Concrete tends to crack. If you know Chad isn't getting it then you know who is. Speak up all "knowing". It is easy to say who you don't "think" will get it.

The UC guy isn't even a coordinator. He shouldn't have even applied. From the people I have talked to they will hire Chad. The town/administration isnt going to allow anything less than him which would be the case hiring anyone else. Nobody has the consistent success he has had and too big of a waste to let him get away. They will be smart.

I'm pretty sure Chad can tone down his antics while still showing his enthusiasm. He is a pretty smart guy and can do what he needs to do to get it done. I don't think the players and community would support him if they didn't believe he could do it. Surely your principal won't interview all 15 people. I would say he might do 3-5 interviews. I hope things work out for you guys and you get him. When does Dresden have spring break?

Why do you guys think the process is taking so long?

The ones doing the cartwheels will be the ones that are on Dresden's schedule.

34ME...guess what...Chad is 2-1 against you guys. Bowlin's whole coaching staff is 1-2 against Chad. So you may want to backtrack on your statement. Bowlin is the offensive coordinator and head coach at UC. And his last defensive coordinator that left to go be a head coach at another school hasnt panned out too well (Gibson Co.). Chad knows how to beat UC because he has done it. UC just flat out played better last year and got on a roll. They came over to Huntingdon and beat us pretty good too and we beat them year in and year out. Coachwbd you are trying to sound convincing by saying it is in concrete that Chad isn't getting the job...if that is the case then you must be the principal of Dresden High School...which I seriously doubt. Rumors in Carroll Co. are that if Chad doesn't get the job that your QB is leaving and going to a private school or maybe even Murray...any truth to that? My son said he heard that the players won't play for another coach...sounds to me that if they don't hire Chad then whoever they do hire is going to run a playerless program. I hope your administration doesn't weaken our district. We need to get back on top of district 14A and let them know we are the top West TN district.

What makes you so sure Hodge won't get the job? The best Dresden can hope for is Hodge. The parents, players, community, and current coaching staff I would say are a bigger part of what happens there because it is their lives and kids. They shouldn't settle for just whoever. They deserve the best coach and teacher for their school. The administration knows what the best thing to do is and it is just a matter of them doing it. Once again, Huntingdon will still dominate either way.

I'm betting your principal will be smart and hire Chad. There's no way they can get a better coach or teacher than him. It would be such a bad decision to let him get away. Maybe they are just trying to figure out teaching positions and classes that will make it all work. Who are you guys scrimmaging this spring?

I would have thought with the whole community behind Chad that the administration would have simply sat down with him already and found out if they could get everything to work out. And if they couldnt that they would then start looking at other people interested in the job. Sounds like that would have saved a ton of time. The new coach is losing a ton of time with the players with this process. It could end up hurting you guys this fall. No matter though, would still lose to us.

I heard the interviews aren't until next week. So you are looking at another 2 weeks I bet. Your community still fully behind Hodge?

Do any of the other applicants have Chad's experience as an offensive and defensive coordinator? Doubt it. Do any of the other applicants have Chad's success. Seriously doubt it. Do any of them have the ability to teach what he can teach. Ha. Do any of them have the players and community behind them like he does? See a pattern here? Unless your administration is just wanting to be stubborn and purposely not give the job to him then this should have already been taken care of. I'm sure the rest of the district wants you guys to screw this one up but we don't. We love the competition here in Huntingdon. We want you guys to have good/great players with the best coach so when we beat you there is no doubt we beat a great team with a great coach. No excuses.

Only 1 of the 15 matter. Waste of time inteviewing any of the others. Dresden...you better find a way to keep Hodge. Why would any of the other applicants want to even apply after knowing the whole community wants Hodge? Your girls basketball team had a great year. I'm sure they will be good next season too.

UTM should show more interest in our kids. They could miss out on a stud here and there by shunning schools. My Mustangs along with TCA and Adamsville are going to be hard to beat on this side of the state this Fall.

34ME, that isn't all true. Many things have been blown out of proportion. Yes, Chad has made mistakes just as we all have. I'm sure you have been forgiven for things you have said or done just as Chad deserves the same. And I disagree, if our administration/school board sat down with him I bet you they would want him. I will bet you he has learned from his mistakes and will prove he is the right/only choice for Dresden. And I have seen Chad on the sideline in the 4 games (which we won all 4...HeHe) we have played them over the last 4 years and he does get worked up sometimes but I see the same thing from other coaches at all levels. I'm sure there are games he isnt even noticed. Perfection can be seeked but never obtained. I want to say that I was in no way trying to bash Coach Lampkins in a previous post. He has done a very good job at a small school. I'm sure he will continue that success at Gleason. I was simply doing a small comparison. I truly hope our district continues to be successful from the top (Huntingdon...HaHa) to whomever ends up at the bottom.

