DCTiger, what makes you say that Central Magnet is moving up one day soon? Looking at their record for the last 3-4 years and I can't see any indication that their program is moving in the right direction, SMH

Cannon County will be fine this year wbryguy, they are solid at every position and have a good bench. The year that they went to sub-state 2010-2011 I think they were very similar to this year's team. I saw Cannon Co a couple of times this summer and they are very good, imo.

Lamb the really good shooter? I saw DeKalb Co at Gallatin- they play hard as usuall and it looked like the pg (transfer maybe) had some range to shoot.

Joker- probably a good choice on #1 and #8.

Dctiger- Central does have a new coach. Worsley I believe is his name. He spent the last 3 years at West Creek in Clarksville Tennessee. Before that he was at Sycamore High when they made their run to sub-state in 2011. Don't know if he will make much of a difference right away. Just looking at the schools record- only won 7 games in 3 varsity years- a lot of work to be done. 8AA is always tough so I would not think much will change from last year. Saw several 8AA teams this summer at camp and they looked good- Upperman has a couple of transfers from Cookeville and DeKalb got a couple of transfers as well- they will suprise a lot of people cause Coach Martin can get em fired up. Saw Macon County too, all guards with a couple of young post- they are gonna up tempo things and shoot the 3 ball. Coach Welch does an awesome job there.

I heard that there were several good coaches that applied and interviewed. This is not my neck of the woods so I am unfamiliar with the WC hire. They kept it local and that is their right to do so as they are in charge of the county. I do know one of the coaches that applied and he is solid (lives a couple counties away), he would have been a great hire but I am sure that he will bounce back and find a good job.

Wasn't Bobby Luna at Warren County years ago? I think he was there before Doug Keil wasn't he? I would think being the only h.s. in the county would be a benefit to them. Maybe with the right coach and some motivation it could be a really good job.

This could be such an interesting thread cause it has so many possibilities. Coaching and talent vary from place to place but and talent cycles too. I do think some of the best coaching is in Middle Tennessee.

Daniel Boone job is closed at least according to one source. Heard that the Morristown East job is closing in the next couple of days but have not heard who is getting it.

Yeah, but aren't they giving that to the assistant coach at Humbolt? Or is it true that they already have the next coach picked? Anyway, and Humbolt to the list.

Don't count on them being very long at all. I have seen them 4 or 5 times this year. Short, guard oriented players. Fast pace, press, and lots of pressure.
