  1. I saw on TSSAA website that West Creek posted that they were looking for a head coach. I thought that they have been trying to hire for a couple of months now. Did they "reopen" the position? The date says 2/21/2012. What is going on over there?
  2. I know this is a 5-6a thread, but what about Montgomery Central? Where do they stand in the search for their coach?
  3. Who is this Tomlinson guy you speak of? Where is he now? What would he bring to the table for the Indians? Good luck in your search.
  4. Any new information concerning the Indians job? Will they stay in house?
  5. Does anyone have information on the Montgomery Central, Kenwood & West Creek jobs?
  6. Mathers recommitted to Ole Miss. I would like to see him @Vandy myself.
  7. OK, I guess I am going to just ask the question. Marionmadness, what makes you think that Mac is going to run the veer? Mac has enough pride in his hybrid wing system that he will not take job based on whether he has to run the veer or not. Unless........you know something the rest of us don't know? Do tell
  8. Any news on this job? I would think Wes Duncan would get this job. He has been in the Columbia area for sometime now with stints @ Columbia Academy and presently @ Columbia High. He may not even have applied, he just seems like a logical fit.
  9. Wow! Didn't he prep at LA? Was he Coach Swallows favorite target @ WR back in the late 90's? I may be off a year or 2, but I think they played together. Correct if I am wrong. I guess Coach Swallows went with someone he feels comfortable with. Can't blame him.
  10. Mac does not run the veer. Maybe fear the hybrid WingT. I would be surprised if Mac took the job based on the thought he would have to run the veer in order to get the job.
  11. Mac does not run the veer. He runs a Hybrid WingT. I cannot see him running the veer. I hope MC has some running backs that are ready to be converted to pulling guards.
  12. Allow me to take a stab at this. Coach Maynord has probably maxed out his state salary matrix. His retirement will be based on his 5 highest, consecutive years in TN. He has that while being Head coach and principal. With that being said, he may be looking for something that can pay him what he is getting now without having to teach much or be an administrator. Just be a coach. Pretty enticing. I am sure that Coach Swallows will give him the best situation that he is allowed within White County Bd of Ed rules. it will be interesting to see what happens.
  13. I sense sarcasm? Allow me to elaborate. From what I understand, the MS team went undefeated and along the way, beat their high school nemesis Jo Byrns. Not always, but in most cases with good coaching, successful MS teams turn out to be successful HS teams. sometimes it come down to a couple of kids deciding to play in high school or not. With all this being said, I do not have a dog in this hunt, but I was interested when I came across this topic. I have seen Jo Byrns, ER, Clarksville Academy, Houston County & McEwen play, but I have never seen WH-H play. Good luck.
  14. They should be getting some good players from their undefeated middle school team. Their MS coach must have done a heck of a job. Not sure who it is. Usually good MS teams equate into good HS teams. Good luck to WHH.
  15. They named Joe Moos as head football coach. The Tribune said it was during the football banquet.
  16. Wayne County-split back veer. South Pitt- spread (traditional wingT) Dresden-spread. Friendship CS- spread CAK - spread (west coast scheme). Milan - pro Greeneville - 2 tight zone. Maplewood - Pro Henry County - Pro. Powell - Spread Maryville-spread/2 backs. Whitehaven- pro. Ensworth-better players than anyone. Baylor-not as good of players as Ensworth. Not sure about other D II game. I really liked Greeneville's scheme. They are a spread zone team, but got in a 2 tight set that outnumbered Maplewood's 4-4 defense in the box. They just pounded the ball downhill. Wayne County's split back veer attack gave South Pitt fits, probably due to the fact that South Pitt has never faced it before and was hard to prepare for (unless Marion still runs it)
  17. No offense to anyone, but I would pick Harpeth as well without CC's QB being able to play. Heard he got pulled out of game with Creekwood with an injury.
  18. Frankie King is and should be the coach for EH. I also think he has a pretty good coach on his staff in Harris. People need to realize that it is going to take a while to win in Lyles. They play in an incredibly tough district. The kids in Lyles feel they cannot win because of the daily negativity they hear from their parents and what they read on here. Whoever started the petition should not be allowed to ever set foot on EH campus. Good luck Eagles and Coach King.
  19. I have commented earlier on this topic in a previous thread. I wish the people of East would keep their word from the beginning when it was announced that Lyles was getting their own school and could finally separate themselves from Centerville. EH has already ran off one great coach and his staff. Don't do it again. Coach King comes from good football pedigree and is considered very knowledgeable of the TF offensive system. EH is in an extremely difficult district (especially with the resurgence of Lewis County). A coaching change now would only derail any hopes of your Upcoming Juniors & Seniors having any success in the next couple of years. Be smart and let your coaches coach. If you really want to help your program, make sure your middle school kids (encouragement) continue to play at the high school level. There cannot be any separation between the two programs. Good luck EH and Coach King.
  20. Some people in Hickman County will never get it! I can remember when it was decided that the HC school board said they are going to build a new school in Lyles. The Lyles community was extremely excited. All I heard was: Centerville does not consider us to be part of the school community. My kids will not play @ HC because they will not get a fair chance. We will not be like HC. We will do it the right way. We have learned what NOT to do from Centerville. It didn't take long (4 years) to see the communities of Lyles and Centerville are one in the same. Hickman County as a whole has been labeled as "coach killers" for years now. To the people of Lyles trying to run the system, you will never be successful until you let the coaches coach. Leave them alone. I personally did not sign the "petition" because it is wrong & unethical. Support your school, players & coaches. Do not bad mouth them. It is only hurting the kids in the long run.
  21. Win or lose against Westview has absolutely no bearing on whether Camden wins the district championship. Westview is not a district game.
