Bluebomber,I heard that both games will be on Charter cable here in blount county on channel 16.I don't know about the rest of the area.It may be shown on Ihigh too,but if it was like last year you may have to wait a couple days for the replay.

Well let me clarify a few things.Yes you have to pay city and county taxes in blount county,even if you dont have property in the county.I live and own a home in Alcoa,and get a bill every year for city and then from county,wanting their money.I have no kids,but some of that revenue goes to the schools.Its a part of life so deal with it.Alcoa and Maryville are right in the middle of blount county so they want their cut too.Since I pay taxes to both.If I had kids I could send them to Alcoa,william blount or heritage,but not maryville,because I dont pay maryville city taxes on property.The amount I pay is close to the same amount to both alcoa city and blount county.If you live in Blount County,you only pay county taxes,but you do not get the services that the city provides.When I paid Tuition at Alcoa in 81 it was 200.00 a year.Yes alcoa has always been open zone and we use to get kids that went to county schools back then also.Its nothing new,but by the talk around here,it is made out to be.On another question about renters paying taxes.I lived in a Mobile Home park about 20 years ago.I owned my Home,but rented the lot.My first year there the park manager brought me a bill saying it was my part on property taxes.I told him it was not in the lease and that he should pay his own property taxes with the 150.00 a month I gave him to live there.He said I had to pay and I said take me to court.Never heard from him again and I lived there about 4 more years.

I am going to try and say what I think would be fair,as to the OOZ thang.Its gone on way to long.First off if you live in Alcoa or Maryville you can also go to either of the County schools free of charge,cause you pay property taxes to the city you live in and the county you live in.If you are zoned in the county and you want to go to either City school,all you need to do is pay the school what your property taxes would be in either maryville or Alcoa,but it should only count what your house is valued at,because some of these kids live on alot of acres.If you rent a house in the county.It should be on some type of sliding scale based on how much your rent is.When it comes down to Alcoa and Maryville swapping players.I think the only fair thing to do is move to that part of town.Any kid living outside of Blount County should have to pay whatever the average property tax in Alcoa or Maryville is.Blount county should not be in the equation,because you wont find kids going there from knoxville.Plus their parents pay taxes where they live.The county should not make money off of this,since they have no dog in the fight.They do not put money into either City School.I know some would pay more than others,but that is how it works out when you pay both city and county taxes anyway.Some pay more cause their house is worth more.It aint perfect by any standard,but on paper it would be fair.These kids should be able to be free to go to whatever school they want to,if they pay taxes to that school.

How many times has this got to be said.If you want to go to an alcoa city school and get a fantastic education and or participate in sports or band or cheerleading or anything else the school offers and you live outside the city limits you can pay tuition and attend this great school.You have to make passing grades and be a good citizen.It is up to the parents to put you in ,Alcoa does NOT go out and recruit players,If this was true we would also be winning state championships in all the other sports.I or anyone else cannot explain it any clearer than this.If you or anyone else cannot understand,then question your own school system for your shortcomings.Good grief the dang horse is dead already.If you or anyone else has any proof that Alcoa is cheating I implore you to contact the TSSAA and turn them in with the proof.

100% agree.The film needs to be looked at closely and action must be taken.all players and or coaches that did anything should be punished.I turned to another channel with about a minute and a half left in the game so I did not watch the awards being handed out.

I Agree with you 100%,but let me ask you one thing was there any taunting from greenvilles sidelines toward trezavants(sp) team?I know after the memphis team does the flagrant things that the camera pans over to greenvilles side lines and the greenville players are 10-15 yards out on the field making gestures to the other team.Did anyone else see this?The game got out of control from not only the coaches,but the officials also.I am pretty sure that someone from the TSSAA office was at the game and I bet game film will be reviewed.All players and coaches should be dealt with.The officiating crew should be dressed down also.

That dude needs to go.You know man one of the reasons I loved about going to Alcoa was the diversity of the school.This kind of stuff being said here is completely wrong.I cant even put into words how this make's me feel.That it is even still in this forum is amazing to me.I am not even going to stay on this thread any more.It needs to be either cleaned or shut down.

If you go to the TSSAAnetwork.com site you can get the DVD of your school's game for a little less than $45.00.That includes shipping.If my memory is correct,Alcoa was selling them a couple of years ago at school.Not sure that is still done.You know how the TSSAA is.Check with your school next week.They may be doing the same thing.It may even put some money in the schools pocket.Congradulations on football team's State Championship.

I agree GovMan.I thought the games that had Mike Keith were a lot better.Announcer wise that is.They kept messing up last night when ALCOA was playing also.Great job REBELS.Does this mean we get to have a parade this year?
