Don’t know what the issue was but honestly the punt was a deal several weeks in the making. Long story short our long snapper hurt his elbow a few weeks back. He is also one of our sophomore LBs. Last night they had someone else snapping instead. After that snap our usual long snapper went back in so a lot of thing helped the wheels fall off early. Like you said to have a shot we had to play our best game. York sure didn’t need any help and the first quarter we definitely didn’t do ourselves any favors for sure. Either way we’ll learn and hopefully get better from it.

Ours went just as bad.Constantly put ourselves in 1st and 15 or 1st and 20 with silly penalties.Defense played well but Offense just killed all momentum.

Thanks Southtower, was a heck of a game. Both teams put it all on the line and we made the plays we needed to win. We really don't throw that much but our QB put the team on his shoulders last night. Played a Monster of a game.

That is the way an experienced playoff team plays!I'm going with Hampton this week.Didnt know if you all could throw it that well--Question answered!

I hope we come out and play like they did last week. It sounded like that had a chip on their shoulder. That’s what we need. I know these boys hate the way some of these games have gone and they know from the past what it takes to win. I have faith that they will give their all. Good luck tonight I hope they win.

    Me too!!!

GFD, I don't think you or OnB are downing the team at all. I get the frustration. To a certain degree, you aren't even downing the coach really, but the situation ... or the reason for the situation, I guess I should say. When something like this happens at a school without tradition, then no one really notices. But when it happens to a place like Greenback, if it happened to us, then there would be a lot of frustration. Can you imagine Alcoa or Oakland going through what you all are going through?

    Bingo!

If coach Lambert was coaching this bunch there would be know doubt they would beat York.  Onieda just not the same since he left. They need him back!!

It would probably end up 0-0!LOL

Tony could D-up!!His thoughts on offense left alot to be desired tho.

It’s truly sad the way people think they can do the man‘s job better than he can and call him stupid and an idiot. I feel bad for the guy. I know I know.. y’all will say.. I don’t understand.. and maybe I don’t.. but he went and beat the #1 seed last Friday.

Well 03 there are really only 2 posters on our threads that speak their mind and that is Gfd and myself.I ALWAYS give credit were credit is DUE.I also call a spade a spade and this was a political hire for the City of Loudon not Greenback and that is what is sad!I respect you as a poster and always have and will but this goes a whole lot deeper than what is typed on a message board.I will give him credit this week because after the Cloudland he spoke in a interview with the Daily Times and finally admitted that HE put in in a terrible spot more than once the first time at OS instead of putting on the players. So my hat is off for that interview BUT does not change my view of what was done to our program the last 3 years.I still believe in our Greenback Cherokees in my opinion some of the best football players and athletes in 1A ball most years!Let's roll Cherokees!

Good luck to you and all the Pirates hope you NEVER have to deal with a mess like this.
