  1. I didn't go so I'm not sure, hopefully the arm isn't acting up again. If he is done, so is Farragut quite honestly.
  2. Final- Maryville 7, Oak Ridge 0. Will play Farragut Wednesday for region 2-AAA championship and home field advantage in sub-state.
  3. 1-AAA: 5th Inning- Science Hill 5, Mo West 5. 2nd Inning- Jeff Co. 5, Dobyns-Bennett 1. 2-AAA: Final- Farragut 11, Hardin Valley 1. 5th Inning- Maryville 7, Oak Ridge 0.
  4. Those are my thoughts exactly. Pfeifer can get you to state on the simple fact he can pitch those two games. And he can win you the first game of state which puts you in a good spot, but they definitely need someone to step up and win a game or two.
  5. BIGGER win for Maryville tonight as they take two from Farragut and win the district 4-AAA tournament crown. Congrats guys, hopefully we can have two 4-AAA make it to state again.
  6. Yes, 2-1 final Bearden is eliminated. Coach Culbreth has this young team playing great right now.
  7. I'm not sure either strong, Maryville looked tough last night and they always play us well. I agree though, especially after he hit #1, I wouldn't have pitched to him again. Luckily for us, both of them are finally healthy again. And to answer your last question, Nicky hasn't had many pitches to hit this year which is a big part of why his stats are down a lot. Good luck today
  8. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Farragut has 11 underclassman playing significant roles on this year's team. Sure, losing Delmonico and Pfeifer will definitely be a huge blow and they may not ever have a run like they have the past 4-8 years, but they'll still be in contention for district/region every year because Buckner is still a great coach. A lot of people choose to forget he took a Bearden program from the shadows of Farragut, and turned them into a state tournament team in a few years. That brings me to my next point, I just don't see Bearden being successful while Jack Tate is the coach. He may be a nice guy or whatever, but he is just not a good high school baseball coach. A few days ago against Maryville, I watched him bunt his #3 batter with 2 on and no outs in a one run game. They're also losing their 2-4 hitters, and Ty Hill who are their best hitters by far this year and the only ones batting respectively over .300. I agree with you on Powell though, they should be dangerous the next few years with all their young talent. Although I'm not that familiar with Powell, I have heard some rumors that one of your best players will not be eligible next year because he will be 19. Any truth to that?
  9. Final: Farragut 5, Maryville 1.
  10. Farragut 5, Maryville 0. Delmonico 2 hrs. Pfeifer 1 hitter thru 5.
  11. Man you really should just stop posting, you obviously have no knowledge of them game. Pfeifer is a much better PITCHER than Norris at this point in their careers. Norris has a much higher CEILING and god gifted ability than Pfeifer. Don't see how you could disagree with that.
  12. News flash, Riverside would have a sub .500 record in AAA. Two games against teams who pitch JV pitchers is not a reason to celebrate. A is a joke, plain and simple. So please stop worshiping Gant, yeah he's a good player who could potentially be good in college as well, but to compare him to Norris or Pfeifer at this point in his career is silly. Quit living in a dream world.
  13. You probably wouldn't want that. Norris vs single A hitter's would be a joke.
  14. By the way. Pfeifer got win 45 tonight.
  15. Quit agreeing with everything and saying how great Farragut is, then say the "dynasty is ending" that makes no sense. Last time I check Farragut was ranked #1 in the state without their #1 pitcher. He's back, and they need to win one more game to make it back to regions. Thanks.
  16. I'm not sticking up for anyone just stating the facts. And personally, no, I think Pfeifer is a much better pitcher than D-No is at this point. He knows how to best use his pitches to get people out. D-No is more of a thrower right now, but he has improved a ton in that regard since last year. If someone were to ask me who I would go with out of the three if I want to win one game it'd be Pfeifer hands down. I've seen all three and while Gant and D-No are undoubtedly good, neither of them have won on the stage that Pfeifer has. I'd rank em: 1. Pfeif 2. D-No 3. Gant Agree to disagree but all three are in the low 90's with consistency and all three strike a lot of people out. The only thing that sets Pfeif apart for me is his control of his off-speed pitches and the fact he's won on the big stage time and time again.
  17. This post is so laughable it almost doesn't deserve a response. When has a 5-AAA team made it to the state tournament? Ever? District 4-AAA has had 3 different teams make it to the state tournament in the recent future. Bearden, Farragut, and South Doyle (before they left). And I'm sure scouts are really down on Pfeif because of his unorthodox motion. That motion has won him more games than any other pitcher in state history, 3 state championships, 3 wins in state championship games, 3 appearances on Team USA, and a gold medal at the 16-u Olympics. I would honestly hate to be him, he's just a mediocre guy. I hope Farragut doesn't run into those thoroughbreds from Soddy down the road, that would surely be the end of the line. Heck, Farragut would be better off forfeiting to save themselves the embarrassment of playing such a great team. Thanks for giving me a good laugh this morning.
  18. And he is a very very good player. But he's D-1 talent, not first round talent. He'd be better off transferring to a Houston or a Bartlett senior year, if for no other reason just to face better talent to get him ready for college ball.
  19. Yeah, he's a pretty weak lefty who's signed to play at Vandy. 0.90 ERA this year. Good luck hitting that "weak" fastball. I would be willing to bet a lot of money you wouldn't score a run off him. Then again, that would once again require you to make it out of regions which won't happen. Farragut needs no introduction to big games, they play them every year during the regular season to prepare them for the playoffs. Sorry they don't play Walker Valley every third game, they actually enjoy a challenge every once in a while.
  20. I hate to tell ya, but even without Pfeifer for 3/4 of the year Farragut still have a much better record and have allowed far fewer runs than SD. Not that we'll ever get the chance to play each other because you guys aren't going to make it out of regions. Although it would be funny to see Pfeifer (back from injury) make your two "studs" look silly. Oh well, maybe next year right?
  21. Surprised no one commented on the game. Great high school baseball, fun to watch. D-No was impressive early on, but tired after 3 innings. Farragut's pitcher matched him pitch for pitch, but go burnt on the long ball. Hilarious celebration by kid who hit it at home plate, VERY bush-league. Both teams played hard, fans were GREAT, and I'm sure the scouts left impressed by both Norris/Delmonico.
  22. You lost all credibility when you put the ERA's in a BA format. 2.85, 3.10? I don't believe I've even heard Lebanon being mentioned in any state tournament talk.
  23. Daniel Norris plays in AAA. Stephen Gant plays in A. There should be absolutely no comparing the two when it comes to strikeouts, W/L, etc. Bottom line is D-No is 1st round pick and Gant is a college player. There you go.
  24. This website may help you out some, they studied each bat carefully and it completely unbiased: http://compositebats.com/best-bbcor-baseball-bat/ Those guys say that the Marruci Cat 5 is the best value, since they put it right there with the VooDoo even though it's $100 less.
  25. It's Soddy Daisy... wouldn't be too worried.
