  1. I have to agree, the 5AA district is a joke. You have 7 in the Chattanooga district, at least move Chattanooga Central or East Ridge in to 5AA. That would give the 3 area districts 6 each. You would think that with 17, 18 if you count Collegedale, in the 3 districts that they could figure something out.
  2. I was really impressed with Kingston's running game last week. The misdirection and off tackle stuff gave Polk a fit. That being said, I watched the CAK and Alcoa game and have to admit those two teams are in a different league. Wishing the best for both teams, but have to give the edge to CAK in this one.
  3. Just my opinion, but I think Zack Miller from Polk County deserves a little recognition. Final stats are 1928 yards rushing on 257 carries and 22 touchdowns in 11 games.
  4. Although I don't agree with it (they did the same thing to Polk last year) it is the defenses job to stop them. Like I said, I don't agree with it, but I can't really fault them either.
  5. Ha! I don't know, read my post, I said Alcoa and CAK should have been 1 & 2. And yes, you are right, there are common opponents, but it gets a little messy. Polk beat MC and Sweetwater, MC beat Sweetwater but lost to Kingston. Loudon beats Sweetwater, MC and Kingston. Tyner beats SM and CC, Polk loses to SM but beats CC. Sweetwater loses to MC and Polk. But anyway, the point is, yeah, the seedings could have been better.
  6. Dude, I didn't disagree with you. I do understand your frustration. Like I said, I don't like it either, but not sure that it is going to get fixed anytime soon. As far as the seedlings go, no doubt that Alcoa and CAK should have been 1 & 2 in the quad, but not sure how you determine where the other teams fall. Regardless, to your argument, if Alcoa is #1 and CAK #2, then you are probably not playing them in the first round.
  7. That's why you play the game! Did not see this happening. Congrats on a hard fought win against a very good team.
  8. Man chief15! You seem to be very bitter over this playoff thing. I understand your frustration, but this mess is not Polk's fault. I agree that District 5 is week, but you can't judge everything by a score. Kingston was much better than Polk tonight, no doubt. But by your logic how good is Alcoa since they only beat the number 4 team by 10? I think you and I both know the answer to that question. I don't like the new playoff format either, but it is what it is. Even if you would have played Polk tonight and won, you would still be playing CAK or Alcoa next week. That's the problem with our quad, you have to play one of them sometime.
  9. They scored just about any way they wanted too. Polk never stopped them in the first half. They moved the ball at will, especially outside and through the air. INT return for a TD, long runs, passing, you name it, they did it. Polk turned the ball over on downs at the 6, a fumble and 2 INT's in the first half. The game was really never in question for Kingston. Best of luck next week at CAK.
  10. Hmmm. I give! You win! Obviously you have your reasons. I have mine as well. CAK averages 50 points a game, for Alcoa to hold them to 28 would be something that only one other team has done. As far as CAK pulling one out, I can't help but think about last years fiasco when Alcoa was up by 14 and still got beat. Yeah, I know, different team, different year, but just saying.....CAK finds a way to win. Would love to be at this game, but have other commitments. I will however be tuning in to 100.3 to listen. Best of luck to both teams tonight!
  11. Meaning what? You don't like my logic? Sorry, I did not know we couldn't have an opinion. Ok, so Alcoa wins by 20. Does that make you feel better?
  12. Should be one of the best games all year. The biggest question will be if Alcoa can stop the CAK offense. I don't know if CAK can stop Alcoa, so this could be a high scoring affair. I think Alcoa will give CAK all they can handle, but CAK always seems to find a way to win. I think CAK takes this one 28-27.
  13. This has blow out written all over it, but I've been around this rivalry for several years. Meigs has nothing to lose - senior night, last game of the year, possibly the last time these two teams play for a while, playing at home, etc. Something tells me that this game will be closer than what most people think. I think Polk still wins, but I'm saying Polk 26-6 over the Tigers.
  14. Tough call on this game. I see this game as a toss up. Both teams run the ball well. Both have similar losses (Polk to Bradley) and (SM to Blackman), and both teams are traditional hard nosed football teams. Polk is a well disciplined team but they are prone to turning the ball over. That may cost them in this game. This game should be fun to watch! SM at home with a revenge factor might give them the slight edge here. Hoping the Cats pull one out, but this game definately concerns me.
