  2. AE all the way on this one. I have seen both teams play. I think AE is on it's way to Cookeville
  3. http://www.coacht.com/tennessee/article.cfm?id=573933
  4. any other news on those moving from 2A to 3A? trying to figure how 2A regions will work out....
  5. my understanding is each school gets a period of time (I think 2 weeks) to make any appeals or requests before the vote. so release date if 2 week review period would be first week of November wed or thurs.....can anyone shed light on if there is a review appeal period and if so how long??
  6. I have seen both these teams play in person. Both are good, AE is much more athletic but I think if you hit them hard that makes a difference. GCA is a well coached team and usually would get the edge because of that. But what I noticed about AE this year is they are much more disciplined than last year and seems they have a little fire in them. If GCA can't run the ball right at them they will have a very difficult time. Getting out on the edge will not help GCA. Friday against the Bears they had success in the passing game with rub routes and the young Bear secondary couldn't figure it out. This could be one heck of a game. AE needs to prove they are the 2A team this year and this could be a huge step to prove that. GCA wants to go out their last year in DI as district champs this has the making of a special game. If GCA comes out and pounds the ball, keeps it away from AE they have a shot. Is AE gets on the edge or open in space GCA is in for a long night....Wish I could be there but the Bears are playing RW at home and we always play them well there plus the Pork Palace is calling my name!!!
  7. I hope we play in bowl game at Grace if we don't get into playoffs....Any game experience we can get will help us in the next few years!
  8. yes if we beat RW then there would be a 3way tie....Maybe someone on CoachT can shed light on how tie breaker works....my thoughts would be that OS would get nob with more wins then then us or RW.
  9. There is a small murmur on the Plains that we may try to renew the Kees-Bears match-up depending on where we land region wise. We may have to pick up 5 non-districts and pretty sure you all are not playing SQHS in the next cycle so maybe just maybe.... I hope so love playing GB!
  10. This will be a very tough game for Tellico. GCA is a great team better than the record shows. The Rams are always coached well. Our boys are young but they will hit you in the mouth. Regardless of the score GCA better keep their helmets strapped up tight! In one sense I hate that GCA is moving to DII I enjoying playing them, the fans are nice and they treat us great but the other side of me is glad they will not be in our district. I know Mullinax will have his crew ready to play and anything can happen on a Friday night.....
  11. Sorry gang I have been out of state...But Mullinax for sure is a great coach! Can we beat Rockwood???? I will say the same thing I said last week about GCA. We need to play lights out and RW needs to help us...Not be focused, turn the ball over, or something but I know this for sure our boys will lay it all on the line for Coach expect a fight for sure....What i love about our boys is they give it there all.....ONCE AGAIN HUGE SHOUT OUT to all the GCA folks for last Friday night, prayed with us after the game and showed their support for a good man with a huge fight ahead of him....Coach Webb and the Tigers are always tough no doubt. Got some great players and we struggle up there but we will see.....
  12. my suggestion is this.....get them to put a scoop of the BBQ on the Taters can't beat it!
  13. They are usually there all day on game day preparing and open when the gates open at 5:30....easily ready to serve by 6 if not at 5:30........
  14. Thanks Tiger! Good luck tonigh!t WB is not very good as a complete team but there are a few of those boys that will fight hard...#50 is tough! Good luck stay healthy and we will see you next week. RW is one of my favorite places to watch a game. Think the whole town is cool... I am a Coach Webb fan as well....Hopefully we Beat Grace and then make next weeks game very interesting...I will take off my Maroon colored glasses but it could happen......
  15. it will be interesting for sure.. Thanks to Grace by the way...they didn't even bat an eye they were very willing to allow our boys to support the coach...that is what the team is saying...class act! I think we will play hard and I am not gonna lie this is a tough task but I think GCA will get a good effort out of us. Who knows...BTW spread the word meeting at the 50 yard line after the game to pray for Coach Mullinax want to invite fans from both sides to join us....
  16. 17 is a gamer.....man for whatever reason that knight it looked like we were on skates....I know it had to effect the game plan...Hats of the Sweetwater they had good game plan and the rain didn't bother them as much as it did us.....I believe that loss cost us the playoffs....I think we could get in if we win out but that is a huge mountain to climb! Not impossible but boy o boy sure would have to have everything go our way.......
