  1. Have you ever considered that Greeneville is just that much better than the teams they often have to play? Their conference is horrible. The JV could score 70 on some of those teams. It’s not like we are playing starters in the second half of those games. What do you want them to do, take a knee every down? Greeneville doesn’t run a complicated offense, they basically just run it every play. The other teams just can't bring them down consistently even with a sophomore RB and QB in the game for Greeneville. Last year, we often played Freshmen in the second half. Carter made a lot of really bad mistakes tonight that contributed to the huge margin of victory.
  2. What is your problem? Did you get cut by Greeneville at some point? Greeneville played the second and third string the entire second half tonight. You are making yourself look really stupid with all your comments about Greeneville.
  3. Not when you score 63 by halftime. We had a sophomore QB and RB the entire second half. Carter did this to themselves with failed onside kicks, turnovers, and horrible punts. You obviously didn’t watch the game.
  4. NOT EVEN CLOSE! Yes, Carter reminded me a Trezevant for a few minutes, but Greeneville played the subs the entire second half. They could have scored a lot more if they really wanted to. The fight happened way before the score got that bad. By the way, it was clearly started by Carter.
  5. You seem pretty high on him. What does he look like in practice? It is hard to tell in games, because he is usually in there with the second team in blowouts. I’ve said all year that he looks like he could become a stud for Greeneville if he works and does what the coaches want of him.
  6. Congratulations to Jamel Hall and Terrell Rollins for becoming Mr. Football Lineman Finalists. Also, congratulations to Dalton Boles as well. http://www.tssaa.org/MrMissAwards/Football/2011/finalists.htm
  7. Yes, the timing would have to be perfect and you have to actually call for a fair catch and make the catch. But, you could use your timeouts while on defense to possibly force a punt near the end of a half. The chances of using it aren’t very good, but apparently it has been done twice this year in NE Tennessee.
  8. There is some discussion on the DB thread about “free kicks†(fair catch kicks). I honestly don’t know too much about them, but it seems like it would be a great weapon for Greeneville (with Ogle) if there wasn’t much time left in a half or the game. I've never seen this done until I saw video on that thread.
  9. I understand what you are saying about having options to replace him. However, I tend to disagree with your comments. If Walker Troy wasn’t our best option (in terms of team success) at safety, then I don’t think he would be back there. Remember how bad we were getting beat in the secondary early this year (scrimmages, Science Hill, Mo West), but that has been improved greatly since they put Walker back there. I’m sure the coaching staff and players will get this figured out, but you don’t easily replace 4.58 speed at the high school level. Even if you move one of the offensive guys to safety that has equal or better speed, you will still be missing something on the offensive side of the ball due to increased fatigue from playing both ways. Greeneville will be fine, but I don’t agree that he will be “easy to be replacedâ€.
  10. Any thoughts about who will play safety? I’m assuming it will be Wilson, because I think the previous safety from this year is injured as well. Just wondering what our best options are at that position, since they may want to rotate some players in there to keep them fresh for offense as well.
  11. Coach Carter was an actual drill sergeant, right? I think I remember hearing that at some point. Of course, it could have been just a rumor.
  12. It’s kind of funny that one poster has already mentioned how much class was shown towards Scott County last night. We even made a point to give one of your coaches a welcome back to Greeneville before the game. The bottom line is, Greeneville hits hard and plays with a greater intensity than most teams. For some reason, people don’t seem to like that when they are losing.
  13. You obviously haven’t read my posts. My comment was actually directed at everyone, including Greeneville fans. There is no reason to get overconfident at this point.
  14. That is exactly the reason you don't want to run your mouth too much about how good you are. That goes for anyone. Sports will find a way to humble you.
  15. That’s a shame. JC has enough talent and resources to become a state power in football. Too bad football has been an afterthought for them all these years.
  16. I heard that something was broken but didn't want to say for sure. Thanks for the update. Tell him that the Greeneville fans are thinking about him.
  17. Well, the radio guys mentioned that it may have been broken.
  18. Radio guys said it may have been his ankle. They said that they put him in an air cast.
  19. Yes, I was very happy to hear about that. Good luck the rest of the way. Congrats.
  20. It sounds like it may have come at pretty big cost. Hope Walker Troy’s injury isn’t as bad as it sounds. He has been huge for us after they moved him to safety.
  21. I actually didn’t get it at first either, but I assume they are talking about the rubber pellets on the turf? I could be wrong though.
  22. Oh, I have faith in them for sure. I think they are the best team, but I’ve just never been a fan of being too vocal about how good you are. Sports have a way of humbling you when you least expect it. I'm sure most coaches would agree with me.
  23. I agree. Greeneville is good and should be the favorite in 4A, but they can certainly be defeated (as all teams can). There is no reason to get overconfident at this point because there are way too many games left to play.
