the Friday night game with their Varsity players against a bunch of soph and freshman? I know none of the skill players on the Cyclone JV saw any action on Friday, the QB and most of the running backs are freshman playing on the Elizabethton JV. I guess after Friday night the coaching staff is looking toward next year. But there is still the playoffs they had better save those kids for.
  18. Wow, You might be more impressed to find out that the running back and leading rusher for the Cyclones, Zack Moore is only 14. Terence Turner and starting guard Ian Glover are also just 15.
  19. I think maybe we can find a couple of girls that can run down the field and catch a ball. It worked for the kicker. In the North game he hit the tight end right in the hands and he could have skipped into the endzone, noone was anywhere around him, right in the hands drop, wr open in the Endzone right in the hands, drop. I wish they still allowed pine tar. We coulds use some.
  20. I don't think ether team has the players they had last year so it should be a good game. Nothing to lose here Coach Witten should hold nothing back. Let the QB throw throw throw... Stick the football in the fase mask of the receivers and find someone that can catch in a game. If we drop on more TD Pass this year we need to bring up the junior high players.
  21. The Cyclone JV beat Science Hill earlier this year in a close game and have only lost to DB, It looks to be a good matchup with North all week with the JV and even with the freshman game Thursday. Several teams will not play freshman games, Volunteer did not even show up for theirs, I think the more PT the kids get the better. I think some coaches feel why bother sending freshmen teams out to lose because the better freshmen are playing varsity and they might need them. Let the kids play as many games as they can, that's where they learn. EHS had over 30 freshman come out to play this year, thats where the teams are made.
  22. The kid that they are looking at to start on the line is a sophomore 6'3" 230 built like Smith and has been destroying QB's on the JV, blocked 3 PAT's and a punt for a safety. He has earned his spot let’s see how he does against 12th graders. His name is Glover. EHS is going to have to get the younger ones involved more. Just look at how sophomore Zach Moore came out of nowhere to lead the team in rushing. He was not even on the radar at the start of the season. EHS has got to get the tight end involved, at least throw one pass to him to keep the defense honest. They ran a full back pass in the Vol game that went for good years and have never ran it again. Draw Draw Draw, we run the draw 100 times a night. We need to go deep more than once a game. Our QB has the arm but they know we will just throw the short pass so the D just cheats up and steps in front of those passes. Looks to be a good game at North, they will be ready.