  17. we had a crew last year that hurt us. We punted the back had both knees on the ground when he received the ball which means he is down. But the back got up and ran it back, in the video the ref is looking at the player no doubt at all but makes no call...now our boys should have hit him when he got up and started running because no whistle was blown but they didn't and he scored we lost by 3.......fast forward to huge district game this year same crew, same guy, we have our opponent 4th and 25.....QB scrambles and we almost have him when our defender is tackled by offensive lineman right in front of the same official and it sure does look like he is looking right at the play...No call made QB makes a heck of a play a few seconds later to get first down...And even after we brought it to the head refs attention the team we were playing ran an illegal formation...we bring it to their attention several times and we get flagged for coaches arguing about it and that team was allowed to run plays out of the set all night.....
  18. thanks Raven I will pass that along to him! and my glasses are so maroon I have a hard time seeing out of them...lol!!!!!!
  19. Thanks! I will pass that on to him when I see him.... Good luck! Like told OB we will have to play lights out and you all will have to not be focused, turn it over, and/or something like that. Now do I think GCA will do that??? NO they are a well coached disciplined football team. But we are playing as good as I have seen in while with the exception of the Sweetwater game. That game we had the intensity we needed but we couldn't seem to do anything right and the rain didn't help.....But hopefully we will come out firing on all cylinders...... enjoy the game and visit the pork palace cause that money supports our boys!
  20. yep we were 2A in 89....I played middle linebacker had a pretty good night as well...it was a tough game...I can't remember the score trying to figure that out......I love our coach he is a class act.....I hope we got something for GCA Friday night but it will be hard....I really like where what I call the new high school is at Tellico and the Pork Palace is awesome. I like the truck on the fence at GB it is cool.. Seemed like every time we played there it was raining or cold or both...lol
  21. well my friend if you played in the '89 game then we played against each other....I liked the district the way it was because it seemed traditional for the most part. When I was in school we played GB, Midway, Rockwood and Harriman maybe not every year for some but on a regular basis.... I wish Grace wasn't in our district then or now but don't fault them or blame them. They are playing where they are told to. Do I think they needed to be in our district last year or this year? NO but that is not their fault it TSSAA....Doesn't make them the bad guys.....But man it seemed like every time we played GB or Midway or one of those normal district or region foes it was an event....It was what you think about when you think of high school football...2 teams playing where each team was gonna have to bring their A game and the team that didn't would get the L but it was still a hard fought game......We got no business playing AE nothing against them but this is never gonna be an event game....Neither is Wartburg no disrespect at all really enjoyed the AE fans and Wartburg was awesome all the way around but these guys aren't close not many people are gonna make that journey regardless......
  22. been keeping my head down.. I wear maroon colored glasses and last year got on here and basically made a fool or myself because I was such a homer........I have been looking every week at the topics but have not really said much. But since no Tellico person had replied figured I would break the silence....I will pass on that you all are praying. I talk to coach every time I see him out and it honestly makes him smile when he hears folks are praying! so spread the word he has a big battle ahead of him..... I miss our old district. I liked playing GB, Harriman, and Midway....
  23. as a Bear fan I know this is a big task for us GCA is always good, well disciplined, and well coached. I am not a GCA hater at all, good program with great players and coaches. The Bears will have to be on their A game and GCA would have to help us out by not being focused, turning the ball over, or something like that. But I will say this, the difference in this years team is they will compete until the whistle blows and they will hit you. This is something that has been lacking for a while now. Even couple years ago when we went to the playoffs we had a handful of boys that would compete, now we have most of our boys competing. That is what it takes we must compete....We must hit folks....Not a lot of talking about TPHS football going on this year but I am very proud of our boys and we have a Head Coach that loves this game, these kids, and I believe our town. We have been in every game but 2 and but for a play or 2 we are sitting here 6-2 instead of 4-4. We still need to figure out how to beat teams in our county...We did well early against SQHS but got down and gave up but that was the first game of the year and since we have not quit even when we played against Sweetwater where we honestly just didn't have the game plan we needed, this was the week Coach Mullinax was there but didn't coach and it rained so hard but honestly the boys fought hard til the end. So i am excited to watch the game Friday and no matter what the outcome GCA better be ready for a good fight from a rowdy Bears team...Good luck to everyone.....Go Bears.... P.S. No matter who your team is please pray for Coach Mullinax he has some medical issues....I am pretty sure he will be at the game because he was last week but he has been very sick....
