You think this program represents Tennessee high school basketball because they win games?

Sitting at ringside watching another CPA4Ever brawl, a seasoned veteran with more fights under the belt than any other in history. 5Sportdad jabs and 4ever counter punches with a vicious right hand uppercut, a low blow, below the belt, ready to spit out a bible verse, a 4ever trademark. Will it be another post fight interview where a punch happy 4ever wonders aloud and cannot understand how it got off topic, stomping out of the ring only to soon return ready to beat on the next person who stands in the way?

Yea, predictions AND talk and it is pretty clear what the people want to talk about on this public forum. Old,tired is easy for you to say when your team is the one whose gained the advantage from it. I wonder if an opposing coach, player or fan can be found who deep down isn't mad about it. I was not a big fan of multiplier at first, but now I understand.

Maybe you should care what some of us out here are thinking cuz being good and being respected is what high school sports is about!

On any day of the week I want to see a high school coach develop a team not construct a team!

The obvious answer – no, when people start talkin bout competition and predictions and such too many don’t like the unfair advantage CPA has created so it’s gonna come up. Only a fair discussion when comparing apples to apples, as is NOT the case here. Didn’t you admit as much in a response of yours to OfftheRecord, a post you found agreement? What do you think Off’s post was saying – “if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck…? You even said “There is always a fine line between trying to be your best with noble intent, and compromising to ge(t) there.†I’ll wait around and see if my prediction comes true - no matter how much success CPA has this year or following don’t expect too many congrats. P.S. You should quit talking like you know what really goes on and then get all mad when someone disagrees with you cuz you’ve already confessed you don’t have any real connection anymore.

I am having a hard time thinking you even believe that prediction. This is not the boxing where you get to stay the champ until somebody beats you, need to base it on what is lost or gained from previous year if going to give it a good attempt!

Congrats to two of the top 5th and 6th grade teams in the country. Team 147 national runner up in 6th grade YBOA and WACG national champs in 5th grade AAU. way to represent Tennessee boys. good job.

We all know how it is being done, families being attracted to the school’s outstanding reputation who are willing to pay and has nothing to do with undue influence from private lessons, AAU, money or jobs finding its way to those in need. So remind me what is the topic – CPA having the talent to win state or how it has been done and its effects on others? I think you made the point by bringing up those who don’t get to play any longer - the subject can never simply be related to the competition any longer, a sad state of affairs on CPA’s contribution to high school athletics. This is the case for all schools who take the college approach in its flawed attempt to build a high school program. There should be more to support the way it is suppose to be since neither the rules or the philosophy of high school athletics has changed.

You asked a question, I gave an answer. A lot more truth floating around on CoachT then you give it credit for. At this time with so many ways to obtain and spread information, it is very rare when accusations don't have a foundation. I can't think of any recent examples when that isn't the case anymore, there isn't truth to what simply started out as accusations and denials, can you?

So what you are saying is if you knew me well and you read something about me on coacht, you’d just let it go? Sorry, not buying it. CPA could choose to be more proactive. Ask the TSSAA to come in and investigate how these kids came to be at CPA and how tuition is being paid. Why allow this to continue to swirl around the program if nothing to hide?

Hey, I didn't realize UT was operating from a Christian philosophy like CPA and the two are a good comparison - NOT. Sounds to me like you are a former parent and your kid is an alum? And you know the administration well. You take the time to post quite frequently, have you taken the time to pick up the phone and talk to the administration about the concerns and what is being said? I am willing to take the time to put my 2cents in, just don't care what is accomplished cause nothing special about it.

My 2cents, who really cares outside of CPA? Any average coach can win the way CPA allows Maddux to build the program, so what’s the big deal? We all know anyone can have their reasons why they don’t win. The real question to answer - Has there been the talent to do better than what’s been done the last 5 years? The obvious answer is yes and getting beyond the region only once during that time says enough. What’s the CPAMaddux solution – get more talent. CPA fans want to be enamored with their talent at the expense of principle, so be it. I doubt if they will get many congratulations no matter what is accomplished. And is it simply a private school matter? No way, cuz the idea there is enough good to outweigh the bad should be a troubling statement for anyone associated with a Christian school. Time to wake up and demand the bad is dealt with, quit excusing it!

How did the Memphis team look? How did Team 147 beat them? Those kids are incredible! Saw them play at MBA earlier. DR.NO you sound like you are close to this team. Good kids?

How did the tourney finish? Heard the Memphis team is a monster.

Speaking of good jobs, CPA has gotten ripped off with Coach Maddux. This guy has underachieved every year he has been at CPA. And everybody knows it.Just like in his own HS career he has never won the big games, even with the most talent on the court. Lets take a peek at the facts. 1. Maddux, Mercer and more...most talent in the state...cant win the big game. 2. CPA fires Ken Brooks who takes a team to the state final four with far less talent than Maddux has. 3. CPA lets go Coach Oatsvall who takes the girls team to the state final four with far less talent than they have now. 4. CPA lets go David Pack who won 2 state championships. 5. CPA fires volleyball coach who takes team to state. 6. CPA fires Jay Mathews... who everyone says is a great coach and even better Man! All these coaches built the program and did it the right way. What have CPA got from Maddux? A terrible identity and perception all over middle Tennessee. And that is the facts!

I was thinking the same thing, how convenient to leave out the one aspect that made the CPA team what it is, the kids who have “shown up†the last two years. BTW, wouldn’t it be better to wait on any predictions til you know who might “show up†to join next year’s team? Let’s wait and see if it is another banner “attracting†year.

Went to the game. My mind is blown. TEAM 147 57-29 in a blow out win. This is a unbelievable 6th grade team. WOW! Must have been 400-500 people there to watch 11 and 12 year olds.

Word on the street is that Team 147 out of Nashville and WACG all stars are playing a exhibition game Friday night. Does anybody have any info? Word is that these are two of the top teams in the country.

Cause there is a realization of the system in place. Those who think multiple players end up in the same place at same time by parents initiating all the contact on their own are either naïve or in denial. Such is the current state of high school athletics.

That's cause what you call recruiting violations, they call ministering to those with size, athleticism and skill and how can ministry be wrong?
