  1. The 2001 Landers would beat this year's team by about 50 points and Lunsford would run the score up to prove it.
  2. Right now at this very moment Lunsford is not a better QB than Hill and Roark is a good Tight End but I would like to see him line up against Ross Campbell. I went to school at Hampton with the players that they have this year and I do not believe that they could match up with the 96 Dogs. In 96, I was about 10 years old but I can remember watching B.J. Taylor run all over teams and I can remember the safety that won the game in 1st game in the playoffs against a very strong Alcoa team. I can also remember setting with my dad at the boat ramp at Watauga Lake and listening to the game on the radio when they played Knox Webb. I wanted to kill myself when they lost. Taylor was a very special player. He is probably the best player that I have seen play besides Mark Byrd. But in 1996 most people will agree that Hampton was the best team in state and that they should have won it all. If this year's team does not win it all, will anybody say that they were the best team in the state and that they should have won it all?
  3. I watched the 1996 team also, and I do not believe that the 2005 team could match up with that team. They were very good at every spot. Anybody who has seen this year's team play knows that they have a few weaknesses. Lets look at the matchups. Adam Townsend is good, but he is not as good as B.J. Taylor, Mark Watson was an overall better player than Jon Potter, and Micheal Lunsford is not a better quarterback than Hill. The recievers that the 1996 team had were exceptional. This years recieving crew is not as talented or as fast as the 1996 Bulldogs. When you look at some of the other players that they had like Jason Davenport and Ross Campbell, it is clear that they are not as good as this team was. I would like to see this year's Hampton team play the Cloudland 1996 team who also got beat in the same round that Hampton did that year. That would be a good game, but they could not beat the 96 Bulldogs, they were just too good at every position. 96 Dogs- 35 05 Dogs- 14 05 Dogs- 21 96 Landers- 14 maybe
  4. Hampton and Happy Valley are both good this year. Right know I believe that Hampton is the better team. I can't wait until week 9 when we have the Battle for Carter Co.
  5. Casey Turbyfill, Luke Sparks, Jordan Buck, Gary Buchannun, Nick Winchester, B.J. Johnson, and Brian Simmons???? WHO???? There needs to be a law against people getting on here and being completely retarded like poor old King is doing. It kinda makes me mad because it is just so ridiculous.
  6. Oakdale is probably the worst team that I have ever seen in my life.
  7. 1. Hampton* 2. Cloudland 3. Doesn't matter they will get killed in the first round. 4. They will also get killed in the first round.
  8. Anybody who has seen both Hampton and Cloudland play knows who the better team is, and it is really not even close. Cloudland is down this year. They have 1 running back and 1 lineman. The Webb kid and Jonah Horney are good ball players but that is it. There is a thing called talent. This year they just don't have it.
  9. this top 3 are tough...but remember I am not going by each team's record, I am going by the opponents they have played and how they would match up against each other. If they had a tournament in Coarter Co. right now, it would end up like this.... 1. Hampton 2. Happy Valley 3. Elizabethton 4. Cloudland 5. Unaka Like I said, those top 3 might change around a little bit but the bottom 2 are set in stone. Can't wait to see the Bulldogs play the Warriors in the Battle for Carter Co.

Well Warrior, why did you decline to play Cloudland at home when it was there turn to host the game, or why did you play West Greene away 2 years in a row and not Cloudland away for 1 YEAR!!!! Sounds like somebody was scared of the Landers.

I am from Hampton and I will agree that the Bulldogs are slightly overrated. I said the Bulldogs were overrated, not downright awful. But there is no way that they will get beat by any teams in this region. This is the worst region in the state of Tennessee. If you will remember, in the past decades Cloudland was not to good. They were just a team for good teams to practice against. Granted, there have been 3 or 4 good players and winning seasons, but for the most part, they have just been practice dummies. Cloudland's time has done come and gone, but the way that I hear it, they will be tough again in about 3 years with these junior high kids now. And if Hampton for some odd reason don't win the conference, I hope Cloudland does, because Hampton and Cloudland usually stick together on stuff concerning sports in Carter Co. Sometimes it feels like to me that it is the Landers and Bulldogs vs. the Cyclones, Warriors, and the Creekers. But Cloudland will not beat Hampton this year. It is Hampton's year to reign.
  12. HAHA King. Cloudland's time has come and gone. Now it is time for you all to actually play somebody in this region.

HVWarrior, if I remember correctly, the last time that the Landers and the Warriors played was at Happy Valley. So answer me one question. When the next year come, why wouldn't Cloudland want to play at home since it would be their turn to host the game. Please give me some more excuses on why Happy Valley wouldn't play Cloudland, even though everybody else in the county knows why.
  14. Hampton should run away with this game. There is no team in their 1A region that can play with them. So the Bulldogs need to just get ready and stay sharp for Greenback, Coalfield, and region 2. The only weakness that I see for the Bulldogs is their offensive line. If they can toughen up on the line, they will be a force to be reckoned with down state.

Well, Hampton is a pretty good team, but they are not good enough to win state. They could make it to the 3rd, maybe even the 4th round but they are not good enough to win state.

    Hampton

Heck far King, I really do hope that Cloudland could win that region 5 times. All you have to do is beat 4 retard teams that couldn't stay with in 3 TD's of a decent Pee Wee team. This is by far the worst region in the state of Tennessee. I don't believe anybody will argue with me on that one. And how do you think that Cloudland is going to be able to stay on the field with Hampton. Cloudland was better last year and Hampton was worse last year and Hampton still beat the Landers bad.

Hampton is definately going to be the team to beat in Carter Co. the next few years. Hampton will easily destroy Cloudland, Unaka, and anybody else in 1A this year. Happy Valley will be Hampton's only tough game the rest of the year. All of the statements are true, even if you all don't want to admit it. Oh, and HVWarrior, what was the score the last time that a team coached by Mike Lunsford went down to big bad Warrior Hill. I believe it was something along the lines of Happy Valley getting beat by about 50 points. From what I remember, that is the reason that Happy Valley wouldn't play Cloudland for 2 or 3 years. But now since Cloudland is having some down years, you all want to play them again. At least Hampton ain't a bunch of cowards like the Warriors. We took our 2 butt kickings every year from Cloudland until they lost Mark Byrd and Company.
  18. Well, Cloudland is no longer the measuring stick. For about three years they were the measuring stick when they had Mark Byrd, Dakota Benfield, Dane Christman, and Mike Lunsford, but now that Byrd and Company are gone, so are the highlanders.
  19. Jon Potter is the best fullback in east TN.
  20. Cloudland caught a few lucky breaks but they still played good enough to win.
  21. Well the rangers showed how good they really are last night when thry got beat by perennial powerhouse CHUCKEY DOAK. If they dont do something they will get beat bad by the highlanders, who i heard looked purty tough against sullivan east, and they will get absolutely slaughtered against hampton.
  22. hampton sgould win this game that is if they can stop tr smith. they should have only a few tough games this year with johnson county, happy valley and maybe unicoi co.
  23. Does anyone have any information on the two 6'6'' twins that are supposed to transfer to Hampton next year? I have also heard that they have a 6'3'' Freshmen brother. With them and the Lunceford kid coming to Hampton and the returning of 6'5" Jordan Honeycutt, the Bulldogs will be very tough to handle next year in 1A.
  24. Who won tonight's game between Hampton and Cloudland and who played well for each team?
