  1. It might not be a question of who the school will consider, rather who is applying. If I was well entrenched in a successful program, I would want to make sure that my success was not judged on beating one particular school or keeping up with a prior coach from decades ago. Don't get me wrong, I know they want to succeed, win, and excel as a program. As a parent, I echo that sentiment, however, the more I look at the Div.II picture, the road to victory seems to be a pretty complex formula. .
  2. Didn't BA just win the Div II State in both boys track and cross country? Doesn't seem to be a problem there.
  3. Lots of reference to the 80's. Things were definitely different. Let me see if I can get this link to work... http://www.hsfdatabase.com/tn_ba1970.htm
  4. Excellent point about the half. I have noticed that the floodgates usually open after the half with ENS, usually in the first few minutes. I don't know if ENS makes some adjustments or if the opposing team is not quite as fired up after sitting around in the cold for 15 minutes. Come out after the half at anything less than 110%, and he has the potential to put 21 points into you in a quarter. Could Baylor do it again?, absolutely as they have the defensive line to stop him at the line of scrimmage. Should be a great game, look forward to it Thursday.
  5. Attendance has been pretty good and up from last year at BA. JPII was low but other than that we have been pretty full.
  6. I am definitely going to go with Baylor on this one. There is no way the travel time helps you in anyway. Secondly, it will hard for CB to put two games together with the intensity they played us (BA). I wish both teams luck and congratulate you both on making it this far in the bracket.

    MBA vs Baylor

MBA could have easily won that game. Great effort by both teams. The pipeline at MBA looks really strong, especially that 9th grade group. Good luck Baylor the rest of the way.
  8. when I played in high school a 5-4 season was huge, after all it was a winning season. we had our victory dinner at shakeys in green hills. 9 wins would have been the catalyst for some type of monument. when 9 wins is not enough our priorities are suspect.
  9. Totally agree on considering a new OC. If it were up to me I would bring in someone outside of Middle TN.
  10. The funny thing is when you look back at the post after the BA/MBA game the post were much different. Would you consider BA beating a #1 ranked Baylor a big game? I totally accepted the losses against ENS and Trinity. I don't know if anyone can catch Elder thus ENS is my hands down pick for the state. ENS will probably be a tad better and Elder will probably be faster in 2012. BA absolutely had a bad game in Memphis (I am with you on the 12 men on the field). I was sitting here at my computer in disbelief but you know what, it happens just like it happened to ENS at Baylor. BA finishes 9-3......not bad especially considering they threw in the best team in the nation to start off the season.
  11. [To me, CBHS was fired up and ready to play. Anyway you look at it, when BA plays at any given school, the game is a big deal and a lot of teams probably have the attitude that they have nothing to lose. Sometimes that mantra works which is what happened last night. BA team really did not look into the game i.e. they just did not seem to be fired up about the whole scenario until the last quarter. The time in the third quarter evaporated in what seemed like seconds with CB's first downs and clock management. By the time the offense started to fire it was simply too late. From a coaching standpoint, I never compare coaches without looking at the whole picture i.e.. financial commitment from the school, or how much a school has to spend on a program and what are its resources. Hats off to CBHS as they played great with one heck of an effort from their offensive line. I would to see them, as well as MUS, progress in the coming weeks.
  12. I would certainly hope that the TSSAA would grant permission for these two upcoming games in Memphis. Its not like attendance will suffer with an online presence. The people that are going to make drive are going to do it regardless. We need you guys in Memphis to come through for us on the feed. I remember when BA played MUS in Mem. the feed and camera work was the best I had seen.

    MBA vs Baylor

Personally, I think this is one our best spots on the bracket for an upset. MBA might be getting it together. Question, during the playoffs, do they bring officials in from another city or are they local? Does TSSAA change things for the playoffs?
  14. Is there any chance for a BA/CBHS broadcast online, tv, anywhere. Audio feed of any sort?
  15. I totally agree that a Baylor/Ens final is highly probable. However, to roll into a game against BA thinking they are just a speed bump on the road to the state would be a mistake. I would consider the victory against Baylor "big game".
  16. For BA beat to beat Baylor in Chattanooga, for a second time, would be pretty hard. However, BA has the potential to beat anybody in Div II, including ENS if they were having a good night. Baylors win against ENS earlier this season showed what could happen if a team was on while the other was having a bad night. There is still a lot of football to be played and anything could happen. I think a huge upset lurks somewhere in these brackets.
  17. For what ever its worth, Trinity has just moved up to the #1 team in the entire US.
  18. You guys are jumping ahead. I was talking about the BGA/McCallie game. One game at a time.
  19. BGA over McCallie, first round.
  20. After watching both teams in person this season, I would go with BGA

    BA VS ENSWORTH

If my calculations are correct, BA has averaged 32 points a game to Ensworths 36. Let switch out one of ENS early season games with quick trip to Louisville to play Trinity and we would probably be close to even. BA has an explosive offensive that has proven to be very tough to handle. Most all of these teams in Div II can give you a run for your money on any given night. I don't take any of them for granted thus a run of 7 consecutive wins should be commended.

    BA VS ENSWORTH

Take Trinity out of the schedule, we would have the same record as ENS. Trinity is now 8-0 and has scored a staggering 368 points. BA has had an excellent season so far and will be in contention for a state championship. Ill take it.

    BA VS ENSWORTH

I remember watching the Baylor/ENS game online and seeing how vulnerable the tigers could be against a strong team. BA then turns around and beats Baylor. ENS will also have to deal with BA's defensive secondary which is so incredibly fast . Slight edge BA. Should be a great game.
  24. Final, BA 31-10 but it sure as heck was not easy. Ryan played hard and made us work for it. Absolute army of fans....huge crowd. Will have to tighten up to beat ENS.
