  1. Answered my own question (internet is a wonderful thing!) Baylor 5-0. Baylor senior night and one of them had a big night with 3 goals and an assist. Impressive!
  2. Anyone know the score of the CCS - Baylor game?
  3. Wow...nice breakdown Cannon. CoachT may have to upgrade your member status with analysis like that! Heard from another source that one side of their D was more vulnerable than the other which seems to line up with your assessment. Looking forward to the match tomorrow and confident Grace will prevail but not taking Central lightly. Good coaching up that way thx to AAA and expect they will come hard and have a thing or two up their sleeve with the district title essentially on the line. Should be fun...
  4. Wow...much closer than I thought it would be! Sounds like Central must have fought hard. Congrats to the Mermaid for stepping up. Love to hear a scouting report on Central before Thursday...
  5. Competition is fun and love to see a team and program that takes pride in themselves...but at the end of the day we're really all on the same team anyway whether we realize it or not. Iron sharpens iron so I think it's great when all strive to be worthy opponents which just makes us all sharper. The trap for all of us IMHO is when we let our teams/sports/programs/jobs or even religions become 'idols'...seem to remember some admonition against that somewhere... Anyway, welcome home Booger and blessings to all! Have a great week.
  6. Hillrider....you are right and the exchange above is merely between two Chattanoogans arguing over local bragging rights. Tullahoma does indeed deserve credit. They are a very tough physical team and made some clever runs up front to create scoring opportunities. Appears to be significant parity in their district as they seem to be just as strong as Shelbyville who lost to Cleveland 4-2 in the CCS Tourney. Think Tullahoma could have given Cleveland a run for their money and Cleveland is pretty strong right now. Will be interested to see how their post season turns out.
  7. Gee Cannonball...your chip may be even more serious than your Cannon brother...may need to see a doctor to get that removed or at least make a visit to a confessional and maybe the priest can help you with that. Go back and read the posts...there was never any comparison to ND's schedule nor anything about your mommas. Regardless, you and I both know any team is only as good as their last game and resting on past laurels or strength of schedule amounts to a whole bunch of speculation. However in the absence of any head to head competition...yet, and referring to tangible results, comparing teams both have played this year... Grace 1-0-1 ND 0-1-1 But you're probably right...Grace is just a wanna be so mind as well underestimate them...
  8. Cannon...please reach up and take that green chip of blarney stone off your shoulder. I in no way meant or implied any disrespect to ND. I was merely lobbying for some respect for Grace based on their play on the field...this year. And...I would hardly call scheduling Bradley, Soddy, CCS and Cleveland padding a schedule. Feel free to be a 'hater' but you remind me of an old proverb (not Biblical) I've always found to be true that, "harsh and bitter words indicate a weak cause." Sniff...sniff...sniff...is that some fear I smell in the ND camp??
  9. Were there PKs in the CCS-ND or CCS-Tullahoma games?? Methinks not but If there were, the games were still recorded as ties. I suspect that CCS suspended the shootout format after the Grace game when they realized they failed to notify any of the teams in the tourney ties would be decided in that manner which is apparently unique. Also...at the risk of it sounding like making 'excuses'...thought it would be interesting to point out that the Grace-Tullahoma game yesterday was Tullahoma's first of the Tourney while Grace had already played a highly contested game against CCS less than 24hrs before. By contrast, the CCS-Tullahoma game today was Tullahoma's second of the day (Played Anderson County 9am) and CCS's only game of the day. Just sayin...
  10. Haha...that's funny considering some prior posts from the Irish faithful. Looking forward to the playoffs but unless I was imagining things, I think all the games I referred to were actually played on a field and not video game simulations...

