No comparison in that team and the current team at GC. The teams that won it back to back were far more talented at every position and had a little depth. As for the transfer from sg the couple games I've seen gc play since shes transfered She's a non factor, not even playing.

Honest question: How many Jr. HIgh schools does Gibson County get to pull from ? I know Bradford has 1 and Peabody has 1 - seems there should be lots more to "load" from at Gibson County.[/quote I would have to say that Gibson Co high school has well over 100 more students in enrollment than Peabody and probably twice that number over Bradford. I believe that gc is towards the top in enrollment in single A, Peabody middle range and Bradford towards bottom.

I'd like to see those 3 at the top competing could bring up some great rivalries since all 3 schools are so close.

Both players were dressed out with the team last night and played, I think maybe one at least had been hurt. Peabody couldn't hit a shot in Bradford and I thought Bradford did a good job inside playing physical. Hope Bradford does well in tournament in Trenton. Hate to see the lady tides season come to an end, they finish 17-14. Very good year for this team that has come so far since Coach Hart took them over a couple years ago. Most improvement of any team around. Peabody is back on the map in girls basketball and I expect next year to be even better as they return 6 key players from this year and add several good ones from middle school. Should compete again next year for tops of district as the kids have gained experience.

Congrats to the lady tide basketball team! Won their opening game in the district tournament vs Humboldt today by 30+. Now set for a show down with Bradford in the 2nd round which will probably be the best game of the tournament up to that point. 17th win for this group, great job they have done. Hope they will be playing in the semi- finals later in the week. Go Lady Tide!!

Yes, very good win for GC. Took it from a 4 point game late in 3rd quarter to a double digit lead by 4th quarter. I Think Peabody ran a little out of gas from a tough game the night before vs. West Carroll, but still GC played well. Peabody opens district tournament play tomorrow afternoon hosting Humboldt. Peabody is playing well if they can figure out how to win a close one this team can be good. Should be a good game tonight with GC. Very impressed with the young players of Peabody this team is gonna be good for a while! Only start 1 senior. Growing pains right now at the end of games but it will pay off for this group I think.

Heard it was a good game. Heard a questionable technical on a Peabody kid late in the game with Peabody up 4 and then a terrible call with uc girl laying out of bounds as the ball hit her and officials awarded ball to uc cost Peabody the game. Purple did u see it? uc has always been a tough place to play.

Big game in UC tonight. Peabody at Union City. Game means a lot for both teams if I'm correct, guaranteed top 4 spot for Peabody and home game in quarter finals of district tournament. For UC top 3 spot guaranteed and possible top 2 with a win. Should be a good game, wish I could make it but I'll be looking for the score.

Great game by both teams. Looked like a district championship game. Very intense. Back and forth all night. Peabody had a chance to tie or win with no time on clock but kid missed both fths. Peabody is for real and playing well, I expect a win for this group at UC Friday.

Another win for Peabody girls last night 68-34 at lake co. I wouldn't count this group out just yet. 9-4 in district 15-9 overall. Playing some good basketball.

I don't think it's shocking. Greenfield is a good team with a lot of seniors. Goes back to what I've said all along in this district. Top 5 or 6 are very balanced and capable of beating anyone. Peabody with another win last night and picks up win #14 and now 8-4 in district.Tough games coming up. Several injuries on the team as well as 3 girls were not dressed out last night on the bench.

Totally agree! Turned the program around in 2 years. Picked up another win last night 76-44 @ Humboldt. Peabody is gonna be good for the next several years. With the exception of the senior shooting guard the best players are all juniors and below. Sophomore class is really good as well as freshmen. Probably got the best freshmen in the district. Middle school is tough as well. Should be good basketball in Trenton for next several years with Coach Hart leading them. Big game in Gibson county tonight with GC and Greenfield playing. Should be interesting.

Very tough. Bradfords tough. Peabody is 6-4 in district 12-9 overall. and moves on to Humboldt tomorrow night and halls on Friday so hopefully no slip ups after a tough loss vs Bradford.I heard we played well but gave it away the last few minutes and Bradford got some big help down the stretch. Still have won 5 out of the last 6 so Peabody seems to be playing better down the stretch getting ready for tournament time. Have lost several 1 + 2 point games. We will all see for sure next week with uc and greenfield.

Good win last night by Peabody 45-31 over South Fulton. They improve to 13-8 and 6-3 in district. Tough game at Bradford tonight.

Peabody beat lake co last night by 30. Shouldn't be any problem for uc. Peabody is now 12-8 on the year and 5-3 in district sitting in a top 4 spot I believe. Hope they keep it going, more improvement again this year!

Top 4 teams in district win last night. Gc, uc, greenfield and Peabody. Top 4 spots still wide open as only 3 games desperate 1-4. I'm not counting out Bradford yet either and sf seems to be playing very well also by the look of scores. Gonna be an exciting last few weeks before tournaments start in Feb.

Good wins by Greenfield and Peabody last night to keep both squads in the top 4 in district. Great article in the jackson sun newspaper also about the Lady Tide team and the great job Coach Hart has done there in 2 years to turn the program around.

Very true! West tn basketball is very weak. Only chance is Middleton if they stay healthy and they can be beat.

USJ. 3 of the 4 teams in the semi-finals of westviews tourn are from 14a. Greenfield beat south Fulton, Bradford over usj and Peabody beat Gleason. Pretty good showing for 14a teams.

Idk if I'd say that now, greenfield, Bradford, Gibson co and even lake co and uc with the fair girl have as much and more experience than Peabody. Peabody plays alot of young players, sophomores and freshmen. Really only 1 senior contributed from games I've seen. They're all doing a Great job so far though.

Great game tonight with UC + Peabody. UC come out on top by 4, but it was back and forth all night and tied later in the 4th. I think u can throw Peabody in the contender category also for a top 4 spot. If they ever figure out how to get over the hump they will be dangerous. Coach Hart has done an amazing job with this group in 2 years. This team was horrible when he took over and now they are right there with the top of the district.

1. Gibson Co. 2. Greenfield 3. Union city 4. Peabody 5. Bradford 6. Lake Co. 7. South fulton 8. Halls 9. Humboldt GC should win easy. Should go undefeated, if they don't then they've underachieved. Only question will be what if lannum gets in foul trouble. Greenfield has an outside chance if something happens in gc land. 3-7 spots are up for grabs. Anybodys ball game. Halls and Humboldt will fight for 8/9 by themselves.

I wouldn't count out Bradford, Peabody or UC just yet for a top 2 spot. All are off to Great starts and they have the coaches that can lead the teams there.
