Houston possessed the ball tremendously more than Science Hill today. I'm not sure why Science Hill did not mark more aggressively in their zone.
I hated to see two penalty kicks awarded. Neither looked obvious from the stands, and on that criteria, Science Hill probably deserved one as well.
Houston keeper came up big late with an incredible save.
I hope this chapionship game is a good one. Most of the games this year in the public division have not been close. These two (CAK & CPA) are clearly the best in A/AA.
I watched the Ravenwood vs. Cookeville game. The first half was back and forth with Ravenwood starting to possess more towards the end. However, Cookeville had several opportunities to score. The half ended with Ravenwood scoring with what must have been .02 seconds left. Ball rolls over just prior to the horn. It was close.
Ravenwood possesses and attacks more in the second half, getting two goals later in the half. Still Cookeville had some opportunities, but could not finish.
Greeneville looked like the better team for most of the match. Their forwards were faster than Madison's back line and they kept playing through balls all night. Greeneville had several good scoring opportunities. Madison had a few as well. Both keepers play well.
This was Greeneville's first win in the state tournament.
Just curious...will the two red carded players for CPA who were ejected in the sectional game be eligible to play in the opening round today against Central?
Science Hill, Morristown West, Oak Ridge, Hardin Valley
East Hamilton, Cookeville, Oakland, Columbia
Station Camp, Hendersonville, Ravenwood, Brentwood
Brighton, Arlington, Houston, White Station
Yeah, its unfortunate about those two spots because the rest of the field looks great. I would say that with all the work they are putting into the fields again this summer that next year all of the fields will be back in very good shape.
