Since when is All-State based on how players play in the state tournament? There's no doubt that both Jones and Kirby deserve to be on the team. They were both instrumental in leading Liberty to 30 wins, including 2 wins over North Side, 2 wins over McNairy, 2 wins over Westview, 2 wins over Bolivar, wins over Briarcrest, Gibson Co., and Obion Co. in a regional elimination game. Both ladies had bad games against Macon Co. in the state semis, but hats off to Macon for making that happen. I'm not sure how Macon got left off the team, but Jones and Kirby are deserving. BTW...Kirby just recently signed to play at Murray St., while Jones is headed to Memphis.

8 of the 9 players who played significant minutes are seniors... only Matt Smith, number 50, is not. he's a junior. Daniel Hill is a sophomore point guard who played quite a bit during the regular season. the team will be very inexperienced next season.

show some class man. both teams played their hearts out and left it all on the court. great atmosphere, great teams, and a great game. let's show our kids how to win with class.

enrollment at tech dropped to around 850, hence the drop to AA. the 06 and 07 teams could've competed against the AAA teams I believe...they were loaded!

win or lose, this has been an incredible season for tech basketball. girls go 30-5 and make the state semi-finals and the boys have 32 wins and are playing for a state title. great year to be a crusader!

hats off to Fulton. they shot the lights out early but couldn't handle the liberty pressure in the second half. they are probably the second best team in this field.

the shooting has even out and the better team is winning the game.

it appeared to me that #10 for macon was every bit as athletic as the liberty guards, and the zone included some pressure. they did go man a few possessions without good results. also, it's hard to play a full-court pressure game with only 6-7 players. the liberty bench is extremely short. I thought Weeks did what he could and liberty did make a huge run to get within 8. if Kirby hits 3 of those 10 threes that she missed, it's a totally different game. 30-5 isn't bad though.

I've followed both liberty teams this year. What could Coach Weeks have done in the girls game vs Macon to take the lid off the basket? They shot 26% and Kirby was 1/11 from 3-pt range.
