  1. Never been a fan of running out of the gun inside the 5 yard line. Big stop for Fayetteville! *edit* Looked really close to being in before that knee went down. Couldn’t really tell from replay.
  2. Ready to watch this one. Good luck to both teams. Bring that gold ball back East.
  3. Predicting this game accurately is like trying to ace rocket science. There’s honestly no telling what will happen. When 2 teams that are this evenly matched, anything and everything could happen. Interceptions, fumbles, penalties, miracle plays, missed tackles... you name it. It’s just which team will make more mistakes and which team will make the most plays. You’ve got playmakers on both teams that can take it to the house on any given play so I’m gonna say the team that tackles better and is more physical will win this one. I see a similar game to last year. Looking forward to watching this one.
  4. No. I’d be surprised if they hold SP to under 30. Reasoning is that SP doesn’t do anything crazy, they are just very good at what they do and, as the past shows, they’re gonna stick with that. Dominate the LOS and try to rush for 300+ yards. Also, City hasn’t come close to seeing the D-line they’ll see tomorrow. SP just has too many playmakers for City to stop.
  5. I haven’t been making picks but i see the Meigs/Peabody game being close to last year... lower scoring, defensive battle. Similar to the TC/Meigs and Peabody/McKenzie game. I’m gonna predict the first team to 20 wins the game.
  6. If he wasn't, @Southtowner was and a bunch of other SP and GB posters.
  7. If you like any kind of chocolate donuts or icing, they have some of the best I've had.
  8. +1... If you come to Cookeville and don't visit Ralph's, you're doing it all wrong. I've heard people talk good about Algood Diner but have never been there. If you're in the mood for pancakes, Grandma's Pancake House is good. Also, Seven Senses or Crawdaddy's West Side Grill are the go-to restaurants for most of people here.
  9. I doubt that. You had the defensive front to stop them more than we did that game. We didn't even look like we were playing for a championship. Came out flat and stayed that way most of the game. Also, found some more film on Fayetteville... I just don't see them hanging around.
  10. I thought it was Ronto that was laying on the ground who almost caught it?
  11. I think we all know Coalfield wasn't the best running team in the state, even before that game. That's just all they could do (vs bad defenses) lol
  12. This is just my opinion but I don't see this being a 1 score ball game in the 4th.
  13. As a whole, I believe you had more playmakers. But like you said, our big playmakers outperformed that game. If SP was able to pass the ball to keep us from playing the run every play, it could've been different. The times you did pass the ball, the receivers were wide open. It hurt that you didn't have Sanders that game as well. Thinking back to that last play hail mary..... every heart dropped on our side thinking he caught that ball. There were so many turns in that game. Y'all were up most of the game until the 3rd-4th quarter and it went back and forth from then on. Crazy atmosphere!
  14. Agree. In the 2 appearances I made at state, we were confident and definitely not afraid. In both instances, we were blew out both games. There was just a talent gap. I believe it is the same this time. Fayetteville I'm sure will be confident coming into the game but there's still a talent gap between these two teams. Also, Grider has been in this position before which will help SP prepare for everything they're going to face leading up to the game and keeping the players ready and focused. There's a big difference in being there the first time and knowing what to expect the next time you are there.
  15. Any way 75 can forego his senior season and head to college in respect for future opponents? lol
  16. I've seen them play a few times and early in the season they hadn't reached their full potential mainly because of conditioning. Against Meigs Co they were wore down. I blame that on the big layoff they had coming into that game and it being early in the season. As the season has progressed, you can tell how much better they have gotten just from game reps. My question tho is this.... how do you think these lineman stack up compared to the likes of Silvey? Not sure what grade 75 is in but he is pretty close IMO. I saw he has offers from UT and Ole Miss. Short offer list so far but that's as solid as it comes in 1A.
  17. All I know is you all still haven’t answered my question from last year. Are y’all going to bring that cannon to Cookeville and stick Roy in there and shoot him off when you score?
  18. Ehhh they both had their touches. I mean 23 had 8 catches 183 yards and 3 TD’s. Duke had 7 catches 100 yards and 1 TD. That’s a 1-2 punch for sure. Also to another point.... Fayetteville doesn’t have that for sure.
  19. What made that team as good as it was, was we had the athletes to run or pass at will. I didn’t have to worry about who to throw the ball to because I could trust everyone in the passing game as well as the run game. It’s just tough to defend a team who can run and pass equally as good. That’s what would make SP almost unstoppable if they could truly pass the ball whenever they needed to. That would be scary.
