  1. From what I have heard you are correct the 15u Tenn. Team Pride is the team to beat again this year. They have added some new players to their roster, they are Glory 6'3 , Chelsea 5'7, Jasmine 5'10 all from Knoxville, Dymon 6'2, Emily 5'5, Brittanea 5'8 all from Symrna, Vanessa 5'5 Moore Co, Dana 5'8 Franklin Co., Anna 5'11 Walker Valley, Gaby 5'9 Forrest, Chelsea 5'7 Mt. Juliet, Katelyn 5'7 Macon Co., Lauren 6'0 Lewisburg, Ashley 5'8 Grundy, Allison 5'7 Siegel. All these players are good players and can all bring different things to the game. Good luck to these girls and hope to see them bring a gold ball home from Louisiana.
  2. Who do yall think will be in the running next year in AA?
  3. I never really had a problem with the background, I don't think I would've noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. I kind of like shooting in that gym actually because the rims are loose and you usually get a good bounce off of it. Not that I ever shoot good anyway but it does make a lot of people shoot better there...
  4. People are saying different things about what happened in the stands...I was watching but I couldn't hear...I think what happened is someone said something somebody from RBS didn't like, and the RBS person called over our assistant principal, when I looked there was like eight people around her. From there I couldn't see anymore but I heard she got pushed or something and she wants to press charges, we have cameras in our gym so they're going to look at the tapes I guess. Somebody also threw a handful of dollar bills at a ref before they got thrown out...all in all I think about a dozen people got tossed...
  5. Thanks! I worked hard on that one, haha. Yea, there were a lot of walks on both sides, I agree, a lot of them were called and a lot of them weren't, but you're right, it wouldn't have mattered anyway, so let's put that one to rest. Another thing I wanted to mention...I liked the sportsmanship at the end of the boy's game...players from both teams met in the middle and prayed, that says a lot about them considering that during the prayer some of their parents and fans were being thrown out of the game...
  6. It's been awhile since I've been on here...good to be back! I got on here with the intention of just reading things but now I see some things I have to address...as far as the internal problems, there are no more on this team than there are on any other, losing four games in a row is going to strain any team, we haven't been playing our game. Our playbook is changing, and there were some things in practice that have made it tough to play our game lately. But I think we've all realized that when we just have fun and play like we can, we're usually going to come out on top. And this game was our Super Bowl, we realize we're going to have really step it up if we want to go far at tourney time since our district record is, well, not the best. RBS is a great team and it feels good to finally win a big one against a rival, especially on homecoming. And not to get anything started or anything, but I have a feeling that if RBS had won, some of you saying it didn't matter would be saying it was a huge game...It sounds like some of you are doing the same stuff you jumped me about, making excuses, but I'm not going to get into that either because after two losses to that team, I know how it feels to come out on that end...And to everyone talking about the refs: we didn't feel like they were all that great either! They made some really bad calls for both teams, but as far as all the walks you're talking about, I saw them, I was right there. I'm pretty sure you mean the moves to the basket by Compton..well, she made the same move three times so surely if it was a walk they would've caught it on one of them, but check you rulebook and some game film, they weren't travels...and last but not least, WOW! What a great crowd we had! It was a pretty hostile environment for RBS to come into, now they see what we walked into twice, except both of those times, they came out with a win of one or two points and ours was 21, so if a good home crowd is really worth ten points like everyone says...well y'all do the math...
  7. It might go further, I don't know much about it...I just know that him sitting on MC's side has nothing to do with anything...beyond that I wouldn't know....
  8. Alright alright, I hear all y'all...I got respect for RBS and and they do deserve credit...got a good team. Sorry, I'm a sore loser! I hate it! However, I do have all my teeth...don't know where that came from...? But about Prock, people always bring him into things...he does sit on MC's side during the games, and he should. His granddaughter plays for them! I just want everyone to know that because he gets alot of that favortism crap for sitting over there...he's just cheerin on family...
  9. Yea, Portland and MC were tied at halftime...MC won and will play whoever wins between White House and White House Heritage....whoever wins that game plays either Westmoreland or Clay Co.
