  1. I've stayed away intentionally for quite some time, but I am finally compelled to speak. Give it some time guys. It will take time to rebuild from the devastation of the past year. Is euvard the man? Who knows, ask that somewhere down the road. Rebuilding a reputation and and program takes time. Learning to win, without the question of above board practices, may prove more difficult than some think. And just to be clear, I still feel Brad still must go. I have not and will send another cent as long as he is there. I make no apologies for that, and I also know that no one really cares what I do with my pocket change. To me, the whole mess, including the 1-2 start, is squarely on him. It happened on his watch and he hired almost everyone involved.
  2. Pemberton is a surprising hire, if it is true. Knox Catholic for several years, then to Georgia for a year, then Macon County for 2 years, Right? Maybe the dust will settle before he moves again this time. If I remember correctly, there were some raised eyebrows at Macon because of his reported salary and supposedly this is one of the reasons a superintendent got let go. He doesnt have the best reputation as working too hard with the academic side of things. All in all, a decent coach with some success in his past, but this is an unusual hire for a school with Brentwood's reputation to make.
  3. Gore would be the best option from what I have heard at this point. Hester is in the mix. Aydelott would be crazy to leave the set up he has at Riverdale and I doubt he is looking to. In my opinion, Ingle is not ready for the challenge. I have no idea about Maryville guys either. I dont think the pay vs. cost of living in this are would be that attractive to those guys, but who knows. I wouldnt be surprised if they have to go out of state to make this hire, nor would I be surprised if they make an in house promotion.
  4. BA and MBA learned this the hard way. Ensworth will be next. And since BA cant touch Ensworth right now, saying character development is more important than winning games is an easy "out" for BA. Good luck to the new coach and congrats to BA, it sounds like you hired a really good guy.
  5. Word around town is that Brentwood is finding it much harder to find replacement for Crawford than it anticipated.
  6. Interesting. Not much out there about the guy. Resume doesnt sound like what BA would be looking for. Good luck to him.
  7. No its not but it is instituitional related and that's been the problem all along; internal instituitional issues. This is more evidence that more than a coaching change is needed. MBA will not recover until that happens.
  8. Article in the Tennessean just keeps the bad news coming for MBA. Not sure if this link will post here, but its on the from page of the .com http://www.tennessean.com/article/20120125/NEWS/120125019/MBA-teacher-fired-sex-allegations-under-review?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE Here is the lead in sentence to the story: A female Montgomery Bell Academy middle school teacher is under investigation for an alleged sex incident with a student, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
  9. Young Lady, you are too funny. Your posts are getting more and more desperate and this name dropping is really topping the cake. Sorry but you don't fool me. I am not trying to fool anyone and that is the reason I have a five star rating. Do you still not know the details? Ask the board for the two letters sent to TSSAA self reporting the potential violations. I do not think there is any other way to convince you that nobody was watching the hen house while the foxes hid in the weeds. Everyone watch out...we have a 5 star rated poster on here, whatever the heck that means, and if anyone actually cares. To me, all it means is somene found a way to make themselves look better on coach t and is self rating. MBA was once 5 star too...
  10. Brentwood insiders make this job sound just as unattractive as those from the outside. Coaches playing their own kids, parents and boosters insisting they are going to have influence and their say, outsiders saying the talent is drying up, insiders saying there is 50 or more seniors which means a lot of complaining on the side lines, Williamson County insiders talking about teaching responsibilities that most coaches dont want, lower pay compared to surrounding counties, a couple of guys on staff who sound ready for the position, but dont bring the glitz that most in BHS think wants or needs so those guys wont get it and will still be on staff. I honestly dont know which job is more unattractive, this one or the Franklin job.
  11. Perhaps, and the cheating would still be ongoing.
  12. Guy over on the AAA football threads saying Shadowens of Blackman HS is coming to BA...anyone know?
  13. Probably not, but at the least, it is a foolishly blind follower that wont face the truth, while claiming to be "MBATruth". It might as well be Brad, so I chose to respond they way I did. They are a puppet of his that is also helping MBA continue on the downhill slide instead of facing reality.
  14. Agree with all of this. And I finally do see a silver lining with Gioia...he is not good at cheating. There's got to be something good in that. And now "tuition donations" will be made to struggling families in parking lots, in envelopes, in cash. Those families will take that cash, deposite it into an account, and write a check off of it. Cheaters can always find a way to cheat. Eventually, someone who doesnt get the playing time promised will talk and there will be an investigation. Bank records will be examined and unexplained income will have a predetermined lie ready to go. TSSAA is too incompetent and spineless to make this go away. MBA should have lost athletic participation for two years, post season for 4, in all sports. TSSAA is an organization and an instituition. They lost instituitional control a long time ago. This case points to that more than ever before.
  15. Correct. He is either a liar or he is incompetent. No matter which, he is unfit to lead MBA any longer. MBA is allowing the shame to remain as long as Gioia remains. Mr. Gioia, fall on your sword and move on. You have a shot at leading again if you do. If you keep claiming goodhearted ignorance in the face of compelling and contrary evidence and common sense, you lose all credibility and a future in your chosen career. You are making yourself a laughing stock. You have shamed the school and it is time for you to go.
  16. So does Brentwood name Jay Gore this week or next? Ha, just teasing a little. However, I do think he would be the obvious choice. Of course, Brentwood may do an actual search and interview process and find someone new. This is really getting interesting and funny. Wonder if DW throws his name into this one? Will Clayton? So will it be new blood in Williamson county, or retreads?
  17. If Gioia doesnt go, the entire Board of Trustees needs to go and take Gioia with them. The shame on the school can only begin to heal with new leadership. Period.
  18. Player meeting at Brentwood this afternoon...Crawford is out. Going to Cleveland...
  19. The body part(s) that TSSAA is missing should be hanging a little lower...
  20. Best football team to not win a state title? I'm going with every Franklin High School team thatbever played. They get predicted by their own to win a state championship every year, but somehow never do. They must be tired to getting robbed for all these years.
  21. FROM THE TENNESSEAN: Major sanctions have been leveled against Montgomery Bell Academy by the state’s high school athletic governing organization for violations of recruiting rules and the tuition and financial aid rule. After a five-month investigation, the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association has placed the school on probation for two years, vacated the state football championship the school won in 2007 and the basketball championship it won in 2010. Additionally, the school is required to forfeit a number of wins that came about when ineligible players were used, and TSSAA is requiring MBA to repay tournament and playoff revenues totaling $46,952.33. Now Gioia must go.
