I agree, I believe Waverly and Harpeth are playing the best ball at the moment. I wish they were not meeting in the semifinals though. Waverly matches up poorly with Harpeth.. hence the only team they did not beat during regular season.

Predictions for tonight? Does anyone see any upsets? I am taking the top seeds in all four games with the Waverly-MC and CW-Sycamore games being the closest. I have said all year I wouldn't want to play MC come tournament time.

Funny thing is, Bledsoe's dad is the coach. But I don't think he is a bad coach at all. Fairview's nerves completely blew up in the game last night and they completely lost their composure once they realized they could lose the game. It was a very interesting game in the fact that Waverly had so many turnovers and still managed to pull out the upset in double overtime. Bledsoe really stepped up and held his composure as he had to basically take on Waverly single-handedly in OT. I wouldn't call Bledsoe or Johnson dirty players though, but the others yes. If Fairview wasn't so slap happy they would have won this game. But no, I don't think Fairviews style of play has been coached, the coaches son is one of the classiest players in the district.

And especially hard to beat a team on a Friday and turn around and beat them again on a Monday. This was unfortunate for Fairview. Props to Drew Bledsoe, he played his heart out. I believe he was the only starter left in the game during the second overtime... the other starters had fouled out. Nonetheless.. Way to pull it out Waverly.. good luck the rest of the way.

If Harpeth defeats Creek Wood, which is likely they will get the 2 seed because they swept Waverly. Right? If Creek Wood Beats Harpeth there will be a coin toss between Creek Wood and Waverly for the 2 seed, because they split and they each beat Cheatham once. If Waverly loses, the winner of the Creek Wood/Harpeth game takes the 2 seed. And then same scenario as above for a tie for the third seed. If Sycamore beats Cheatham there could be a three-way tie for 3 seed if Waverly loses. Creek Wood

McEwen is a step above the rest of 10A. My fear is that McEwen's schedule was not competitive enough to compete with 9A. They are lacking in tight game situation experience. McEwen needs to focus on winning the district first and foremost. The number one is seed is going to be key in their longevity. Will be very interesting to see what kind of run they make.. they have the components if they will get the mindset.

Creek Wood really impressed me last night at Waverly. They are leaps above the rest of the district. Can they beat the two seed from 12AA? Hope so.

This is my prediction for how the district is going to end up.. There are sooo many possibilities it would be hard to predict anything though. The only seed that is locked in is #8 by Fairview. 1. Cheatham (11-3) I say Cheatham loses one of their last three games and Waverly is most capable of beating them. There last meeting went into OT. 2. Harpeth (9-5) Harpeth swept Waverly so they take the number two spot. Harpeth is playing well at this time. 3. Waverly (9-5) Waverly has gained a lot of confidence throughout the season. The win agaisnt CW is a good momentum builder. 4. Creek Wood (8-6) Creek Wood is not playing their best.. They will pick it up tremendously in the tourneys. 5. Sycamore (7-7) I think Sycamore loses out down the stretch, this a reoccuring behavior. 6. Mont Central (6-8) I would not want to play MC in the tourneys. 7. Stewart Co. (4-10) 8. Fairview (2-12) Which four teams deserve to represent 11AA at regions??? predictions?

Good analysis, but Waverly and Harpeth were the top two teams in the district in 2001-2002. Waverly lost to Marshall county in the regionals in double overtime. That was also when Josh Goodwin was a Senior for Harpeth.

I would not want to play any of these teams come tournament time. 11AA hasn't been this tight in the past decade. I don't think the seeding is going to matter very much either. This district is all about matchups. Some teams just don't match up well agaisnt other teams. Inconsistancy is a killer. With the exception of Cheatham and maybe Creek Wood, you never know if the good or bad version of the team comes to play on any given night. I hope the final four can overcome this during regions.

I agree as well. Not only is the district considerably weak compared to years past, but also each team is completely inconsistent. I have never seen so much overlap in wins and loses. (girls and boys). There isn't even a thread for 11AA girls' teams, which has never been the case in years past. Guess there is nothing to talk about.

That's what I was thinking.. This is the first time Sycamore has ever beaten Harpeth.. Since 1999 right?
