  1. If anyone has an update on Jacob West's injury...would like to know. Ones looked sharp tonight in first half...defense was especially good. SC was outmatched from the get-go. Whoever yelled the "predictable" comment tonight from the crowd was classic! Go Rebs!
  2. details, details....I love it. If people can't get to the game and find a parking spot now, there's no hope for 'em.
  3. Your a good man. Greyrider needs a little help every now and then!
  4. I'm a Milan boy as well...just moved to Maryville this summer. I was at the Milan/Alcoa championship game the last 2 years and I must say that Alcoa looks even tougher this year...having seen them play Maryville in week 1. Not sure this will be Milan's year (you never know!), but I am hoping the next couple of years shape up well for the Dawgs, as Milan is very young (replaced all 11 starters on offense - right?) and Alcoa loses several senior starters this year. I'm sure Alcoa will re-load as usual, but they do seem to be losing a lot of size/strength and leadership. I think Alcoa could beat just about anybody in the state this year, regardless of class. However, I still bleed purple... GO DAWGS!!!
  5. Total domination...half a hundred to zip!
  6. Hey Scots50 - You guys (Raiders) played a great game on Saturday. We just moved here from Milan and my son played on the Rebs this fall. He was not a happy guy after the double OT loss to you all, but I must say that the game could have easily been 21-0 in regulation. You guys moved the ball well and just outplayed our team. Congrats on the victory! Even in defeat, I love watching the boys play.
  7. LOL...Yep...the neighborhood has just went down the drain. Seriously, welcome mp4rebs to Maryville. The sooner we can turn you into a "we" the better. I was at that game in 77, I believe that was at Vanderbilt, wasn't it? Thanks guys, I'm glad to be here! The quality of life in East TN is great! Combine that with good football and I'm in heaven! Here's to a great weekend...
  8. Got it. WE beat Maryville in the '77 State Championship game! However, now I'm pulling FOR Murvul, especially since my son is a future WE! Sorry, I couldn't resist! Go Rebels!
  9. yes, I deserved that...it's getting late! Until next time...
  10. Actually, it was because I heard Shaq was here!
  11. I did go to the Bearden game...and you're right - the fans were more into it. My guess is once the playoffs get here, the folks get a little more rowdy. I know Jeff well...he is a good friend of mine. Great guy. Me and him have swapped old football stories and are both glad to be here in Murvul. This is a great place to be! Looking forward to being a part of the tradition here...my son is coming up through the ranks now and loves it already!
  12. Ok, this is my first post on coach t...so be gentle! Just moved to Maryville a couple of months ago from Milan, and I must say - the football around here is pretty darn good (except for tonight!). From what I've seen (and experienced with my son in the midget league), the coaching here is top-notch. The athletes may actually be a little better in Milan, but they are not as well coached. And, it starts with the youth football leagues...they are much better here. There is no comparison, and it hurts to admit that. Anyway, this post is not about Milan, it about Maryville... Now to the game tonight... Not impressed with the focus (or lack thereof) Maryville had tonight. Very ugly game...no telling how many penalties we had. I'm thinking we could have won by 3-4 touchdowns if we hadn't kept killing drives with penalties. There was no real rhythm or excitement to the game, and the crowd seemed very subdued. Probably lucky to come out on top, as we never really put Catholic totally away. At least not until that last defensive stand. Other notes: Hope Horne will be okay - he's a real asset and will be needed down the road. Love watching Prevo - he's a threat to score every time he touches the ball. And...he's a freshman! The crowds at Maryville need to be louder. It seems like a lot of the folks sit on their hands...not sure if it's from years of being spoiled with win after win, but we need to find a way to get that place rockin' a little bit more! Go Rebels!
