  1. That's good for EHS then... I think Greeneville only had 7 seniors this year too...they are an impressive team that I really wish we didn't have to play. Can't figure out the way these conferences are set up at all!
  2. I don't remember how many turnovers EHS made but I definitely recall the ones CDHS made. Yes that's part of the game but good teams don't make many of them do they? Not sure who EHS plays next but at least CDHS gave them a good fight tonight. As I said before, I think that surprised a few people! And fortunately, CD has several returning players for next year. Some of the key players are seniors and they will be missed though...
  3. Well, I am proud of CDHS! That huge turnover/fumble when we were close to going ahead (on the 15 or 20 yard line) sort of took the wind out of our sails! But our guys put up a good fight. The intentional grounding call was pathetic, but other than that I'd say the refs did a decent job. I'm not sure what questionable call would have made the score 37 to 14, but I do think that the Black Knights surprised a few Elizabethton fans and players. I had said all week that we were outmatched and that proved to be true, however, we still fought. Too many mistakes that were capitalized on by EHS...
  4. I'm wondering why CDHS should even suit up and take the field??? Are they outmatched? Yes...but I sure hope their heart leads them to play hard tonight. Do you think those kids know that some EHS fans are giving them no chance? I wonder about that...I'm all about school pride but you don't have to be mean spirited about it do you? Is it CD's fault that TSSAA seeded the teams this way? NO! Maybe they looked at EHS vs GHS score and saw it was about the same as theirs was...
  5. For the record, it's Chuckey-Doak. I'm sure you get offended when GreenEville gets misspelled! But you are right about SGHS beating CDHS badly...that was hard to watch!
  6. Well, I happen to know for a fact that the QB did not have a concussion this season or last. I was at that game and I recall him taking a hard hit. The trainer checked him out and there was no concussion or I am positive he would not have gone back in the game. Criticism of coaches is common and even expected, but your facts are wrong so I'm just setting the record straight.
  7. What game did this happen in? I sure haven't heard anything about that happening at CD this year or last year for that matter. The same kid was the starting QB last year, too. I'm curious....
  8. You are correct that there are some new bleachers on the visitors side. For the GHS game, some metal temporary bleachers were brought in so I expect the same for the EHS game since I hear they have quite a following of fans. I assume CDHS administration will anticipate a big crowd of visitors. That was my point with that statement.
  9. I am concerned that you're going to be extremely disappointed with the CDHS stadium. I've always thought EHS had a nice facility, at least in comparison to ours. We don't even have seats...just concrete slabs to sit on for the home side. They've moved in some portable metal bleachers for the visiting teams now. But "Back in Black" should be playing...that's still happening 30 years later! And just in case you want to call me dude again, how's dudette work for you?
  10. I have no idea what players were on the field when Unaka played CDHS...that's not what I was referring to. A previous post had stated that Unaka was 1A and CDHS was 3A. I looked on TSSAA and found out that Unaka is listed as 2A. That's my point.
  11. Yes, I'm aware of that fact and it is very much appreciated. I believe we can thank Mr. Niswonger for many donations, some of which were for the county high school band programs that previously didn't exist. I'm curious then; how is GHS football stadium funded? Does GHS receive more donations than the other schools or is just taxpayer funded? It's obvious how much nicer their stadium is than any county schools stadium. It gets old hearing criticism of the CDHS facilities. We play with the hand we are dealt...that's my point.
  12. Actually, it is "Back in Black" by ACDC...you know the CDHS mascot is the Black Knight. That tradition was started 30 years ago. As for the woods, I guess you could call the line of trees at one end of the football field woods, but that's where the field has always been located. Our football facilities in Greene County don't compare with GHS or Elizabethton or many other high schools around East Tennessee. We don't have Jason Witten or Scott Niswonger giving money to enhance our facilities. I mean, it is what it is! And who doesn't like a fog/smoke machine? Hello, it's high school football! Have fun while you can! Are the Black Knights outmatched against the Cyclones? Probably so, but if you only went by that why would anyone ever suit up and play the game?
  13. Just for the record, according to TSSAA; CDHS is 3A and Unaka is 2A.
