  1. MJpride you have one outstanding looking team this year. Its a great time to be a bear fan is the word on the street. I showed up right after special teams and the Bears D was going against the Oakland O and did give up a point for 13minutes straight on D... if it were a real game they would have had more then 3 turnovers. Then your Bears O went against Brentwood and scored in 3 plays i think. I personally think that Mt. Juliet's offense is one of the top in the state at this point and time. EVERY back can run the ball and your WR can replace Cornelia which is the biggest question. Oakland just doesn't look like the "old" Oakland. Still a great team and will make noise again this year but not like they used too. They seem to be having problems with the O right now cause they had problems moving the ball against Mt. Juliet and Brentwood. Their D looks to be very solid though. Brentwood looked very nice on Offense but had problems against the MJ Dfense for a while. Don't know if it was MJ's talent or Brentwood having struggles. Brentwood's QB looks great, seems to be the key to their offense as well. Brentwood's D wasnt as impressive though, let up a lot of points against both teams. All 3 teams played outstanding and all look like they are primed for the season. Cant wait to watch these teams go to work on Friday nights.
  2. Some of the top teams in the MID-state going at it on the 5th. Who do you think will come out with all wins?
  3. Didn't Hendersonville beat you guys in the playoffs last year with the WingT... If its not a good formation then why do HEAD COACHES put it in their offense such as Mt. Juliet, Riverdale, Beech, Hendersonville, and Portland. Portland isnt much now but they did when state with it. So please just stop, its a good formation. Even colleges are starting to use it more and more. Heck even the patriots ran a couple of plays out of it last year!!! You also have to factor in how many people use the wingT thats why you dont see it go to state as much as other offenses.
  4. Just because you have D1 prospects on your team doesn't mean your team is going to be great. Smyrna lost to truly great coaching in Maryville last year when it was clear they had way more prospects. Mt.Juliet also has Josh Shelton, Caleb Chowbay, really talented junior class, and outstanding Oline. Hville also has an crazy good junior class, Hunter Brown and Andrew Edwards. Talent doesn't mean win.. Coaching and talent does and to me Hville and Mj are the ones who have that combination this year. My son plays in Rutherford county and told me at a 7on7 they had last week Mt.Juliet beat them and Oakland. Both programs they beat are very talented. I will give Gallatin their props though by scrimmaging such good teams before season. The teams Gallatin will scrimmage are better then any of the teams they play this season.
  5. Does anybody know who won at Riverdale thursday? the last i heard MJ beat Oakland and Oakland beat Riverdale.
  6. 1.)Mt.Juliet 2.)Gallatin 3.)Beech 4.)Hendersonville 5.)Lebanon 6.)Station Camp 7.)Wilson Central 8.)Portland MJ has a shot at 10-0 this year if their D-fence is good their O has big O-line and fast, strong backs. (saw them at smyrna). MJ is very underrated this year. Gallatin has some of the biggest line in the state... if the passing game is good they could take the district but i doubt it will be. D-fence looks solid not great but definitely not bad. Beech lost a bunch of guys but the coaching staff will always have them ready to play. They lose to many offensive skill players to really be a #1 in the district. Hendersonville could finish at 1 and could finish at 5. These guys are the true wild card in the district. MJ could take state in 6A and Gallatin, Beech, and Hendersonville could take state in 5A overall this is a very strong district with great coaching staffs.