How could Lampkins be a front runner over Chad????? Just because he already teaches in the county system? Chad is 4-0 against him and Gleason has barely scored on Dresden in the last 4 years. Gleason was loaded this year and still finished 2nd to last in the district. Lampkins record vs. Huntingdon/Dresden/McKenzie is 0 wins and all loses. Chad is the best teacher they can hire. Chad has a much more impressive resume than anyone that will apply. As a coordinator Chad is 18-9 in the playoffs. Won't be anybody else that will be able to say that if they interview with your principal. Also, if Lampkins left Gleason to go to Dresden that just looks terrible. Looks like a fair weather coach. Well, if I can't beat them I will just join them. Nobody wanted this job 5 years ago when they couldn't beat anyone but now that the team has been completed turned around (in large part to Chad) now everyone wants the job. It will be a disgrace and extremely disrespectful if they don't give the job to Hodge. If yall were crazy enough not to hire Chad it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up somewhere and he came back to haunt you. Hopefully that would be here in Huntingdon.

I once again agree with Regis on his District 14A 2014 Rankings. If UC doesn't have a major injury then they will not only repeat as district champs but as state champs too. Trenton will be 9-1 or 8-2 depending on what Milan fields this year. Humboldt will be athletic enough to beat the ones below them. Lake Co. will compete but won't beat a good team. Halls will be ok. The rest of the district will struggle. 2A playoffs on this side of the state will be loaded this fall. Adamsville, Trenton, Huntingdon, Mitchell, and TCA...WOW!

I will agree with Regis. WC should have done better. They relied too much on #20 who is a very good player but football is such a team sport. They also put too much faith in that huge QB. Seriously when I saw him warming up in the game against us in Huntingdon I was like "wow". I think your schedule was way too tough to be honest. Just having to play us and Dresden and McKenzie is enough but add in that Gleason and Bruceton were good this year and our district is stacked. I looked at your nondistrict games and they are very rough too. The playoffs are based on District 1st/2nd place and overall wins. With your schedule you were in the hole to start. Could have sworn you guys had a few injuries they probably hurt too. You guys might surprise some people this year and maybe in 2 years beat us again and win the district.

Sorry to hear about one of your football family members. We will be thinking of you guys here in Huntingdon. I'm sure he and God will fight through it and will be stronger afterwards. Are you guys doing a Jamboree again? We may not have our Jamboree for the first time in a long time.

I'm not arguing with you Olddevil but that is your opinion. Titles arent everything. Chad has worked both sides of the ball with the success no one else in this area can compare. He is a special guy that someone is fixing to get. How is HC shaping up this winter/spring? I heard something about one of your coaches having a severe illness and is getting treated for it. How is he doing?

I commented on the other post about Keith leaving to go to Murray. From what we are hearing here in Huntingdon it sounds like the whole community is behind Chad. That sounds good. But like I said on the other topic...do people realize Chad's offensive background from Henry Co.? His offenses put up some impressive numbers. The guy has dominated on both sides of the ball as a coordinator. And I have heard so many praises on his teaching ability that it sounds to me like the administration just needs to get this hire over with as quickly as possible. Trust me, if yall don't want him we want him in Huntingdon.

I don't think people on here realize Chad's offensive background is more impressive than his defensive background. He was the offensive coordinator for years at Henry Co. before he came to Dresden and they averaged in the upper 30's and 40's and went to 3 straight semifinal games in 4A and 5A. He has developed a pretty impressive resume over the last decade. If you guys aren't smart enough to hire him as your head coach then we will take him here in Huntingdon. With him and Swenson together we might win a few State Championships in a row. Schools are going to go after him if you guys pass him up.

So who is going to take over there? Any good candidates?

Clarksville schools don't care about sports. They are at a huge disadvantage because the administration doesnt care if you win. As long as you arent causing problems they will leave you alone. The coaching pay is terrible. They don't have any fieldhouses except at Clarksville High. They don't have an athletic period during the school day. Hard to compete when you are strictly reling on athletes to win. If the Clarksville schools started doing what many other schools do with coaching pay, fieldhouses, athletic period, administrative support...they could dominate in 5A because they already have a huge pool of kids to choose from. This is never going to happen though.

Saw where Hickman Co. is looking for a new coach again. What happened?
