  1. Will Briarcrest be participating in the Big school or Small school level dual tournament in Division 2?
  2. Recently as in about three weeks ago
  3. Moseley recently beat both Lewis and Ward
  4. BGA's whole campus was wet the next morning. I'm guessing there was a problem with the sprinkler system
  5. The 5-0 BGA Wildcats take on 4-1 Ensworth. BGA comes off an emotional win over their old coach, and Ensworth is playing after a shocking blowout loss to Baylor. Can the Wilcats continue to ride this emotional rollercoaster, or are they derailed by Ensworth?
  6. These two have been putting up absolutely absurd numbers. Jordan has 5 or 6 touchdowns already this year and has only played one 4th quarter in their 3 games. They have been an absolute pleasure to watch. Beathard certainly is living up to the hype, I'm pretty sure he hasn't thrown a pick yet and he was exceedingly impressive in the pocket avoiding the rush. I think this the best QB-WR combo in the state and I'm not quite sure it's even close.
  7. BGA has a very tough schedule, but who's to say that they will get rocked? They should be 4-0 heading into MBA and Ensworth, and I think they are good enough to beat MBA, Baylor, and BA this year. This may just be me, but BGA has appeared to be one of the more impressive teams in the state this year. When you have high D1 players at QB, WR, and TE/LB, you are going to have a great chance to beat any team on any given night.
  8. The K-12 enrollment at BGA is 975 students. The high school, however, only has between 400 and 435 students. Smyrna's enrollment is about 2100 students.
  9. A real wildcard would be C.J.'s uncle Kurt Beathard who is the ex-quarterback's coach for Illinois.
  10. They offered him, Euverard talked to the seniors after school today and basically said he was going without saying "I am leaving." Really hurts the BGA team to see him leave, a lot of talent there this year. He's expected to announce it tomorrow.
  11. C.J. Beathard gave a verbal commitment to Ole Miss today.
  12. Haha you're asking for it with this one my man.
  13. Hooker transfered to Ryan. They have a few graduating, but I'm not sure who else they are losing.
  14. 25 runs in their two scrimmages, got a few friends on the team who say they are really knocking the cover off the ball. Got a pretty solid win over Goodpasture in one of those scrimmages too. Granted, it's early in the year, but BGA has been struggling to put up runs consistently in the past two years and getting confidence up early is a big step to a successful season.
  15. I think non-factor is too strong of a word, but it is definitely a major rebuilding year for BGA. From the little i've heard from people around the team, they are really hitting very well this year, but pitching is going to be a major issue. They shouldn't be dreadful this year, but you're right in saying it isn't their normal quality of team.
  16. Like I said, I'm not trying to knock him for anything he did in the past, I simply was curious whether the rumors I had heard were true. I've heard nothing but good things about him, and he is truly one heck of a wrestler. Five state championships is quite the accomplishment, and what I was asking had nothing to do with him as a person or as a wrestler, because, as you said, these things are in the past. I was only wondering if the things people had told me were true, nothing more, nothing less, and I apologize if I struck a nerve somewhere in there.
  17. I'm not trying to knock the kid, had a great time watching him in state. I was just curious if some of the rumors I had heard were true. Hopefully he can wrestle as well in college for my Terrapins!
  18. Hey thanks for the response Lynx! Is it true that he had started out his middle school years at Baylor, then switched to Mccallie because the Baylor coaches were not going to allow him to wrestle in states his 8th grade year?
  19. ok i heard about duncan doing a celebration after winning state his 8th grade year, any truth to the story?
  20. I guess the thing that shocks me the most is that Greer and Freeman didn't make weight when they challenged on the other scales. Alex Manley initially weighed in at 132.2, but hit 132.0 after challenging on a light scale.
  21. you never see it at all! i just saw the very end of this match, i was sitting over in the d2 section and i could see what was happening but couldn't see the time. someone had told me that the match was about four seconds over before the noodle kid came tapped the ref? im not sure, couldn't see the time but its a shame the kid couldn't have finished the match off, losing a spot on the podium over not fighting all the way through is a back breaker.
  22. Hey now...not my wrestler at all haha...don't go to Ravenwood or have any ties to the school, just saying I thought the call was a little bitt iffy, but of course kudos for the heritage kid for not giving up on the match, bad call or not he capitalized and really showed that the match is never over!
  23. Grant Jones the 152 from Ravenwood probably should have medaled, questionable officiating cost him a spot on the stand
  24. 103- Holloway vs Smith...Holloway D2 Dec 3-0 112- Robinson vs Kaferle...Robinson D2 Maj Dec 7-0 119- Brunner vs Bates...Bates D1 Dec 7-3 125- Watson vs Feuerbacher...Watson D2 Maj Dec 11-3 130- Manley vs Lewis...Manley D2 Dec 14-3 135- Baker vs Lopez...Baker D2 Dec 17-3 140- Doster vs Lopez...Doster D2 Dec 20-3 145- Hooker Brown...Hooker D2 Dec 23-3 152- Agnew vs Colbaugh...Colbaugh D1 Dec 23-6 160- Duncan vs Newberg...Duncan D2 Dec 26-6 171- Martino vs Schay...Martino D2 Maj Dec 30-6 189- Holmes vs Davis...This is a close one for me, but id say a dec for Davis 30-9 215- Mason vs Bolton...Bolton D1 Fall 30-15 285- Gauger vs Benson...Benson D1 Fall 30-21 Overall id say 9-5 or 10-4 for D2 in this one
  25. Yes he did place 3rd at 112 last year. It's a shame Jacob didn't make weight, he's a very good wrestler and it would have been fun to have seen him wrestle again on Saturday. That war he had with Boone was probably the best match of the entire tournament, certainly the most evenly matched.
