  1. only thing I would say to SP as they roll in this one watch out for Basin when they start getting behind they get dirty...football is football I love the way Basin will hit you in the mouth but when they realize they can't win, they start getting dirty. Going after knees, eyes, and privates. Almost started a fight at TP and our chain gang said that even coaches were telling players to hurt players. I hope that is not true but it sure did look like.... Basin will hit you and get after you. but SP rolls big in this one!
  2. Yep you are right....got 5 weeks left but only 4 games need to get to 5-5 or 6-4 but got some tough ones... when does oakdale play coalfield
  3. MY BAD RUDY...shoot no would have loved to see the boys in Red beat the Tigers got nothing but respect for Oakdale...Would love to see us schedule a reg season game......TP is just one of those head scratchers... should be as good or better than last years team...Were ahead of SQHS before getting blown away, Gave Grace fits for a qtr and a half. Bad calls hurt us in the Midway and Basin game but if we finish those calls don't matter...... I wish the best for Oakdale and hope TP can get it going the playoffs still not out of the question but basically need to win 4 out of the next 5 which will be tough....
  4. Sure go ahead and bash that's fine. We have not earned any respect at all I get that. But this TP team is not as bad as their record states but that doesn't matter much does it. I just look at topics and try to give insight without being disrespectful but guess not everyone does that. I like this Oakdale team a lot #20 is a player and they were fun to scrimmage the last 2 summers and hope we continue to do that. I also hope they go as far as they can. Rockwood is a good team, I was not sure if they had a down night against Meigs or if Meigs was that good. Meigs gave McMinn all they wanted so it maybe a little of both....
  5. I guess I wasn't too far off based on a scrimmage in August
  6. I know looks rough but would be nice......
  7. what games you think they lose??? I am sure you think Greenback but what else?
  8. Alright gang got a question...Can the Plains Gang make it to the dance? They have had a disappointing year so far with close losses to a good Basin and Midway team. The Bears would have to be at least 5 and 5 to get a sniff at the playoffs...Thoughts anyone???? We have these games left... Sale Creek-9/26-away Rockwood-10/8-away Harriman-10/17-home Greenback-10/24-home Miegs-10/31-away
  9. Tellico Scrimmaged Oakdale this summer for our first scrimmage of the year. Tellico (1-4 with 2 close losses) won easily. Oakdale has some good players but I have a hard time seeing them beating Rockwood. If they do then the Rock is way down this year which I just don't believe it is. Sure they got beat by Meigs but Meigs(although they have struggled the last few year) is not a bad football team at all. Their win over Rockwood maybe that first good win for the new coach that says they are headed in the right direction, but still on any other night I bet Rockwood beats the Tigers from Decatur(still like where Meigs is headed).... Now don't get me wrong I got tons of respect for #20 on the red team he is a player but I will go with TheAmbassador and say the Rock by 2 or 3 scores.
  10. I know Central had a tough time getting non-district games a few years ago so I am sure they play whoever was willing....smaller schools on this end of the state have a hard time filling schedules....not that central is as small as Basin or Tellico but you have to play and sometimes the weeks you have open only have a few to choose from and yes it is tough to play down and get better but these guys are going against each other during the week and improving. I also would much rather play down and win to help your playoff matrix then play Alcoa, Fulton, or Maryville and get trashed.....Central has some good coaches and some good players and should do well the rest of the year....silently rooting for the Chargers!
  11. I will say this not sure if this will be a difficult game or not but Tennessee Christian is starting to get some good talent and will be tough to beat in the future. Another situation of public schools having to compete against privates. I also think they will get more talent once they get their facilities the way the want....TCP is not terrible this is not Sale Creek coming to town. Nothing against SC but they jumped right into the varsity pool and it has been tough for them. TCP has taken the JV route and were not too good last year but showed up to the passing leagues this summer with some good looking players. I think Basin wins and may win big but they better have their head on straight(which I think they will.. good team).
  12. Having seen both team play I believe Basin wins this one. Basin is a good team and should not have any trouble with the Wildcats! Where is this one being played? NC officiating is not very good!
  13. Sure was proud of your Chargers I was not sure if they could pull it off but so glad they did! Good Job Chargers!!!!!!!!
  14. I do believe this will be a good game. Always a tough place to play and always a good hard fought game. I would like to see something good happen for the Bears. Didn't get any breaks against Basin but it was a good hard fought game. Basin is tough and Midway looks just as tough. The Bears need a win Friday night to have any hope for a playoff spot.
  15. I do believe GCA is beatable but learned a very valuable lesson..scoreboard watching doesnt tell the whole story....These guys are the real deal and if they can get a little better passing attack they will be hard to handle.....this weekend should tell us a lot about GCA. McMinn Central is big and tough if GCA handles Central then everyone might be in trouble but I believe Central will give them a good game.....
  16. Here is my take being a Tellico man. I think this game could be a close one which I would like to see... I would love to re-set this rivalry...When I was in school 86-90 we didnt play in the reg season but scrimmaged a lot and it was always a good heated game. We made a lot of mistakes against a better GCA team (these guys are big). Our line is smaller but if you run the wing-t right you dont need huge linemen....Defensively I think is where we have to step up big. Basin runs the ball well and TP needs to play their best....Last year this game wasnt close at all but I look for a different game this year...TP needs to wake up and start playing a full football game or this season is not gonna be fun......
  17. well I guess I did have some rose colored glasses on. As always we played well for a while but GCA is pretty good. Early it was 21-0 but we came back and made it 14-21 but then the mistakes started and GCA took advantage off every chance they were given... Can not make mistake against this team....
  18. I got you ONB and I know you not being ugly...And yes I know GCA is GCA I am just trying to get a perspective from folks that have seen Tellico play because I have rose colored glasses...I am a Bear and will always be a Bear weather we 10-0 or 0-10....I think this team has more heart than last year and has more potential (but potential doesnt mean much) and was just wondering what folks thought that have seen Tellico play think. I also know that Greenback is the smallest in size but always a player in the district football wise. But I do think our district is the toughest.....Once again I AM A BEAR FAN and may have drank too much Kool aid but I see this one a lot closer than others. Go Bears! And thanks to all who post I love our district and our fans!
  19. I will say this!!! With Grace, Rockwood, and Greenback in our district it makes things so tough....Plus Midway, Miegs, Harriman...this is no cupcake of a district at all most schools our size couldnt survive in this district.....with the lower teams (historically) getting better this is a tough place to play....I know they will realign but almost hate to see it...If you win our district or qualify for the playoffs you have done something big.....
  20. well I get your point but I dont think either game truly shows anyone who Tellico is. The Andrews game was tough because one of our boys transferred to Andrews in July and shared our entire play book with them. I talked to him after the game. they knew our line checks and calls, they blitzed into the holes on our checks and he had them very well prepared... SQHS we had a good first half but had a lot of injuries in the 2nd half.....
  21. I have just heard that if you gonna have a shot at Grace it is this year cause their offense is down. I know they have always been solid. The Bears are improving but will have to play pretty special to win this one. But I dont see Grace scoring big....But we will see..always enjoy playing Grace in football and baseball fans are a class act but basketball is another story never seems to fail that a Grace fan gets kicked out our gym when they are here..Our boys got cussed out last year going into the locker room when we were there playing basketball but baseball and football always A #1 folks....
  22. Just interested if any of you have seen Tellico play?
  23. I don't see grace scoring big numbers because they are more of a true wing t this year. I also think that Tellico has a shot it will take a great effort. Nothing but respect for Coach McKamey and the Rams but they are beatable this year just not sure who will do it......
