  1. Prayers for the family. Such a young man to lose his life but a hero at the same time.
  2. Were you one of the parents? What are Coach A's issues?
  3. Sorry again to our Dobyns-Bennett folks about my misspelling. I understand the pride thing. I don't understand how a Dobyns-Bennett fan has such a stance on a Riverdale coach needing to leave or that be a ministration is fat and lazy much less 10 parents boycotting a coach to leave. What are his transgressions besides Riverdale taking second fiddle to Blackman and Oakland of late? I remember he had gotten sucker punched and attacked by a student last year. He has been there for years but has he been a bad teacher, mentor, disciplinarian, etc? What are the reasons for firing? Not winning a championship?
  4. Dobyns Bennett. Sorry, we have a Dobbins Pike in Gallatin.
  5. Gallatin has several wrestlers co-opting with Hendersonville. I see that becoming a program at Gallatin in the future. I would still like to hear from the previous poster mentioning our tailback was coming to Goodpasture.
  6. How much do you know about Riverdale or are you talking about Dobbins Bennett?
  7. GWAVE1 could probably tell you Gallatin's seating capacity but since the stadium is 2.5 miles from campus, it is quite a punishment to be sent to run the stadium steps.
  8. FYI... Station Camp is a middle school design. It was cheaper to build at the time. Notice how low the handles to the doors are next time you go to your English class.
  9. I believe first to be addressed is the visitors seating then press box.
  10. It's official though I'll get to watch it firsthand! Nice illustration.
  11. I hadn't forgot. There is a growing amount of people willing to have voices heard. Hopefully, it translate to action.
  12. The guy has been there a long time and has had good success with state tournament appearances. I've only heard of the Taylor kid leaving. Now I don't know the coach or that particular young man very well but, I guess all you have to do these days to be a good coach is have a niche in the AAU circuit and just work to make the parents happy. Sad times with kids entitlement.
  13. I don't mind mentioning Don Long. He is a crook and our superintendent hired him knowing he was voted out by the public and his history of financial issues with the city of Hendersonville. His overwhelming support of one school where his kids went and underwhelming support of their rival school is more than glaring. http://www.everythinghendersonville.com/articles/article412.aspx Station Camp has to fund half of their new field house after some uproar when Phillips was going to push through the entire cost through the board originally. Meanwhile, Gallatin visitor side stadium should be condemned. Makes absolutely no sense. Phillips and Long need to go and/or all schools need equal representation heard not just some issues pushed behind the scenes and their agenda at the forefront.
  14. Are you saying you along with your upcoming 9th grader "know that the tailback from Gallatin would have been at Goodpasture" by the name Jordan Mason? Are you not talking about the current player from Gallatin, Jermaine Mason, that followed Joslin from JPII where they both were recruited and one went only due to family knowing Joslin when he coached at Gallatin?
  15. You do realize that even though Don Long was not voted to the board, they created a position for him as project manager for operations overseeing school construction projects. Not sure why with his history of embezzlement in his past role of mayoral assistant and economic and community development director in Hendersonville. I assume this is why the stadium is not being addressed along with soccer concessions and bathrooms. There has been a porta potty with building materials at the soccer field in front of the school since last spring. No construction has begun.
  16. Won't happen. They will just condemn it and roll in aluminum bleachers or make the team play down the street. Imagine Maryville having to play home games at Alcoa. The board just put several million into renovations at Beech within the school and that school is nearly 20 years newer.
  17. Well said. I doubt the school board or county commission will act on a 2011 assessment. I believe a new assessment would have to be done. Even more money spent. I believe it may be neglected even longer unless a few Gallatin supporters on the board and commission really push this. Even then, I believe they will come up with a cheap solution.
  18. The stadium will never move to the current campus. That idea has died. The visitors side concrete is deteriorating quickly and the press box has needs. These are the primary structural problems needing immediate attention.
  19. I understand. The school board and county commission have said no. They need to readdress the issue with a few key individuals on the board and commission pushing this. Others including QB Club and local businesses should play a vital role. I was never insisting monies for cosmetic issues. Any money must address structural issues first. No issues were addressed 5 years ago when recommendations were made. I'm sure the structure is in worst shape now.
