  1. Big game in District 10-AAA. Predictions?
  2. Central has a solid coaching staff. Tomlinson is a coach players like, and had success as OC at Creek Wood. The problem with Central is inexperience. This team is very young on both sides of the ball. They don't have the talent as the upper echelon of the district does, but if you have seen the way Central plays, they play hard from start to finish. Also, look at the teams they have played so far: Clarksville Academy, Harpeth, Camden, Hickman, and Fairview. Those teams are combined 18-5, so it's not like they've had easy games. They have Waverly, Stewart, Creek Wood, East Hickman, and Lewis remaining. Those five teams are a combined 12-9. Definitely an easier second half. I think two or three of those match-ups are winnable for Central. We'll see.
  3. Lewis Stewart Fairview Montgomery Central Huntington
  4. I'm taking Stewart County 23-16. Finley has done an excellent job in his first season as the Rebel coach, and even though his team doesn't have a ton of experience, they have adjusted to his hard-nosed style. Even though Spence at Creek Wood has more reps at QB than SC's Wienk, I give the edge to Wienk. He makes his share of mistakes, but has talent around him to help lead this offense. As far as Creek Wood's OL, they will need to play well to open up holes for Tummins to run the football. Stewart County's defense has allowed 16+ points once this season, and that was against powerhouse Fairview. The key to the game will be line play. One other note on Finley: he knows this Creek Wood team well after playing against them in his time at Cheatham. I don't see the Rebels losing on their homecoming.
  5. Nobody is talking about the Clarksville-Goodpasture game, so I'll be the first. What a game. Goodpasture won 22-21, and yes they went for two instead of kicking an extra point to tie the game. Clarksville took their first lead of the game with just over a minute remaining, but Goodpasture converted a long slant play that went for six. After GP got the two point conversation, CHS drove down into the red zone and looked to set up for a field goal attempt. However, when trying to align in the center of the field, the snap was muffed and GP recovered. Heartbreaker for Clarksville fans.
  6. Clarksville Academy defeated Creek Wood 16-7, but the game was lopsided. Creek Wood's only score of the game happened in the final seconds of a two 12 minute quarter game. Maybe it's just me, but Clarksville Academy looked pretty small from my vantage point. They ran a unique mix of plays on offense (screens, option reads), and moved the ball pretty easily on a poor Creek Wood defense. #44 appears to be their do-everything type of player. He lined up in the slot a lot on offense, and had a pick six in the second half. The two backs are quick out of the back field, and the quarterback play was solid. Creek Wood's first unit only had one first down, and never crossed mid-field. You can say that CA's D played well, but Creek Wood's O was ugly. Clarksville Academy opens up with Montgomery Central this Thursday at home.
  7. Good point howdoitknow. Maplewood is the favorite in the game, but Creek Wood should be ready to play on Friday night. I've heard MW has speed so it may come down to the defenses and who will shut down the oppostition's offense. Go Creek Wood!
  8. Thoughts on this District 11-AA rivalry game to close out the season? Here are the playoff scenarios for the district teams: If Camden beats Creek Wood they are District Champions; Harpeth would be #2 If Harpeth beats Cheatham County and Creek Wood beats Camden then Harpeth is District Champions; Creek Wood would be #2 If Cheatham County beats Harpeth and Creek Wood beats Camden then Creek Wood is District Champions; Camden would be #2
  9. Hate to say it, but congrats to Harpeth. Bottom line is they showed up to play last night and CW didn't. CW now gets a much needed week off from play.
  10. Yeah, I agree howdoitknow. CW put up 42 against Greenbrier last game and I expect a high scoring game as well. Lee is really starting to progress as a QB being in his second year as the starter. This game could come down to whichever defense steps up. I'll say Creek Wood gets another road win, 34-27.
  11. Thoughts on this District 11-AA rivalry game for Friday night? Each year it is a competitive game.
  12. Harpeth def. Summit(Summit competed in their first ever football game with only freshmen and sophemores on the roster.) Don't know about the SC-LC game. Fairview def. Dickson 20-0 Creek Wood and East Hickman tied 14-14 after a EH late comeback
  13. Looked good last Friday night against two upper-class teams in Clarksville and Lawrence. Creek Wood will host its annual jamboree this Friday.
  14. Creek Wood and Dickson county will continue their in-county rivalry on Friday, the 19th @ The Wood.
