I agree...Richland has got to play well to prove they are a top team in their district. Summertown is a perennial power. I feel Richland will play the Eagles close and may be able to pull out the upset! GO RAIDERS!! BEAT THE EAGLES!!

I know that Summertown is a solid team, but Richland's youth movement should be able to hang with the Eagles. What does everyone else believe?? GO LADY RAIDERS!!

I know how good Summertown is from outside, but how fast are they, do they get up and down the floor on offense and defense? Richland has changed their game plan since last year and has increased their speed. They are always tough defensively. how will this game turn out?? GO RAIDERS!!

To me this game will depend totally on the D-Line and Secondary of the Raiders. If they can play hard nosed defense, stay away from the big plays, and win the turnover battle, they will win this game. Sounds familiar huh? They did this last week and relied heavily on their running game to bring down the Indians. If the Richland Defense holds and the running game hits on some big plays, this may be another Raider upset. If they don't hold up and get away from their power attack, they will fall to a good Camden team!! Richland - - 18 Camden - - 14 GO RAIDERS!! COME HOME WINNERS!! WE'LL ALL BE WAITING!!

I would think that both Newton and Pierce would get some playing time. With Vaughn out, the Raiders will have to really on their young guards to give help. GO LADY RAIDERS!!! BACK-TO-BACK!!

I see this being another good game. If the Raiders can once again create some turnovers and stay away from the big play, they will come away on top and take one more step towards the Championship. Richland needs to stay focused and not let last week finish them off. Big Win could equal Big Letdown. LET'S GO RAIDERS!!! BRING HOME ANOTHER VICTORY!!

I agree. I believe Richland has the best sophmores and freshmen. Glidden has a shot at being the District MVP along with her freshman counterpart Jasmine Duke. I believe that Richland could have the best team in this district for three or four years to come.

Yea Richland is in Middle TN, about 30 minutes from Lewisburg. Again GO RAIDERS!!!! You guys played an awesome game last night... Can't wait to go support you Friday!!!! It goes to show you should never doubt the underdog!!! Big upset!!!!

I told you if Richland could force the turnovers and avoid the big play, they would win. Also Dias is an underrated running back that may start getting some attention as a sophmore. GREAT JOB RAIDERS!!! TAKE DOWN CAMDEN!!

If Richland can stay away from the big plays and create some turnovers, their defense maybe able to create some scoring chances for their offense. I know East won their Region and they have some tough RBs; however, some of you maybe forgetting about Richland... RBs: Dias...15th in the state in rushing (all classes) not very many TDs because they go away from him at the goal line. Defense: Ingram...leads state in take aways...6 INTs and 3 fumbles...a bit arrogant but gets the job done. If Richland can win the turnover battle and not get beat with long runs they could pull a BIG upset!! GO RAIDERS!!! 1ST PLAYOFF GAME IN YEARS!!

I have recently been corrected. It appears that I have recently left off an up and coming Freshman for the Richland Raiders. Morgan Newton is a threat from the outside. With a little indecisiveness, she is back playing ball. She as well as the other three freshmen, I believe Richland will have a solid core for the next four years. GO LADY RAIDERS!!! BACK TO BACK CHAMPS!!!

Could we quit talking about coaches' families, fiances, etc...This post was put together for the athletes and their teams, not for the coaches and their families. Let's get back to the matter at hand. BASKETBALL Everyone has made some good points. I think this will be a very exciting year. No one will go undefeated but this district may be coming around to hang with the other District (12A) and Mt. Pleasant, Summertown, Perry Co., and Wayne Co. Good luck to all teams and... I know that East Robertson won their region and beat some really goo teams; however, Richland is not a bad team. They have beaten some good teams and played the top teams to close games. They have a strong defense and if the offense can find a spark and stick with it, it could be an upset in the making. I believe it will be close until the end. East Robertson 35 - - Richland 21 If East is sloppy and Richland is smooth...RHS 26 - - ERHS 21

I will agree with you two. Culleoka has some solid players around a stand out. Vasak, Dungy, and Blocker allow Mario the freedom to play. However, a quick team may create problems for two of those three because they are a little bit big and may struggle when guarding more athletic teams.

Not really...all of the guys have vastly improved. I think they will be very deep. They have three solid seniors, a couple of talented juniors, a core of unbelievable sophmores, and some diaper dandies! This will be the year Richland makes some noise. I believe it will be Richland and Cully because, Vasek and Mario could create problems!

You are exactly right!! They have the talent to make some noise, but its up to the players to show it off. It's about pride!! About summer camps, it shows a sense of dedication and hard work. They didn't have their best but it is a time to develop and make progress. They won 5 games last year, having a good summer shows improvement. JUST BEWARE OF THE RAIDERS!!

The Richland Raiders will be one of the top 2 teams in the District. They have a lot of speed, talent, and defense, one element most schools lack. If the players will listen to Coach Miller and he allows them to run the floor. I guess the Raiders will be overlooked by most of the teams. They defeated Moore Co. by 10+ at camp, Cornersville by 20+, Santa Fe by 10+ in their 4th game that day. With that, the Raiders would finish 4th if not higher. It's amazing what people who quit say about a team and its coach when they have no idea about the situation!! (sharpie4014)

I don't believe the top 3 are set in stone. I do know that Richland has lost some key units; however, they return Glidden, Vaughn (if knee heels), and have a freshman class that will impact the team immediately. Duke, Pierce, and Wallace could surprise alot of teams with their talent. Santa Fe could slip in to the top 3. This is the most undecided I have ever seen this district! Good Luck to ALL!! I had no idea that Coach Miller and Ryan were related. Coach Miller is alot older than I thought. How did you find that out Sharpie 4014. As I said before, sleep on the Richland Raiders all you want. These aren't the same ole sit back and watch Raiders... They are here to bring in a Championship!! Don't forget...Tourney's at Richland this year also!!! I believe that it may be Moore Co. and Cornersville at the top duking it out at the end, but don't sleep on the Lady Raiders of Richland they could surprise the top two. As for the rest of the group, I agree throw them in a hat and randomly draw the winners. Go Lady Raiders!! Richland Basketball is ALIVE AND KICKING TAIL!!!

You have to remember too, that Richland had a new coach in Miller last season. All of his talent is buying into his system and these are not the Raiders of old, but a new an improved bunch that will win a whole lot more than 5 games this season. Just remember who said it first! The Raiders are coming!!

Richland played alot of freshmen last season, including point guard. Not much size but athletic, quick, and shooters. I watched alot of teams this summer, Cully and Richland are to me the top two teams. District 11A Preseason Predictions 1.) Culleoka 2.) Richland 3.) Huntland 4.) Moore Co. 5.) C.A. 6.) Santa Fe 7.) Cornersville The original 11A holds solid against the two newcomers!!

They haven't lost much. They lost David Young, Joey Small, and Daniel Laroue. They have a solid core and alot of talented youth!! I believe they may be overlooked by some!!

So you believe that C.A. will be at the top. I thought they lost all of their power. I know their P.G. is still there but who else ??

Just interested in hearing how everyone is looking this season. I have heard alot of talk about the District being down because of the loss of Chapel Hill, Eagleville, and Cascade. I think Richland and Culleoka are going to be the front runners with Moore Co. and Huntland close behind. I know Santa Fe maybe down a little, not sure on C.A. I believe Cornersville maybe cellar dwelling again. Give me your thoughts and ideas on District 11A and how it stacks up?
