  1. SS, I wasn't going to reply to this since we both are obviously big OR fans but I just can't fight the urge. I did, and will continue to tell the truth about Mullins.I'm not going to beat this dead horse, rather point out that people like me (and you), have had a lot to do with Gaddis' return. Without pressure from the community on forums just like this, coach Gaddis resume might have found the shredder AGAIN. So instead of telling me to "kiss it" for getting on here, writing emails to administrators, donating money, and volunteering to help athletic programs, maybe you should just say what I'm saying to everyone that helped improve the program.........THANK YOU ROLL CATS
  2. He hasn't played in HS yet. He is a great receiver, ran great routes and had great hands in middle school until he broke his leg. He would be a great addition.
  3. Yes it would!!! Steven May would be great as well
  4. I said "what's his name" because he only stayed a year, not to comment on his ability. I don't know enough of him to comment on it, so I won't. I will say, any hire that only stays a year, is not a good hire. He may be a good coach, but if he leaves in a year, who cares? The real question may be WHY did he leave so fast? I stood right there and listened to Slingblade boast about not hiring Aaron Green, so I do know that. He's an idiot.......
  5. OK, Conspiracy theory, no. Just a man who will not hire someone who could do a better job than himself. YES....Mullins hired Blade, just B*&ls*&(&*ed him a bunch to do it. Aaron Green..NO he should get no credit for. He refused to even talk to him, pissed Bruce Pearl off and hired "what's his name" that stayed for a year instead. THEN.. he was told to hire Green. As far as being involved in the athletic program instead of complaining about it, I would wager a small fortune I have spent more Saturday mornings and made more contacts the last 5 years working to raise money (succesfully I might add) than anybody else on this thread. To those of you who have berated me for calling Mullins out......seems a few of you are getting pretty loose lips about Blade that we haven't heard before. Beating him up pretty bad for not being political now that he's gone. You may not agree with me, but I'm not just puking uneducated opinions.
  6. SS, You better be careful.....you'll sound like SOXFAN in the other thread...lol
  7. I do know what I'm talking about and if these dumb%^%$ knew who I was, then there would def. be a price to pay.....It's political, remember. It's not some crazy conspiracy guys, just a small man who is having way too much influence on the athletic program. I promise you, Mullins would not hire a coach like Gaddis, he just can't compete. If you think theres not enough athletes in the halls to compete at an elite level, how did Blade get it done? The talent is there, more than what was on the field this year even. Oak Ridge just needs a coach that can work with some of these kids who would play if Oak Ridge had a motivational coach. That was Blades only weakness. That type of powerful pesonality is what Oak Ridge needs.
  8. Hiring "in self defence" Goins needs to wake up and realize he's going down with him trying to cover for him. Dr. Smallridge is a good man, has no reason not to step in and get this done right. LETS HOPE................................
  9. Easiest question of the day!! Hire the BEST candidate for the job and turn them loose. As it is now, they will hire the best coach that they feel won't get too much influence. Oak Ridge is a very political town, and a football coach that is a great coach and a great politician (Gaddis) is a powerful person because money starts coming though them instead of the AD. JUST DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THESE KIDS, EVEN IF IT SCARES YOU!!
  10. Blade was sold a bill of goods just like the one everyones talks about for his new destination. He was told some very questionable things about what kind of shape the program was in. ( by Mullins ) Green....that's a joke. He told everybody Green wouldn't be his basketball coach. He even pissed Bruce Pearl off by refusing to talk to Green. He was over ruled...... Thank goodness.
  11. Blade doesn't believe in uniform fillers. If you want to work hard, he loves to have you, if not, no thanks.
  12. Now here's someone who knows whats up. When Wildcat football was huge, the coaches and boosters had way too much input to suit some of the curent administration. Goins wasn't around for most of it but Mullins was. He knows what will happen if Gaddis comes back. After a few years, everyone will look to the real leader for leadership, and the money will start flowing through the coach. It comes down to power, and fear of losing it.
  13. Sox, I apologize, I used my phone to post and auto-correct got me. I should have proof read it. You can however, rest assured I understand the difference between Goins position and what the High School Administration LACKS. Oak Ridge is NO different than any other school system when it comes to test scores and funding, some just deal with it better. I have been involved with the school system for some time, so YES I do understand about the system. I'm sorry if that disappoints you. I know first hand how these guys operate. DO YOU? Green and Blade are Mullins greatest accomplishments. If you take the time to speak to either of these guys about how they were hired, you would stop talking about them if your a Mullins fan. I can't speak to David Scott, so I won't.
  14. Wide open every play.....always gave 110%.
  15. SS, I agree. There have always been many different opportunities for kids to participate in many different sports. The Lack of young families moving/living in Oak Ridge is undeniable though. It's kind of funny everyone blames this "everyone gets a hug and a trophy" attitude like it's an Oak Ridge phenomenon. Every other community faces the same thing, some just handle it better. Sports used to matter to the administration, now it doesn't.
  16. NOT SOON ENOUGH!!! And H#@LL TO THE NO TO AYDELOTT!!!
  17. He's scared of anything that makes him "show his cards". If he hires someone that's competent, well spoken, well liked, and capable of making decisions, Mullins will have to step up and make some all by himself, thats what he's scared of. As of right now, he just imposes his authority making small decisions (many are silly as well), or making decisions behind the scenes and leaving Goins to take responsibilty and clean up the mess.
  18. I'm saying Mullins cares more about Mullins than anything, including any sport, coach, student, or employee. SS, we have agreed on almost everything on here, trust me on this one. He's scared to death to hire anyone that could do parts of his job better than him. Very insecure.
  19. RR, sounds like you've been around....did you get to hear him pound his chest about Aaron Green...."Green WILL NOT be my basketball coach" then see his face when Pearl reached out (tried to get Mullins to interview Green but he wouldn't) over slingblades head and get him hired.... funny stuff...couldn't make it up!!!
  20. This Principle has blinders on....test scores and state funds are all that matter. Anything else is a bump in the road. Mullins...he just sits and agrees with whomever is talking with him......and will take the route that's best for HIM. He's over employed and over his head.
