i dont see the big issue with GHS coaches wanting the best kids in the county on their team. They are competing for state titles, while the rest of the schools in Greene county are competing for county titles...that's not a knock or slight of the county schools either, I pull for ALL Greene county teams when they play outside the county. The same thing happens in sullivan county ( DB ), Blount County ( Alcoa and Mary.) and in Sevier County. I guarantee you if Jefferson county had more than one HS they would be doing it too. It's not like Greenevilles coaches are trying to get kids from California to move here and play. Again, I'm not slighting the county schools teams, I just think it only makes sense to try to get the best athletes in the county to come to your school ( no matter where you coach). Can you imagine if there were only one HS in greene county?

he will run hard, fight hard and play his heart out in this one. You just KNOW he feels like he has something to prove and doing it against his biggest county opponent, Dalton wants big stuff in this one....that said, I'm going with 75 yards on 28 carries.

thanks alot GDF...I was up til 5 am editing and piecing this one together. I had a ton of footage and after getting it all peiced, edited and uploaded to youtube, it got denied...i had went 49 seconds over the youtube time limit...LOL...had to go back and edit out some stuff and "try again". There was tons of good stuff i wanted to put up and I considered a part 2, but I think I will leave it as is. Time to move on to the next hurdle. I'm very interested to see how GHS does this friday at stopping the Boles kid at West Greene. He's on pace and has an outside shot at getting close to the state rushing record. I beleive however, the Greeneville game will be the undoing of any shot he has at the record. He's been piling up several 200+ yard games and one 330+ yarder against some lesser talented D's so far. Not sure about the exact number, but through 6 games, I beleive he has around 1600. someone correct me on that if you know the exact total. Should be fun to watch this friday.

Thanks Pep, i greatly appreciatte the compliment. I do this for fun, but to be honest, would love to get back into radio. I use to work for WGRV about 9 years ago. I got myself into a little trouble and as a result, Ron (station owner and voice of the Greene Devils) had to let me go. Totally understandable on his part. As someone in the public eye at the time, I understood his decision. Unfortunately, in a small town, its sometimes hard to get a second chance. I see Ron at the games and in town occasionally and he's always cordial and polite to me. To this day, i still respect his decision, but would love a second chance somewhere. Until then, I'll just continue to do this stuff for fun and maybe some day the right situation will come along. I have a ton of support from alot of people in Greeneville and from the faculty at GHS for what i do and THAT makes it all worth my efforts. Not to mention the joy i get just from getting to know these kids and coaches. I cant say enough good things about them. Caine is an incredible coach and mentor for these kids and if they all listen up, they're going to take some great life lessons out of their time with him and his staff. i agree, especially with this bunch. There's a few kids on this particular squad that just love to lay the wood...Hope all is well up that way....Had an " 11th " birthday here last sunday...they grow up fast dont they?

you know, i think too that sometimes fans even forget the true meaning of "respect"....that word always makes me think of a great line from the movie " a bronx tale "..............." is it better to feared, or respected "? I suppose the answer lies within the situation. as far as Greeneville Football, I think the players, coaches and some fans have just felt slighted because of the schedule we are dealt. If this season doesnt show that the " Caine Train " is willing to hop on any track and roll, then why even bother worrying about respect...I'll say this for myself and that question.... I think most teams generally "fear" alcoa when they meet up....fair to say?..I've always respected your program, see my video for reference.

Alcoa IS what we aspire to be. anyone who doesnt respect them is quite simply out of place.

you as well sir. your boys were as respectful and polite in defeat as ours were in victory. I was impressed beyond words really at both of these sets of kids. G'ville for not "gloating", where as some would and the alcoa kids....you can tell they've been coached and mentored well. Those kids were in very unfamiliar territory tonight getting it handed to them like that and every kid i spoke to after the game was a champion in the truest sense of the word. As for you sir, as I told you on that field tonight, best of luck to you and yours and I fully expect to see you guys tote another Gold Ball back to Blount county in December. I'm already exited for the return visit next season. Glad to see you made it home safely. Maybe we'll play on the same day in cookeville this december, if we're both fortunate enough to return.

thanks very much. im certainly not a pro at this and i dont make a nickel doing it. Its all for fun for me and for the kids and coaches. They work very hard ( as does every other HS team ) and i enjoy putting them out there for people to see. ive cut way down on my own personal commentary on my vids for them this season because sometimes my mouth gets going and my brain cant seem to catch up and stop the train....hahaha....i will do my best to get as much as i can cram in to 16 minutes of video..that's all youtube allows without being partnered, and ive turned down their partership offer, so as not to be censored...again, thanks very much for the kind words

brick oven i beleive is closed now..give the little chicago eatery next to where brick was a shot...not bad at all....my final thoughts on this game and prediction......Gona be a bruise fest..lots of sore kids saturday morning and i can not pick against my devils, even if they were playing florida...... DEVILS 26 (4 field goals and 2 tds) alcoa 21 everyone have fun, enjoy the game and play nice...GO DEVILS!!!!

yah, it's quite possible i have you confused with someone else...theres a fella i see at the flea market sometimes and ive seen him at practice once....we were chatting with the big greeneville D'lineman that was out the first few games....you arent that guy are you?

i usually see you down there with a good seat...didnt see you at the SG game...yah, i'll be there and set up by 530 this week...gona get out into the crowd for a few before the game this time, get some predictions...should be a great game...i wish alcoa was at full strength..i cant think of a better measuring stick....win or lose, we will win out after this game, then we'll see what happens in the playoffs....i think another state title is still possible, but it will depend on where rounds 3 and 4 are played.

