  1. Now that's funny. I don't care who you are. Good one.
  2. Wow. We can't even get along on a congratulations post. So sad.
  3. Congratulations Mr. Mathers on your award. You definitely are the real deal. I don't care what his 40 time is. He is a beast and a nightmare for any DC planning against him. Good luck next year.
  4. I am looking forward to this game. Saturday can't get here fast enough. Good luck to both teams. We will be pulling for Smyrna. GO DAWGS!!!!!
  5. So let me get this right. In your last paragraph you said that the thought of congratulating another deserving recipient was blasphemy, but yet in your next sentence you in your words committed blasphemy by congratulating Devrin. CLASSIC!!!
  6. I actually think there are more voters in the middle TN area. Just like there are more schools in Middle Tn. Just my opinion, everybody has one, but I would have to say that Mathers being a Jr. had the biggest impact on him not getting the award this year. There were three talented backs up for this award and all could make great cases why they should have been awarded this honor. Good luck in the future. Look forward to watching you play on Saturdays.
  7. Proud papa today. My oldest received all district today. Very proud of him.

  8. Drider? Driding? I don't think we had those when I played. Must be a new position or an East TN thing. Inquiring minds want to know.
  9. Lineman Kyler Kerbyson, Knoxville Catholic Back Devin Young, Bearden Kicker Zach Sharp, Maryville Congrats on being named Mr. Football 2010. You were all deserving of the awards. Good luck at the next level.
  10. Well I'm probably going to make some people mad and get off subject a bit, but I'm going to talk about the game. Sorry in advance. We have the best playing the best in my opinion. No matter how they got here. The TSSAA tried their best this year to mess up our championship brackets, but leave it to them to come out smelling like a rose. It worked. I think Smyrna's defense is their strong side, while Maryville's offense seems to be their strong side. Lets call them a wash. This game is going to come down to their weaker side stepping up.(And before you start, I'm not calling either team weak) The Maryville defense or the Smyrna offense. Which one steps up? This and the obvious things (turnovers, special teams, field position)will IMHO be the difference in the game. Like I stated earlier Sorry to be talking about the game. Just thought somebody needed too. Now I return you to your normally scheduled program.
  11. Appears he was right on both games. Hendersonville and Smyrna both won tough games. Middle TN teams prevail once again. Proof is in the pudding. Enjoy your crow.
  12. Congratulations to both teams for making the finals. This should be a great game. I'm leaning towards Columbia due to there size and physical play on defense. Go Lions!!!!!
  13. Congratulations Maryville. Smyrna vs Maryville for the state championship.
  14. Congratulations Maryville. Smyrna vs Maryville for the state championship.
  15. Congratulations Bulldogs on a hard fought victory. 10-7. Maryville vs. Smyrna for state championship. Go Bulldogs!!!!
  16. Will be close early, but Maryville will prove to be too much for Oak Ridge and win easily. Maryville 35 Oak Ridge 14
  17. I think you were being pretty ugly in your post there. Sorry. Couldn't pass that one up.
  18. Well what I saw early was a team ( Blackman ) that gave the ball to a very talented RB ( Mathers ) and he tried to run left, right and up the middle with little or no success. Symrna' s defense did exactly what they needed to do. They forced Blackman intotrying to pass and then they began to attack the young QB from different angles forcing him to throw quick and hurried passes. I was surprised that Blackman didn't try a screen to Mathers and use him in the passing game more. I was also surprised that they didn't utilize the FB more. I think he ran the ball twice. Once for about three yards and another time for seventeen. Its easy to sit here now and second guess the coaches or even the players. I know when I played and watched film I could see things I would've done different. I know the coaches would sometimes say he should have called a blitz or different coverage. Its always easier in the film room. Atleast to see the things you would do different. It still doesn't take the sting of losing away. Just saying.
  19. Any news on #5 and #45? Are they going to play? I know that Smyrna can without them but would be better with them. Inquiring minds want to know. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and God Bless.
