  10. Centennial High will be hosting the annual Cougar Challenge Summer Tournament on June 4th. The past 2 years we have had about 100 wrestlers and have had very competitive pools (and out before 2 pm). We make these pools with the help of all coaches to get the best match ups we can for the day. In the past we have had 4 or 5 man pools with all state placers and qualifiers and others with all new wrestlers so everyone gets the mat time they need. Below is the info if interested just email me and I will pencil you in and email you as we get closer. 11. Bartlett's 145 is very good. Majored the 5th and 6th ranked kids in this poll according to track. He will make noise next weekend for sure.
  12. Id like to t I would like to think we would come in 3rd but not sure going to be tough not sure how many finalist we will have. Think Franklin could be up high with a few finalist. Also 126 and 132 could be match of the tournament Also Brady Ingram as wrestler of the year is a shoe in.
  13. I think we will end up probably seeding 6 or so in many classes as some are pretty deep. For instance you have 6 at 182 and left off Franklin's 182 pounder that is pretty good so we could have 7 seeded as they are all deserving. I think 120, 132 and 195 could also have 6 or so guys seeded.
  14. I'd say that more than a few missing from that list and others in the wrong weight class. McGavok has a tough 113 than is capable of being in the finals. I like Klingensmith also from 126 he is a good wrestler and looked tough this weekend Also missing Schedler from Indy Antioch has a legitimate guy at 160 that can easily be in the finals I think Franklin and Ravenwood have some guys capable of making noise. Maybe a few more Centennial guys in there but i like the underdog role. One thing for sure there are always a few upsets at regionals and I would expect that again this year.
  15. Probably because 126 is a lot tougher in the top 3 or 4 in region 6 than 120 is. Also i dont know if 126 or 132 is any easier in state with the possible guys that are moving around
  16. Halls is a really good team not sure what the "2 big wins for halls" means but its not like those picks are upsets if they win them both. They have a bunch of good kids on their team and a few returning medalist if I m not mistaken.
  17. Obviously having a good established middle school feeder makes things so much easier but if you dont have that you just got to work hard at trying to get everyone up to speed. I would say in the last 8 years or so heritage is around the middle of the pack and sometimes even lower yet Indy has been near or at the top of the region the last 8 years or so. We (cent) do not have a proven feeder but do get a couple kids from Page that can wrestle. Last year we made it to dual states and this year went 26-5 and fell one match short of returning. We lose 3 starters this year and have most of the team coming back. We know it is hard year after year to compete so this year we started a youth club (extreme takedown) to try and help out with incoming freshman.
  18. I agree that switching coaches like ravenwood did (3 coaches in 3 years) is never easy. I also think that the district as a whole is pretty competitive now and all the teams are capable of beating the others. Probably the biggest problem facing many of these teams now is the middle school feeders. When I first moved here about 7 or 8 years ago many of the middle school teams had 40 plus wrestlers and they were all pretty good and competitive with each other. Now many of those schools cant even field a full team at the middle school level which obviously hurts the high school. Too many club sports and other options now and just not enough interest at middle school. I hope it changes.
  19. I'd say you can put the 145 from Bartlett up there right behind Fuller. We wrestled him (Dalton Cockman) this year and he is probably the toughest one we have seen this year. not that rankings matter that much as i would say 2 out of the top 6 in every class wont place but that kid is pretty good
  20. they just opened up the head to head section for seeding so i imagine they wont be out until sometime late tonight or tomorrow
  21. should be an entertaining week or two for region 6. Whoever comes out will definitely have earned it. Ranked or not there are alot of good teams in here
  22. Not sure whose expectations Centennial is not meeting because we really dont care about spectators opinions. We are 10-3 in duals with a loss to WC and 2 close losses to Blackman and MBA all very good teams. We didnt care last year when "the experts" said we didnt have a chance to come out of the region and go to the state duals either so we will just continue to work hard and wrestle. Good luck to everyone this weekend there are a ton of great tournaments going on in the state. one of the best weekends of wrestling all year.
  23. Here is a list of teams coming to this Saturdays JV tournament. If you still want in and get your jv guys some good matches email me with a estimated line up by the end of the day tomorrow. Brentwood Beech Centennial Independence Franklin Clarksville Ensworth Father Ryan Rossview West Creek Creekwood Fairview Greenbrier Riverdale Springfield Ravenwood ?