  10. Anyone know what's up with refs this year? It seems like they've been calling everything!
  11. I hope so! If Macon can't come out with this one, I'm going to be a little worried...
  12. Hey, I agree, excuses are for sore losers, but 15 missed free throws aren't an excuse, they're a quick way to lose a game...I mean c'mon...Coach Beam is no good? RBS outplayed Lafayette? (News to me!) Lick your wounds? sundance: You're ignorant.
  13. First of all for everyone that says its sad that a A school beats a AA school, think about the players themselves...RBS's girls do nothin but play basketball year round...MC has 4 starters that are all-district in another sport so they have more to do than think about basketball year round. And RBS will never beat any MC team by 20 because rivalries like that are never blowouts, no team MC plays is 20 points better than them...check your facts, they havent been beat by more than 7 all year, and definitely not by RBS (3 points in 2 games), and when everybody on their team shoots like they can, everything falls into place and they win. Gregory usually leads all scorers with almost 20 a game and she might have had 10 in this one. Playing in their gym is worth atleast 10 points to RBS so I can't wait to have em in our gym. And as far as the refs go...HORRIBLE! Bad calls were made on both sides and it always stinks when that happens, especially in a game that is going to be close anyway...and as for RBS only losing their lead because they had starters on the bench...MC had one of their posts on the bench almost the whole 3rd quarter before she fouled out early in the 4th. Compton played a great 4th and she is mainly the reason it got so close, but if the whole team had been more consistent in the first half they wouldn't have been in a hole to begin with. The point is, RBS keeps getting lucky by playing us on off nights, but when we play them in our house on January 27th, they better be ready...cause its comin....and it wont be 3 points.....
  14. White House plays Wednesday at 5:00...anybody got any predictions?
  15. You're right coachh17...they had a horrible shooting night and the posts didn't play so hot either...however, it was the first game of the season and it was not their game AT ALL! Come see 'em again sometime...they're not even the same team. And sleep23...I'm glad you're starting to recognize! Haha, j/p.
  16. Lost to RBS by 1 but missed about 15 free throws...lost to Livingston by less than 10 but played terrible...lost to Smith Co. by less than 10...lost to Upperman by 6. Yes they're young, they have a new coach, and they're in a new, very tough district. But I think Macon should win both Christmas tournaments they're in and, if they play as well as they can every night, could go the rest of the regular season with only a few losses...they hadn't seen Livingston before and only saw Upperman in last year's region tourney so those games shouldn't be so rough next time around...if Smith Co.'s 3's are cut off and Monica Hembree is slowed down that can be won too...and RBS just plain got lucky...anybody still think Macon ain't got a chance?
  17. I just can't wait to see them play again...that's all I'm saying...
  18. You all are acting like RBS should've killed Macon and that they just played bad....well, Macon isn't some roll over team like everyone is making it sound like...RBS got lucky that MC played bad...they missed a lot of easy shots and RBS just seemed to have a good shooting night. Macon probably hit 15% of their free throws, they should've won by ten if they'd hit half of those foul shots! Compton supposedly "fouled out" after four fouls, and Painter had four when they said she had two...if you ask me, I'd say the book-keeping was a little shady...not to say it would've made a huge difference, but it's worth mentioning...and despite all that, they still could've won the game if they three at the buzzer would've fell! I'm just saying, Macon isn't as horrible is everyone is making them sound, and RBS isn't as great....but it was a good game...great job to both teams. I look forward to the Christmas tourney...
  19. Macon will make the biggest turnaround this year...after switching districts they might get into double digits in wins this year! (I think they've had 5 wins in the last two seasons.) If Stinson plays well and a few other guys step in and help...they just might be in the 7-aa race.
  20. Is shannon going to be as good as people say? Or is it a lot of talk?
  21. Definitely Monica Hembree...Brandi Brown...and Holly Compton, there's more but I don't know any.
  22. Ok so I guess nobody has a clue about how 7-AA will finish? I haven't seen enough of them to even guess but I would really like to see something! So if anybody has a clue as to how it will finish can you post it? And by the way, even though it's true that I've only seen a couple of these teams, Colby Stinson from Macon has GOT to be one of the best players in there...wait till y'all see this guy play....even if he does have to do it by himself!
