  1. He will likely hire someone with NFL experience and no coaching experience. I think they should start from the top. Find the GM at the nearby Wal Mart to head up County Schools. Hire any female with an EDS to be principal, then go to the starters of the titans and say, "okay who has a degree.". then make your decision from those three to be the next HC. Using that model will directly reflect the typical coaching search. this way all can see the logic of NFL playing experience= Best Coach
  2. Many people design the events and that huge group probably involves some strength guys. We can have a peeing contest if you want and lose the concept of context, but I'm gonna say I'm wrong and lets move on to the important aspects of this topic. Therefore, I will post as I should have posted the first time. Let's not mention specific kids on here if were gonna speak negatively. Someone on here mentioned FERPA. Let's be conservative in our usage of names. Let's keep up the topic about the possibility of high school programs practicing illegally. That's less opinion and more black and white TSSAA "rules"
  3. In their (coaches) defense the TSSAA rules are not clear. I think that is done on purpose. If they are vague they can pick and choose how to enforce it. They really let the schools enforce most of the time. If someone you work for doesn't like you then it will be enforced. If they like you, you are fine. I believe 100% that it happens a lot. It is still wrong. It is still hypocritical to "hold men accountable" yet teach them to dodge rules by "walking thru plays". I do not believe Coach Rector would be guilty of this, though. He definitely knows the rules and I am positive he wouldn't break such rules.
  4. My Masters degree and CSCS certification say "Yes I do". Do you? If you are blocking properly you're not using the muscles in the same way. I didn't say "Unimportant" Just said it isn't one of the most important lifts. I made my post because someone actually used a kids name and spoke negatively about him. That, I think is inappropriate. I wrote what I wrote expecting that that young man or someone in his family might read the comment. I like to bench press myself and I am ashamed to mention that I was much more proud of the day I hit the big 3 on bench press than the 5 in squat. There are many lifts that build players much better than Bench Press. Parallel Squat, Power Clean, Dead Lift, and a few others are much more important toward player development. You can debate me all you want but you are doing so without researching my point. You can call me ignorant if you want, but I'm the one using proof to make my point. I think you ask a good question about the combine. EVERY S&C clinic I go to, I hear the college and NFL Strength guys ask the same question. THe only thing I can think of is that using the squat, dead lift, power clean, or assorted olympic lifts can be dangerous when used to measure endurance and power together. Rather than insulting you as you did me by calling me ignorant rebel4life94, I'll just let you read the following articles. There are a ton more on the same topic which I'll be glad to help you with. http://www.chicagopo...benchpress.html http://bleacherrepor...the-bench-press http://www.bodybuild...fun/depew10.htm http://forumserver.t...trength-709003/
  5. Strength coaches don't design the combine. Heres some football knowledge for you. http://www.chicagopowerlifting.com/benchpress.html http://bleacherreport.com/articles/621555-nfl-combine-2011-the-latest-on-mark-ingram-julio-jones-and-more/entry/50006-2011-nfl-combine-results-stephen-paea-wins-the-bench-press http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/depew10.htm http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/85/health-fitness/why-american-football-benchpress-important-indicator-strength-709003/
  6. The good news about not being able to bench a lot is...If you are on a football field, laying on your back, and having to push something off of you- your bench press max matters. Otherwise, it is simply there for your ego and your daddy, uncle, and grand pappy to get on message boards and brag about it. Look up a college strength coach and ask him how important Bench press is. Many of them wouldn't put it in the top 10 of important lifts. I could have cared less about Independence or their vacuum producer of a coach. Now you haters on here make me want to pull for them. So bloody negative.
  7. The TSSAA defines a practice (in their constitution and bylaws) as follows: Practice – Any interaction between a coach and student-athlete(s) where instruction, teaching, coaching, etc., is occurring. Happenstance communications between coach and student-athlete(s), in circumstances where attendance by the student-athlete is neither expected nor required, are not considered to be practice. Such communications may not, however, be used to circumvent the requirement in open facilities that a coach act in a supervisory capacity only. This is what it says about spring practice.End of Dead Period until end of school .......................................... Weight training/conditioning/open facilities permitted. No practice (exception: from January 1 until the end of school, 10 days of off-season practice and 2 scrimmages in a 15-day school period permitted). A lot of people may do what you describe. If so, they are in violation. You can not walk thru formations with or without a football or with or without pads. Otherwise everyone could walk thru football plays year round without a football. You are definitely wrong on this one. If you don't believe me, call Jack.
  8. Do what I do- Call some Jack Daniels to it. If what you say is true- Sounds like IHS 10 days of spring training started early to me. That is, if you are telling the truth. If this is just part of some attempt to start a propaganda tyrade, cut it out Mister! :
  9. Well if Sarah Palin is the most intelligent person around here- We're movin in!"
  10. Since the TSSAA has not acted expeditiously with the affairs of the state championship game, we the Clinton administration have decided to pull rank and handle this at our level. It will be a simple punishment and it will be as follows: 1. Because Trezevant represents Memphis we have decided to move Graceland to Greenville. We will transport the King's remains and spell his middle name correctly when we get him there. 2. The Trezevant Head Coach will be fired or will travel to Greeneville where he will apologize to all of Greeneville . 3. Taylor Swift will go on PBS and say,"Bernard Childress hates white people" It won't matter that it isn't true This is the punishment in America for not acting as quickly as we want them to. Vote Hillary in 2012
  11. No, no interview for us, We just have a vested interest in the community. We don't really interview anymore. We just do our best to help those in need and it looked like there were posters here looking for answers. We're not so sure we have them, but we can darned sure try old buddy old pal. You're not the first to say sleeping giant. What kind of giant? A giant like Andre or a giant like David hit with that rock? Giant is relative. There are giant problems like Monica and giant pieces of juicy steak. Colleges and High schools have one important thing in common. If they find their guy they hire him ASAP. If any of these representatives had interviewed Urban Meyer they would have hired him already. The only exception is if the interviewer doesn't give the impression that he really wants the job or they cant afford his product. If someone wants one of these jobs and he has been interviewed, we would be questioning the gentleman's credentials today and questioning the hire because that's politics in America instead of wondering who the candidates are. Wouldn't this be fun if every school had to publicly name who they've interviewed. We know that's impossible but one can pretend. Speaking of pretend.......Vote Hillary 2012!!!
  12. Mr. Taco, With all due respect sir, we believe you opened yourself up to what you have perceived to be racism. You, according to your post, are a hispanic man named Jose. Yet you give yourself a stereotypical user name that in itself is self degrading. Jose, if you want respect from Border Patrol you need to show respect for yourself. On to the post topic: We have come to the conclusion that Centennial is a scary place for a legitimate candidate. On the campus of this high school in a high profile county in Tennessee is a coach with relative success. If he is on campus and not the coach won't there always be comparisons made? With a former NFL player running the after and before school Kineseology system, what happens if he doesn't meet the requirements of the Head Football Coach? Will this newly elected Head Coach have the opportunity to find his own cabinet members or will the President prevent that change because of misconceptions about NFL players being better coaches? As for Ravenwood we are proud to say that Hillary has done an excellent job over there and will make the best decision possible for the school when she hires a head scholar... oops,.. we mean Coach. Summit is quite the mystery. New names making decisions in an old system. Yet, a familiar name seems to carry much weight in this process. Whomever takes office at Summit will need the ability to be punched in the face smile about it and convince young men to repeat the same abuse for about 10 weeks. He must leave his ego at home. P.S. Hillary 2012!
