  1. Thanks GLJ. U r da man!! And boy how bad is my menory. I thought I posted that 2 years ago, not last year! I guess I truly am getting old.
  2. I already got a response from GLJ. I don't know if you remember or saw the original but I wouldn't say anything that should ge pulled. But........................ I can say you will be one of the new characters, especially since some have "retired" from their duties (wink, wink - CU)
  3. It looks like I am getting close to putting together another Volleyball theatrical debut (this is probably only somewhat familiar to the "true" long time posters on the Vball site). Just need a couple more posts or posters to get shut down!
  4. That was everyone for the entire state of TN.

  6. I'm pretty sure the Tennessean has their facts wrong. The match count was 35 this past season, using the exact same formula.
  7. I went back and double-checked our schedule this past season and we played 23 "regular matches" (2 matches were cancelled) and 4 tournaments for a total of 33 matches (as they calculate it). I know we maxed out our schedule, per the state rules. Also, in the 4 tournaments we played, we had a total of 28 matches. When you add in the District, Region and State Tournament, we played a total of 58 matches for the year! I believe our girls played plenty of matches, when you look at it on a per week basis (regular season), we averaged 3.3 matches M - F and 4 matches a weekend, based on the 7 weeks allowed for the "regular" season. What I liked best about the reduction this past season, was it truly cut down on the number of "multiple" matches in one night, during the week. I think that was a good thing. Now, whether or not the season itself (# of weeks) should be longer, I would say yes, maybe by at least another week or 2.
  8. I believe it is the exact same formula and total as this past season. This past season there was a reduction in total match count.
  9. GO to this link to see up-to-date info from the NAIA tournament, that started today: http://naia.cstv.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/112006aag.html Unfortunately, Lee, King and Georgetown all lost their opening matches!
  10. A couple of others I saw, that I don't remember from the last 3 years were "ACTS" and "Irish Setters" both out of the Knoxville area. Also, what about "Colonial Heights", aren't they new??
  11. Here's a link (that P4K refers to) of teams in TN. Go about half way down to get past all of the AL & GA clubs: http://www.srva.org/Clubs.php?juniors
  12. The NAIA National tournament will be held in Columbia, MO starting November 29 and running through December 2. There are 2 teams from TN (Lee U. and King) that qualified and another team very close to my heart, from KY that made it. Here's link to teams that qualified: http://naia.cstv.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/111906aaf.html My daughter and I were at the Region XI final in Lebanon and watched a great finals match between Freed Hardeman(sp?) and Georgetown College. Gtown finally pulled it out in game 5 but it was an exciting match to watch!
  13. Georgetown College defeated Campellsville (3-1) in the Mid-South championship yesterday. I'm guessing that will give GCU the #1 seed for the Region XI tournament next weekend in Lebanon.
  14. I believe they will be announced this Sunday (11/12) at the "Orientation" meeting.
  15. I know you didn't ask this but here's some other things to think about. One question is what are her college thoughts and goals? Does she want to play Vball in college or would she rather play softball or does she even want to play a sport in college? If the answer is, yes, she wants to play Vball in college, then the next question is what type of college would she like to attend (not play for)? Now how does her choice of colleges fit into the possibility of playing Vball? In other words (and I don't know your daughters skill level) you have to be "realistic" about your daughters skills and how they match up with the schools she might want to attend. If she really wants to play Vball, then you might have to consider smaller schools, or schools that are farther away, etc. Without going on forever, the bottom line is, the more "serious" she is about playing Vball in college, the more she should play "club".
  16. I would say the simple answer is it will affect the number of "possibilities" negatively. It doesn't mean she won't have opportunities to play in college but I guarantee you (depending on skill level) she will have "more" interest from potential schools playing club, than not.

  18. I totally agree. As a broken record, "my daughter would not being going to college next year, on a full ride, if not for club ball!
  19. By no means do I speak for everyone in the Chatt area but I am going to guess that many will be trying out for 2 clubs this year, since there is a new club in town, Choo-Choo in addition to Dig To Win.
  20. PM, congrats to Page and can't wait to see you next week!
  21. You guys, too. The big question still remains, will we play y'all this year (other than that playday way back in August)??
  22. GO19 can't wait to see you again next week! We'll need all the support we can get!!
  23. Thanks CU for the continued support! It was a little "agonizing" being in the stands, too. A great match was played by both teams and with the exception of 10 errors by OHS in Game 3, both teams truly earned their points. A lot of big kills and some great digs and blocks as well. It was tons of fun.
  24. Congrats to "the" team for winning the Region and that "Hall" girl for getting MVP!
