Geno - You and others who talk about the transfers and "influx of talent" at SM could be a little more enlightened. SM only has one player that came from another school that starts and contributes abundantly. More telling is the number of kids SM has who contribute in equally big ways. Nearly every touchdown is put up by a different jersey number. It's truly a team that is blessed with a lot of capable boys, and yes, nearly all played in the flag or tackle recreational programs on Signal Mountain. Birdie is absolutely correct when talking about the bulk of these boys playing multi-sports together since they were young. I'd say at least 90% are homegrown boys and about 10% at most are new to the mountain. The boys that haven't been on the mountain all their life fit right in but cannot be credited with SM's success in 2008 as a JV team, in 2009 in it's first varsity year, or now. I read more than I post, but I can't ignore this misconception (or allegation) that seems to be fodder for some. SM vs. SP will be a great, fun game! Go Eagles!
