  1. Batman, I am usually on here just to read and be entertained and I always enjoy your posts. However, this one cannot go unanswered. Lafe Cook has been an inspiration to hundreds of kids that have passed through the D-B band over the years. Has he ruffled some feathers along the way? Probably, but no more than you and I have in our careers. I would have been proud to have had my son play for Graham Clark for 4 years because I know the type of many that Graham is. But I am proud to have had my son under Lafe's direction for 4 years. He has learned more about dedication, teamwork and the benefits of hard work than he could have under most other environments.
  2. Just remember to have your band director hit the weight room this week.
  3. I am always more than amazed when I read posts from some fans who seriously need to get a life. Bring it on but here are my thoughts,,,, Great game and great atmosphere. Congratulations to Maryville. Neither team played their absolute best and D-Bs chances went south with turnovers, too many penalties and a defense that played great but gave up too many big plays. You wouldn't believe it by listing to some of the fans here, but most of the fans are respectful to each other. All of the Maryville fans that I talked to were really nice and enjoyed having the Indians in their house. Yes, I heard a few stupid comments, but probably no more than came from some wearing maroon. To anyone who things our band showed disrespect to Maryville with our pre game ritual, then just get over it. It's a high school football game and one, at that, with a tremendous crowd and atmosphere. Traditions are a part of every school's makeup. There was nothing our band did that showed disrespect to Maryville. finally, any of you at the game know that our two schools need to find a way to make a series of regular season games a reality. Roll Tribe!
  4. "One thing I noticed from the SH game. Clark didn't let Malik and swafford touch the ball enough. And it wasn't because we were stopping y'all everytime. They both had great games. The qb keeper with lead blockers on the outside of the tackle play is awesome. Allows enough time for a hole to open up so Malik can explode through. DB 41 Bearden 21" I believe that Swafford was hurt throughout the game and was used sparingly because of that.
  5. Just a few observations and comments. First, Foreman gets plenty of touches, guys. He goes both ways and was noticeably winded several times Friday night. Besides that, he's tough but not very big.....constant pounding will not help. He's got to get plenty of help to ease his burden. GC knows all of this and tries to mix it up. Second, we need a healthy Swafford to advance. Anyone at the game knows he was not at full speed from the opening snap. The fact that he competed as much as he did is a credit to this young man. Third, the best solution to the conference/competition/regular season problem is obvious. Since D-B and SH are the only two 6A schools in the area, put them in a conference by themselves and let them play each other 6 or 7 times each year. And that's all I've got to say about that.
