  1. Answered my own question mostly. Still don't know about the Allen Co. vs Clinton game, but it looks like the schedule for tomorrow is: Knoxville Catholic vs. Van Buren Co. @ 7:30 for the championship Capitol Christian vs. Heritage @ 4:30 for 3rd Place Grainger vs. (Winner of Clinton vs. Allen Co. game today) @ 1:30 for consolation championship Campbell Co. vs. (Loser of Clinton vs. Allen Co. game today) @ 10:30 AM
  2. Any updates on these games South? I know the Catholic vs Heritage game hasn't started yet, but I'm curious to see how the rest went.
  3. I was suprised to see VB come out so strong, but in the end they just couldn't keep up with Loretto, especially on the boards. Loretto has some very solid players and if they shoot better from beyond the arc than they did today they can make some noise against Union City. However, I'm anxious to see VB in the next few years on both the girls and boys fronts. With the miss basketball finalist returning with almost her entire supporting cast, and the boys only losing one player I wouldn't doubt if both teams make it to Murphy next year. Good luck to Loretto, Union City will be very tough to knock off!
  4. Congratulations to Jackson County! Very good game up on the mountain tonight.
  5. Van Buren wins 55-53 over Silverdale Academy. Good game everyone!
  6. Her name is Lakelyn Bouldin, i'll never forget it after seeing the "Lakelyn-sanity" sign that some VBC fans had Here is an article I found on her http://www.chattanoogan.com/2012/2/27/220420/Van-Buren-Phenom-Torches-Sale-Creek.aspx
  7. She had a double double, for a girl that has only played three high school games in her career i'd be fine with it. I wouldn't exactly call 15 points being shut down either. The fact that they kept up with Whitwell until halftime astonished me, at the half it was what? 26-24? Something like that. Either way, good luck to Whitwell as they host Clay Co. And to VB for proving alot of people wrong and getting to travel to Jackson Co.
  8. Yeah she is quite the player, she pretty much scores at will anytime they need her to. I think she might be the youngest girl i've ever seen to use a successfully use a hop-step while in traffic Was talking to a Van Buren County fan at the tournament last night, they informed me that this came to no surprise to any of them. They said that she has led her middle school team to the AA division of the state tournament championship every year since 6th grade Don't know how legitimate those fact are however, considering that it was a die-hard VBC fan..
  9. Check this out.. http://www.chattanoogan.com/2012/2/27/220420/Van-Buren-Phenom-Torches-Sale-Creek.aspx
  10. Lol, if your coach's example of team "Leadership" is cursing his players, using a crap point system, and throwing his players under the bus because he couldn't control his temper I believe you should be checking your morals. You attempted in your first post in everyway possible to change out viewpoints of Coach Montgomery with "Facts," then when called out on your bogus facts you act as if you never cared.. Sounds to me like someone is too close personally to the coach to back-up and look and the broad, and detailed truth about what is going on with WC
  11. Here is the way I see it from a statistic point-of-view. The best team that they have played all year is a 65 win percentage team in Westwood, who in my book, looks to be down quite alot from last year. Considering the fact that they only beat Westwood by 2, 7, and 3 doesn't look to be too promising. In the past teams (Like BTW) who had a very easy schedule throughout the regular season had a haunting post-season (Need I say names?) after they got through districts because they aren't used to the competition and such close games. However, just because they haven't played teams that have tested their skill does not mean that they are not a Murphy Center worthy team, and no one can be the judge of that. Only time will tell what is in store for BTW. Best wishes throughout the post-season, hope to see you guys play in the boro!
  12. OH! I got it! Van Buren County being the cynical people that they are had a master plan all along to get Warren Co. to buy a whole bunch of food from some restaurant for the sole purpose that they knew it would be wasted! Then get them to waste money on a charity fundraiser for breast cancer awareness! Then they knew all along that, in the end, they would cancel it.. Man, apparently we need to start giving these mountain folk a little more credit. Apparently they are just masterminds at messing other people's plans up! Yeah, definitely sounds legit..
  13. Congrats to Castle. He is quite the athlete and could really do some damage if he was on a team that had a little more help for him.
  14. Really hope I get to make an FCS game this year before they make it to Murphy (If everything goes as it has been), from what i've heard its quite a fun team to watch!
  15. I don't know if the fans can keep enough composure to finish the game. However, if they do i'm going with VB by 10. Still wish I could have made the last appearance, sounded like a great game until the spoiler ending. Regardless of who wins I just hope that the game can actually be played without interuptions. What happened last time was a disgrace, no matter who you lay the blame on. Looking forward to a great game with an atmosphere that I know will be unmatched.
