This is my first post, so I hope I do this right! lol. Zebra, thanks for pointing out those negative comments by the Henry County fan. It is much appreciated! A little poster material never hurts!!
Volfan, we (Humboldt) substitute a lot to try to keep fresh legs in there. We have so many players playing both ways, so substituting is imperative. The kids are responding well, and I hope they keep it up. We have a very tough assignment ahead in Henry County. It is a very good football team, despite losing players. However, Henry County loses players every year. They simply reload. They beat themselves when they played Liberty. Both teams had turnovers, but Henry County's turnovers seemed to come at costlier times. In addition, Liberty ran a fumble and an interception back for touchdowns (I may have the exact number wrong, but you get the idea). So, if Henry County corrects those mistakes, they will be very very tough to beat. I know Hum coaches will put together a good game plan, and the kids must have a good week of practice. Execution and a lack of turnovers is a must for Humboldt to win. I believe we can win, but we must play with intensity and purpose and be almost mistake-free. We fumbled twice in the game at Gibson County, but we had the game already in hand. We will not be able to do that against Henry County and come out on top. Our speed killed Gibson County, but we will be facing pretty good speed with HC. I look forward to seeing us playing to the best of our ability, and that is all I can ask of them.
