Congratulations to Knox West! You are exactly right MeritIII about this game mirroring last years. Anyone from Boone who says the referees cost us this game are still probably blaming their mom for the way they have turned out. I heard this nonsense as soon as the refs called the first penalty on Boone and I have heard the same ones crying every game. The refs had nothing to do with West's qb running wild and their defense stuffing the run and stopping the passing game of Boone. Good game West and as bad as I would like to see the Big Eight teams win I believe you will continue to the third round with a very talented and coached team.

Good point Kat, Boone has not had a passing game all year and I don't see that happening Friday. Boone does have an excellent kicker in #13 Chris Dickerson. Chris is a lot like West's kicker in being able to kickoff out of the endzone. He has kicked 95% of his kickoffs for touchbacks with several through the uprights and out of the back of the endzone. That will help to eliminate West's speed on kickoffs. Just like West's kicker Chris is predicted by CSA recruiters to play D1 ball next year. This is his first year starting kicker because of playing behind a good kicker the last two years. I assume West's kicker is still planning on playing for UT, right?

CONCERN: Would a serial killer really admit to someone on CoachT if he really was a serial killer? You are making me nervous RunningRebel about attending the game when you are defending something before you have been accused of it. Kidding aside, glad to hear West running back is ok. Hate to hear of any players getting hurt serious. I really hope West does not take Boone to light because of their record. An example of that happen two years ago when TN.High beat Boone in regular season bad and then met them on their home field in second rd. 11-0 ranked #1 in state and Boone beat them 23-14. If West has a state championship caliber team then stay focused on Boone and quit talking about round 2 or 3. The best recipe for upset is overlook + underestimate = upset. If West's run defense is that good than Boone will be in for a long night. Boone's offense has been 95% run. The best success Boone has had on offense has been lining up with two backs (#5 Austin McLemore and #23 Cliff Sanders) running straight at the defense and wearing down the defensive front. I hope Coach Jenkins stays with this strong point! They have struggled with passing which has resulted in a lot of turnovers. Last year's game between Boone and West, Boone had 7 turnovers due to West's good defense and some bad decisions on Boone's part. I don't agree with negative smack talk such as name calling or how bad you are going to beat a team. I hope Boone plays turnover free, good hard nose football and West does not over look Boone so the excuse won't be West was not prepared. West is diffently the heavy favorite in this game. Something I need to know is whether or not I need to make plans to come to Knoxville this Friday. According to what you are saying they may not even play the game since West is so good. Please let us play you guys so we can get our "curbstomping". Chris Dickerson, Sr.-----Daniel Boone, Gray, TN. Chris is a pk/p and has averaged 65 yards on kickoffs with 95% being touchbacks. He has kicked several through the uprights with some of his longest being 80 yards. His average for punts is 42.6 yards. Chris has a great leg and CSA scouts expect Chris to be playing for a D1 school next year.

I hope you are wrong with your expectations. There is no doubt that Boone is down and SH is up compared to the last two years. Boone's defense has played good ball all year and the scores make it look like they have given up a lot of points. I have not looked at the statistics on Boone's defense but most of the scores they have given up have come from turnovers causing short field positions for other teams to score. For instances TH scored their first td from a block punt recovered on the one yard line and another from interception somewhere around Boone's twenty. I said all that to say this, Boone's defense can make this a good ballgame. How many points Boone gives up depends more on their offense lack of moving the ball and turnovers that give SH short field. It is not just one player or two's fault on why Boone's offense has struggled, it is the whole team. Hopefully Boone can pull everything together and finish the season strong. In Cap's words, this could be a upset.

Congratulations to the DB football team and their fans for the win. Hopefully your players will rest up and be ready for the last half of the season. With everybody healthy it should allow you to finish 10-0 and take it to them in the playoffs. I know you all do not like talking about the playoffs right now and everyone jump on here and say one and done, but the DB team should be thinking about it determined that their goal is to win every game and win state. Win it all!

You are exactly right about the front line on offense for Boone. If they cannot open some holes for running or protect the qb it will be up to the defense to keep DB from running the score up. I am concerned about the possible number of interceptions Boone will throw if the line does not handle the pressure. Boone cannot make mistakes it they are going to have any chance of beating a team as good as DB.

That is one of the reasons Boone has struggled on offense. In the first 4 games they have not been to successful in the passing game and if they cannot move the ball in the air then it will make it that much easier for DB to shutdown the running game. The last two games Boone has went to the two qb offense and #3 has added some threat in the passing and running. Boone has two good running backs with #23 Sanders having a good year and #5 McLemore coming back from a hamstring injury. Both of these guys are able to break the long runs consistantly and hopefully that will open the passing. I do believe Boone will suprise DB that they are a better team than what the scores and record has indicated so far. Coach Jenkins has been up late every night this week working on his recipe for an upset and he is putting ingredients in it that hopefully will leave a bitter taste for DB. You are not being rude or disrespectful, you are just saying it the way is should be when a team is as good as DB. I hope DB goes all the way this year and wins state and I know a bunch of individuals start crying one and done. The truth is I don't know another coach or team that wouldn't love to finish 10-1 or 11-1 every year. A lot of that crying one and done is probably just plain old jealousy because area teams are not successful at beating DB. So here is a win/win situation, Boone plays their best game of the year and DB their worse, so DB can still go on and win the state and finish 14-1. What do think, not bad right?