Ok, FINALLY, i've made it back here. Been a very hectic, busy type past few weeks. sorry bout that barb. My plan was to video every GHS game this year except for Grainger. ( i'll be in Tuscaloosa that weekend) but last week was a hellacious week for me physically, mentally and daughterly..lol...i plan to be with the boys in Franklin County if Coach B has room on the bus. Im looking forward to seeing how much progress the boys make in these next 2 weeks. Another big challenge lies ahead for our kids...GO BIG GREENE>

actually, yes, his name is Xzavier Goode and about this time Next year everyone in NETENN will know exactly who he is..in fact, probably later this year, when we get thru this brutal first half schedule, he'll see plenty of mop up duty to get ready for next year. ( ok, so he's not related to willie, and probably not gona be in the same stratosphere either, but he's "goode" enough that he'll be running around, thru and over the competition)..Barb, I dont see how you've stayed on here as long as you have dealing with all these wise-**ses on here....on a side note rock, where did that qb Giles county have end up playing at? I thought for sure he would be a D1 prospect ( that was a serious, legit question, no sarcasm at all)

thanks, she is fine now. as little ones often do, she gave us a bit of a scare, but in the end, she's fine and already back to her daddy tormenting ways.....as for arrogant greeneville fans...i cant speak to or for all Devil fans, but i know myself try to " do unto others "...if it's given to me, i give back, but generally, i keep it football and leave the arrogance and taunting to those who do so. Mo. West has been a thorn in GHS' side pretty much forever...in fact they are one of few teams with a winning record against the Devils and tonight, from what i could tell on the radio, basically just manhandled what I thought was a pretty physical Greeneville team last week. MoWest is always gona have more numbers and apparently this year they are quite large, based on the way the radio crew described them. the total yardage in this game tells the tale. Best of luck to the Trojans the rest of the way.

well said my man....sorry i wasnt at the game tonight, ive had a crap week..daughter was in the hospital for 3 days, i have a freakin abcess in one of the few teeth i have left...LMAO....and now tonight...WOW....still cant wait for Franklin county, then we get a breather against South Greene before the epic ALCOA game we've all waited for. We def. need to get healthy before that one, or it could be an ugly night. much like greenedevils fan said, GHS had a shot at putting this one away in the second quarter, but soph zack finchum over threw a wide open reciever and was picked....SH took it down field and scored and the complexion of the game changed...Greeneville actually " MANHANDLED " SH up front on both sides. ( i used manhandled because i saw a SH fan earlier in this thread say that SH would manhandle GSH based on GHS's scrimmage vs DB.) total yardage i beleive was in the neigborhood of 350 for greeneville and 160 or so for SH...Best of luck to science hill the rest of the way....oh, was anyone else puzzled at Stacey Carters decision to just let the clock run out at the end? He had 2 t.o's when ghs got the ball with 3 mins left and never called a timeout..and from the 1 minute on, the clock basically ran continuously...granted, GHS had the ball deep in SH territory, but to me, that sends a bad message to his team.

i'm ok with it. i just dont post them on here myself because last year someone on volnation asked me to post one of my vids on there and when i did i got accused of " self promotion ". I make the Greeneville vids because last year someone in florida asked me to, so they could keep up with the Devils. As long as it doesnt violate any board regulations, post away....and yah, youtube isnt doing me any favors lately...haha

actually, i dont think you heard what i was saying at all if you think im making excuses for greeneville...quite the contrary in fact. Let me put it the way i should have in the first place. I think what possibly happened was the greeneville kids thought they were gona just show up and show DB whats what and when it happened the other way around, GHS's kids could not and did not respond accordingly and as a result, got their butts handed to them on a maroon and white platter, with a feathered spear topping!! that's what i really think happened. the only experimenting going on out there was an experiment in how to eat a little humble pie and i would bet the farm that Ballard and his staff make D*** sure their kids dont make that same mistake again...in simple, good ole Greene county terminology, the Greene Devils got took behind the woodshed and wore out with one of papaws finest switches.

I'll take this one.....what do i think about DB compaired to Maryville?? It's just a scrimmage *wink*..i dont think Maryville was as eager to get after GHS as DB was..that was apparent from the outset. The lineplay was simply awful on both sides for GHS ( assuming our D line is supposed to be one of the best in the state...) i know malone's out, but I dont think it would have mattered tonight. The honest truth of the matter is it just looked like the DB kids were ready for this and the GHS kids werent, which to me is mind boggling....good luck to both when it counts. would like to see more Gold balls brought back to NET
