  1. The Bearden Job was posted on the Knox County Website. It only has to be up for 10 days per county policy. I would say that they know what they want to do though.
  2. They cannot name a coach until after Dec. 14. that is when the job closes and they must interview all certified applicants from within the county before they can name a coach. I would expect it to be after Christmas before there is an announcement.
  3. I know how difficult that offense is to stop. I also know they do a good job limiting possessions. Was just asking what others thought about the game. Wanted more than the score. I love that offense because even if you defend it perfectly it can really bite you.
  4. That is fine I see this one going either way That triple option is hard to handle. Just curious why you think Gibbs pulls it out?
  5. Clinton 28 Halls 10 Central 45 Gibbs 35 CC 28 Powell 17 AC 35 OR 31 If Thackerson does not play I see a lot of wildcat with Drake Powell. They Should be able to run on Halls. Halls D is not athletic. Space really is not a Central Fan. I think this game is interesting. Gibbs is not nearly as big up front as OR, AC, or CC which gives Central Trouble. Their D has improved a little lately. The thing that separates them is speed and athleticism. If Central has all of their weapons then they will score a lot on this Gibbs team which is good because I do not know if Central will be able to stop the Triple Option. It is so hard to defend. CC will beat Powell because it appears that they have not recovered from the loss of their two studs. If Powell wants to have any chance then they must tackle well. CC may not have the speed that some of the other teams have but their are athletic and tough. It takes a gang mentality to tackle those guys. They come to hit. I think the added excitement of a possible district title will be the extra motivation CC needs to stay out in front. AC is the best running team in the district. OR ha the best front 7 that AC has seen. This will be interesting. I think the key to beating AC is to force them to throw. I know some AC fans may get upset but they cannot throw nearly as well as they could in the past. The QB is a great athlete playing QB. He throws it ok but I have not seen anything that would convince me that he could beat you with his arm. This is not a shot at the kid. Any team would love to have him, just saying that the weakest part of his game is passing. Unfortunately the weakest part of the OR D is the pass coverage. I think they get lost at times. I think they kind of have a bend but don't break mentality. Should be a great game. Just think ultimately that AC has enough of a passing game to get it done because you have to pay so much attention to Fox and co in the backfield.
  6. Watch for Howard #10, Washington #12, and Kirby the QB #16. They have been throwing the ball a lot more so focusing on Stinson in the run game is harder. The D is always a question mark for them. Who knows with that group if they will be any good. You would think they might be better than they have played. The Offense has been pretty good.
  7. They were lucky to escape the Dragons and the Officiating. A few bad calls in that game really hurt Central. That being said, Clinton had things clicking and Central one again could not seem to stop anyone. I am sure Central does not want to see Clinton again.
  8. OR over CC 31-28 AC over Central 28-27 Powell over Clinton 49-21 Karns over Hall 34-17
  9. I think Karns wins this one by a couple of scores or more. Karns has shown flashes of being a good football team. Juat not enough horses. Hall is the worst football team I have seen in Knoxville in 20 years. Karns 34 - Halls 17
  10. OK. Was not sure. Sounds like they may be figuring it out. You were not impressed with Central I assume? Still not sure what to think about them. They beat Powell but does not sound like they were impressive. They gave Fulton a Fight early I understand after talking to a Fulton Guy (He would not say that publicly though, they hate each other). Scored twice on their first team D which has not been done. Had a good game Plan and gave them a little trouble early. Gave up two punt returns but moved the ball a little through the air. Had trouble tackling those guys but everybody does. That Fulton team is incredible.
  11. What was the difference in their play? Did not get to see the game? Wondering what happened that would have changed the outcome.
  12. Are you just looking for someone to say something stupid so you can insult them. Who in their right mind would call AC an underdog in this game? I do think that the game may be close. but AC has to be the favorite. As for the statement that if you stop Stinson you stop Central, that is true. I would argue that that is true of most of the teams in this district. Stop Owenby and you stop Powell. Stop the big receiver at CC you stop them. Stop the RB at AC you stop them. That is not new. Before I get the argument that there are other players on those teams that can score, I know the Hicks kid is special, the Garden kid a Powell is good. The QB at CC can find other receivers. Central has The Howard kid that can play. I would say that the point is that those guys are hard to stop and if you can you got a good shot at winning.
  13. Powell could but I do not think that will happen. I think Powell will figure it out. You never know the AC Powell games are almost always good games to watch. I think your top teams are correct. Excited to see AC vs OR, OR vs CC, AC vs Central and OR vs Central. Think you are right though AC is the top team then there is everybody else. CC has a leg up on Central due to their win. That is why I want to see OR vs the rest.
  14. Lets Pick and discuss Powell at Anderson Co. 13 - 35 Gibbs at Oak Ridge 14 - 31 Campbell Co. at Halls 42 - 0 Clinton at Karns 28 - 14 Central at Fulton (no need to pick this one) 7 - 10000000000000000000 Powell can run it a little but they are in a tail spin. Not sure how close this one will be. AC seems to be the region front runner. Gibbs runs an offense that can be tough to defend but Oak Ridge will pull away with this one. They are too strong and athletic. Campbell Co. is the surprise this year. They can win this one by as many as they want. Do not know what to think about Clinton. Karns can surprise you with a little speed but do not think it will be enough. Clinton will double them up. Central and Fulton. Not sure there is any discussion needed.
