  1. Should be a great game between two big time rivals, DCA has 12-13 seniors and is primed for a great season. Goodpasture dominated this game for years and is now on their way back from some tough seasons like they hadn't seen in a while, especially while Coach Martin was there. I think it's generally agreed that Jeremy Worden is the fastest to have ever played at DCA, certainly not as big as backs as Lyons or Edwards but faster.
  2. Having seen both play this year, my thoughts on "the dropdown bowl". BGA has a chance for the upset (let's face it, that's saying something, few other teams in our division would have a chance). if they can find a way to slow Webbs potent offense they (BGA) has the skill position guys to give Webb loads of trouble. Tall and fast, if used correctly, they will score plenty of points. Would be interesting to see what would happen if BGA somehow got out to a quick lead as Webbs O doesn't appear to be much of a passing attack. If Webb can control the clock and rely on their line to pound the ball then BGA could be in trouble. On the surface this looks like a close game.
  3. BGA vs DCA passing game stats comparison: BGA QB 74-129 13 td's 9 int 1096 yds / QB nominated for back of the year DCA QB 84-114 7 td's 4 int 982 yds / passing game has been described as "struggling at best", "not what DCA fans have been accustomed to in the last 9-10 years" Edge would seem to go to BGA, for those in the know, how would you compare these two teams run game and defense?
  4. Don't see BGA by 30 over DCA, guess anything could happen but don't see it.
  5. PC, I agree to chalk this up to a misunderstanding. I sincerely have no idea about belittling a 13 year old soccer player, I would never do that (kinda been the point I have been trying to make all along) I completely agree and have never disputed that the QB did not have a good game, I simply stated that the entire team didn't have a good game and I truly believe that. I believe one could point to many plays in that game where they were not run sucessfully, including the ones you mentioned, and it would be unfair to point the finger at any one player. This is all I was trying to state, sorry if it came across differently. We will have a tough playoff game this Friday, here's hoping all phases of the team play well so the Cats can bring home a victory.
  6. No more time will be wasted with this, you know what you said, anyone that can read can clearly see what you were saying. Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder can see it, but please feel free to continue to deny. My assertion is that High School kids do not deserve to be called out or singled out on these boards, to say that the pass game is struggling would be benign in my opinion, to state that it's the QB's fault (exactly what you did) is not. Lastly, I am not particularly close to this, just don't like what you did.
  7. I asolutely agree that those two games were sub par but for the entire team, in all phases, anybody that saw those games would most likely agree. It does seem that your post was mainly negative towards the QB of the team, sorry if you can't see or admit that. I know you are a scccer guy and that's great but from my view point in those two games no facet of our team was working well, do you not agree? Am I missing something? You state all our injury issues, you state the drops, but then you basically blame our passing game and/or QB. I am stating fact, not opinion. Apparently you believe that our QB or passing game is the weakness that was exposed in those two games? How do you come about those deductions using facts, because I can use facts to show that all phases of our team simply did not have their best games for whatever reason. Don'r forget what I initially said, you have voiced your displeasure several times on the sidelines this year towards our QB / passing game. Deny if you want, but you have. Completely agree with TNHSfan, really was like someone else playing for both teams that night. I'd bet both had their worst games of the year that night, would be great to see em play again!
  8. Go back and read your post, it appears that you did bash the kid. Another poster then mentions how DCA's pass offense is suspect at best (prior to the Davidson game) I'd bet Davidson wouldn't say that. It's actually been a bright spot for the team this year. The offensive line and receivers have played very well and the QB has been fairly accurate so far. In fact, according to the Tennessean this Friday they are completing passes at over 70% on the year, not bad at all for a suspect passing game. The FCS game was sloppy on both sides, would be good to see a rematch with both sides playing their best.
  9. Offense has struggled the last two weeks it seems, lots of injuries combined with step up in competition. FCS deserves credit for the win, played better when it counted. Here's hoping the Cats can get healthier and back in sync when Davidson comes to town next Friday
  10. So according to playerscoach, DCA has 3 lineman out, several top backs hurt causing a weak run game, issues with catching the ball, but the QB cost the game with poor play? You've had several issues with the QB this year it seems, kid is a high school player, probably not deserving of your negative posts.
  11. Thanks Termite, had heard he was a fantastic baseball player (pitcher?). Didn't think he left for DCA until just a few weeks ago. Haven't seen him at QB, would he have been the starter for the OWLS if he hadn't left?
  12. Don't think he's playing QB at DCA (maybe due to injury, not sure on that)believe he plays in secondary maybe safety and also WR or RB. Had heard at one time that he may have been line to start at QB for Smith County?
  13. They scrimmaged several hours this past Tuesday evening
  14. Got to see Smith Cty vs DCA a few days ago, Smith Cty looks ready to go! Good skill guys, very good line, they have a number 86 that's a beast. Got a feeling they'll be tough to handle this year.