  16. They are playing against Whitwell, this kid is a great athlete but playing against Whitwell doesn't showcase much skill. As you can see, little to no defense was played on their part. None-the-less, great dunks by a great athlete. Now, if he could work on his shooting I could see him going somewhere.
  17. He never denied the fact that Perry County had a weak schedule... Why jump all over him? Regardless, BTW hasn't seen much resistance thus far. Not saying they won't be a state contender, just can't wait to see them play teams with a win percentage of 80% or higher . Regardless of all the hype surrounding them i'm calling an upset against BTW early in the post-season. Before the trolling starts, remember.. It's just my opinion; now state yours and get on with life.
  18. I really thought this game would have been closer than the final score was . However, I wouldn't count H2O out yet, i'm picking either them or the Commanders to take this region!
  19. I HIGHLY doubt any of the players had anything to do with these alleged "Slurs"... They seemed to get along great, and as said before were joking and laughing with opposing teams during breaks. VB came out with no fines, they were originally fined $500 but it was lifted from what I heard today.
  20. Made the trip up to Van Buren to see this game, before I start with a rant I would like to say that it was overall an amazing game, couldn't have asked for more. Now, for me I was sitting on the opposite side of the benches, but honestly I don't see how ANYONE could hear something, especially coming from the stands. I literally couldn't hear the people sitting right beside me, the atmosphere was that intense. Now from what I saw here is what happened, Van Buren is down 11 or so in 3rd Van Buren comes back to take the lead in 4th, tension from Warren County rises. Game heads into overtime. Van Buren takes an early lead hitting a couple of really nice baskets, after some words were exchanged on the Warren Bench, technical is called on bench. Shortly after on an inbound's play #55 (VB) was being played tightly by a WC player, even though the ball wasn't in play, some words were exchanged and the VB player ended up getting shoved. He didn't get shoved as hard as he let on, but none-the-less it was still a foul, technical handed out for that play. Almost simultaneously the WC coach walks on to the court discussing something with the official in rage, technical is called on WC. (In other words 2 technical) WC's coach waves to all of his players to leave so, the all start Now, as the WC coach is storming the court, #55(VB) gets in "His way" so he gives him a shove, instantly everyone starts after the coach, police restrain everyone, even the WC coach. It looked like he wanted to fight as much as the VB players had. However, I will give the coach the benefit of the doubt and say that VB's crowd may have said something racial, but if the crowd were the ones who were accused how did he hear it from all way at pretty much mid-court where he was standing? Impossible if you ask me. If racial slurs were said it is a huge low-blow and should never be used in any type of situation. However, you cannot fine a team merely because of the crowd, because as was said, it is VB's crowd that was accused. Something could be given because of VB's reaction. Multiple VB players had to be restrained and it seemed as though there were some colorful words flying. The deal about him worrying about his daughter is clearly false. He left her on the bench while he stormed the locker room....
  21. Sending my wishes to the Bulldogs on this game. You guys have way more talent and deserve to win. Plus with Clay being such a hard place to play you guys will win by atleast 15. The only thing LV has going for them is their coach. He's one of the best coaches in Single A in my opinion. Good Luck Clay Co! I'll be watching you guys in the boro!
  22. Congrats to CSAS on the win last night. Their defense was excellent last night really no answer for it. Maybe a ball screen would have setup the open shot, couldn't figure out why Van Buren never tried one. The game was within Van Buren's reach almost the entire game until the end when they had to start pressuring the ball to try for a turnover, which is really where CSAS shines, their much faster than most teams i've seen . The Signal game was just..... Ugh. Don't get me started . But nonetheless congrats to Lookout Valley on the win, good luck staying within 40 of CSAS though I never realized this before but Van Buren will bring everyone back next season and might make a deep run if they play their cards right. Anybody else's thoughts?
  23. Well, CSAS is highly favorited being one of the top teams in Single A. But anything can happen. Its going to be a entertaining game to watch for sure, two athletic teams going head to head Anyone else going to be at this one?
  24. CSAS is extremely well coached, when you mix this with tremendous athletes this is what you get. I personally do not believe that CSAS recruits because there is no valid evidence of it. I also am really looking forward to these matchups on Tuesday. I don't think that Lookout Valley can take us 3 times in a row Van Buren vs CSAS should be an interesting game also especially since they both play extremely fast basketball. Might even be hard to keep your eye on the ball!
