I believe from what I have seen VB can handle Silverdale and Temple with ease. VB just shoots the ball so well its tough to get a rhythm going against them. They will more than likely struggle with Grace's height and strength in Round two, but if VB shoots well and gets good play out of their key players, it's anybodys game IMO This is assuming that Grace does beat Signal, but I can't go downing my hometeam like that because in all honesty they have some very athletic players that haven't been playing aswell as they should Hope to see you guys here at Signal

Van Buren won by 30+ yesterday to South Pitt, and I believe Lookout Valley beat Signal by 10 yesterday VB and LV are in the Championship on Tuesday SM and SP are in the Consolation game

Personally I don't think any team from 6a has a chance other than Van Buren, and after watching them demolish South Pittsburgh yesterday I was confident that they could make some noise in the state. Sadly this year didn't turn out so hot for my Signal Mtn Eagles having to face either Grace or CSAS in the first round but, we'll see how everything turns out. My prediction is that Van Buren will take the 2nd spot in region knocking off Grace and, going into substate. CSAS would be extremely hard for any team to beat. Whats your take on the matchup of 3a and 4a? Predictions? My predictions for region: 1: CSAS (Playing Jackson in Sub-State) 2: Van Buren (Playing FCS in Sub-State) 3: Grace Baptist 4: Temple (They're the better team IMO)

Haha this would make complete sense even though in the district that i've followed its never been a problem. I'm guessing that this was a problem this year. What district are you referring to? The games should be counted as a loss unless there are legitimate reasons why the teams can't play them.

Losing to Marion is nearly inexcusable but every team has off days, and anything can happen. I by no means am saying that VB is the better either team because in reality they are not. And you don't think Van Buren has gotten better? Everyone (Including myself) was predicting them to have a mediocre season but instead they demolish the district excluding the fluke in the loss to Marion. I also agree with you about the district being weaker this year then most but it still has been full of upsets and excitment, it has been quite fun to watch. So how do you predict the region's final standings? Who will go into sub-state?

I agree with you that CSAS will be extremely hard to beat. I don't think I can agree with you about coming within 20. Last year for instance Van Buren played CSAS and had it tied up going into the 4th if I remember correctly. Van Buren didn't lose anyone either. I by no means am a Van Buren fan either, infact if I had to guess I would say that CSAS does come out winning if the two matched up. I'm just saying that I wouldn't give up on this team just yet, they've proved everyone else wrong this year.

Yeah I believe we all sold Van Buren a little short in this district. They have 4 exceptionally good players, 3 that went unnoticed last season by my judgment. And a strong bench that goes atleast 8 deep. I saw the Whitwell game and wow. #30 went crazy. He had close to 30.. Didn't miss. Another one I saw was VB at Sale Creek. The other guard #44 had atleast 5 three pointers before halftime. That kid had one of the greatest shooting forms i've seen at the high school level. He could easily get POY, and if he shoots like that continuing into regions and sub state they could make some noise in the state tournament. As for player of the year i'd go with either #30 or #44 from VB, #30 or #3 from Lookout Valley, just depends on how the district tournament is played. Did anyone get to see Van Buren vs Marion? Wow. Of all teams that would knock VB off their undefeated record I NEVER would have expected it to be Marion. What happened to VB in this game?

Did anyone get to catch this game? I saw that Van Buren came away with a win by 13 or so. Just wanted to know how both teams matched up/played last night

I have heard alot of players on this years DeKalb team talk alot of trash on and off the court. I have heard instances of teams almost getting in fights with them numerous times. I don't know if this has anything to do with the coach however.

South Pitt vs. Van Buren has been postponed

Well tonight South Pitt is going up against Van Buren @Van Buren. Tonights game will be big with Van Buren being the only remaining undefeated team in the district and, people believing that South Pitt will jump over VB for 2nd in district. Any predictions on this game? The Signal loss was big in my opinion. What happened? Also what happened to Whitwell? Alot of people were predicting them to be strong in the district and now they have a very disappointing record except this win over SM.
