  1. I am talking with friend I graduated with that works for a knoxville television station. He use to do some work with channel 3 years back, and when he was in Highschool at Alcoa.Give me a couple of days and I will talk more about it.I will help all that I can.I just want the best minds I can gather on this subject.
  2. Hey twister are you still will to offer your technical expertise to the Ihigh crew? [/quo yes if I can help.Do they have an issue? If so can you give me a heads up,or do they just need help in general.
  3. Sorry man.I guess.........I could not understand any of this, but ok.
  4. I agree 100% and I really meant no disrespect to CAK.Without actually playing the game it is all assumption. On paper you can always win a game.
  5. I agree that we want to play the best teams on the way to the finals, but we already beat CAK by 17 points, what do we have to prove? and if polk were able to beat them then they would be next in line. Now lets just say CAK beat us the last couple of years to face Milan.I am not so sure they would have beaten Milan.Would their O be good enough to beat their D.I thought Milan had a pretty good D.Would CAK be able to handle milan when they had the ball.I think Alcoa has always had a good combination of both, and the game is always about match upsI will give you the goodpasture and their middle school offence. This is JMO.I respect yours also.......GO TORNDOES
  6. For all the Polk people that want a look at Alcoa here is a link. You can also get a look at cak.Our game with them is on there also. You will need to have high speed internet. No 56ker's. http://cache.ihigh.com/alcoa/
  7. Since this is a Cak vs Polk thread, and I am a Alcoa fan I did not think I should post here, but since afew posters bring up the fact that alcoa would rather play cak than polk I had to jump in and say that I believe most Alcoa fans would rather play polk not because Alcoa is scared of CAK.Why would we be?We match up better with polk cause we are built to stop the run.I also like for everyone to get a taste of what they have been missing.I do not know any of the cak people so I cant say I hope they win cause I really dont care. This goes for the state championship too.I dont want to play either goodpasture or milan.I want to play a different team. They have had their chance. Its alot more enjoyable to see what other teams have to offer,so to all the polk people do your best to win this game.I personally don't think you have a snowball's chance!
  8. I have to admit that alot of us male students use to call him ottis c behind his back.I would always call him Mr.Abbott when I addressed him cause we still had paddling when I went there, and believe me you did not want to get a whippin from Mr.Abbott................Sorry for calling you ottis c .........Sir
  9. Will Alcoa have to travel this year in the playoff's? If so which games will that be? My personal belief is that all number one seeds should have home field advantage all the way through the playoffs. That is one of the things you work for all season IMO.
  10. What's wrong with scoring half a hundred and winning by 17?
  11. I do not want to belittle kids at all.If it sounded like that then I am sorry.I am a Alcoa graduate and consider myself to be pretty handy with computers and have worked with pro sound along with audio video installation. If they ever need a hand next year with anything I would like to volunteer my time to help out in any way I can.I will never demean a child .
  12. I wonder out of the 4,500 views on Ihigh. How many got to view it.I tried the whole game and it kept saying the game has yet to start.I never got to watch it.Someone else directed me to a espn website where I could listen to the game.I have never been able to watch a whole game on Ihigh.Last weeks game started then went down and never came back on.I would rather listen to the game if I'm not able to see it live.
  13. That was a great football game.CAK played a great game and i hope that we play them at home again in the playoff's.I went to CAK last year and was not impressed with the officiating at that game at all.I don't want to get Cak fans started with all this, but I have been told that this happens alot there.I do know that I saw some bad calls last year. This does not take away from the fact that CAK has a fine football team
  14. Well with all my crying and complaining i got to listen to the second half of the game .one of the play by play guys said you could listen to the alcoa games on eastmaryvillebaptist.org website. If any alcoa people are reading this then bookmark this website so you will be able to listen in the future.I also bookmarked the espn website that was given above.I guess I should now say I was wrong,so i was wrong. This was a really good game, kudos to cak. They have a fine football team.
  15. Thanks for the website info.I contacted ihigh and they said that the people at alcoa has yet to turn it on at their end.Its the biggest game of the year for both teams for gosh sakes.like I said before I have never got this website to work wheather its ihighs or alcoas problem, but either way thanks for this website at least I can listen to the game.
  16. this is not the first time this has happened.I have yet to ever get to watch a game in its entirety.last week it started and after a couple of minutes it just went off and never came back on.but what really gets me is Alcoa does not have a radio station that even carries their games on the internet.I bet if I wanted to listen to a maryville game I could find several radio stations running their games. You would think that with that many state titles someone would carry the games.
  17. I have tried numerous times to use this website to watch Alcoa play and it never works.I'm on high speed internet,I got silverlight installed and still nothing. It is always something. The cak and alcoa game was suppose to be on at 7:20 and I still can.t get it.You would think that they would have all the bugs worked out now that its the 10th game of the year.i would rather listen to the game on the radio, but oh I forgot we don't have a radio station in alcoa that carries the games over the internet.I guess thats a price I pay for not being in the area anymore.
  18. No McMinn Central is not in the district, but we played them last year when they were suppose to of had a good team.It is a home and away 2 year deal.Just like your 2 year deal with betsy.I would guess to say they were better last year than this year right?
  19. Â Â Â Let me start off with saying I graduated from Alcoa in 81.I came into the system in the middle of my seventh grade. It was Alcoa junior High back in the day.I transfered in from Forest hill.My parents had just divorced, and I went to live with my grandparents in Alcoa.I had to pay because they were not my legal guardians.the first person to befriend me was kid named Todd Upton or as everyone called him BIG UP.Until that time all I ever knew was white people, now here I was going to a new school with not only white kids I did not know, but around black kids I had never been around before.I soon found out that was the least of my problems.I was about a year and half behind what was being taught.I was in serious danger of being set back.I had made good grades in the past, but they were so far ahead of anything I had done. The teachers worked with me to get me up to speed and I passed on to the eighth grade. When I got to High school.I got to pick the classes I wanted to attend,or so I thought.I was called to Mrs.Upton's office(BIG UP'S mom)I sat down and she said child were going to have a talk ,which turned out to me having a listen. She scratched out most of what I wanted to do and put in what I was going to do.She always said she would never give me more than what I was able to handle. She always called us her children. It did not matter to her that I was white and she was black, she loved all her white children like she loved her black children and she wanted you to succeed in school and life. She is great lady.I played football, but was never great.I loved every minute at Alcoa and have made lifelong friends.I knew everyone in school and everyone knew me.There is so much more to going to Alcoa than just football, but you would just of had to of gone there to see what I mean.So when you say football is why these kids come to Alcoa, why don't you ask the kids why they go.I bet you get an answer you do not want to hear.