Competition definitely heating up and promising to be a fun post season... Appreciate the props for Grace and definitely love my Eaglettes but still not sure where to rank them after the tie last night to CCS. Had some sick players who appeared to be battling through mild food poisoning from suspected bad mojo in the pre-game meal and it showed. Not to take anything away from CCS, I will say they looked pretty solid top to bottom and appears they have matured quite a bit over the season. Don't count them out. Saw first half of the Cleveland game last night and they also looked pretty solid compared to when we faced them in pre-season play-day . Of course you all know they went toe to toe with MC (County) and initially beat them until losing a heart breaker on controversial TSSAA ruling. They deserve some consideration for sure. #6 and #8 up top are impressive and #14 in back solid anchor to the D. Also flying under the radar is MC (Central) who has quietly gone undefeated in district play with only regional losses to CCS and Soddy (1-0). Despite losing their 11 seniors from last years District Champion team, it appears coach M has done a solid job of training up his youngsters and tweaking his formations to find a formidable line up. Will definitely be a battle at our place next Tuesday with this years District Title on the line...
  12. Confirmed. Played to 0-0 in regulation. Tie broken by MLS type shootout which is apparently locally unique to CCS tourney. Grace coach didn't find out about it until after the game as it was about to take place and thus team had no preparation. Also heard a number of the Grace girls were battling stomach issues potentially due to pre-game meal from a sandwich shop that shall remain nameless. It was definitely evident by unusually sluggish play by some of the affected players who had to battle through it. Grace D was tested and still held solid as ever preserving another shutout. Regardless, kudos to CCS who played tough and controlled a good portion of the game with numerous shots on goal including at least 3 that were tip over saves by Grace keeper. #3 and #10 for CCS were standouts up front and in the mid-field. CCS defense was also solid and their keeper made great tip over save late in the game. She also made her own shot in the shootout while none of the Grace players were able convert any of their shootout attempts. Good test for Grace who still has more upside as they work #4 back into the offense (only her second game back seeing limited minutes following major knee surgery). Also need to get a few non-club ballers to mature further and step up their mental games. Regardless I think Grace deserves some legit respect now from the ND crowd considering... CCS 0 CCS 0 ND 0 GRACE 0 SODDY 2 GRACE 2 ND 1 SODDY 1
  13. 5:00 Manana @ CCS. Hope to see you there!
  14. Good deal. Safe trip home. Looks like the Lady Irish are peaking at the right time with the big win last night at North Red Bank so should be a great time to get to see them. Hope the lady Eagles can do the same. Took care of business last night against Sequoyah with a 5-1 win but they looked sloppy and on their heels some. That's not gonna fly against CCS Thursday so hope it was just the calm before the storm and they start bringing their A game. We will see...

Great post AAA. Totally agree. All for playing hard. Not a fan of playing dirty.
  16. Boog...if you know anyone stateside with an unlimited mobile data plan, you might be able to set up a Skype call on someone's Ipad...just a thought.
  17. Also good advice but I didn't have a Catholic School education...you learn that from a Jesuit Imam?
  18. Have to agree with Cannon and AAA...while it might be a very interesting discussion, destined to get too personal...and last thing we need in dealing with teenage girls is to create MORE drama! In the spirit of true sportsmanship, think we are better off keeping it positive and good natured...as it generally is. Without intending to get preachy, Hebrews 10:24 would be a good guide for us. "Let us consider how to stir up one another on to love and good deeds"
  19. Grace keeper is good although as a late bloomer with less than 2 years of total club ball experience she's still developing, especially with her foot skills, so in terms of overall physical ability and athleticism, maybe not as good as her cousins before her or some others. However, although I don't know too much personally about the other keepers in town, in terms of intangibles like leadership, courage, game knowledge, ability to direct and organize a defense and work ethic, she's tough to beat and I would put her up against ANYONE in regards to total team value. At least that's what some D1 schools are saying... Of course, I'm even more biased than RR and should probably recuse myself from discussing this topic any further.

Does not bode well for ND. One of the Signal Captains is deadly accurate and can place a ball just about anywhere even from long range. ND better have someone on her at all times and not allow any space to get a shot off to protect that back-up keeper. What's up with all the cards over there at ND? Didn't they have like 4 yellows the game before??

GRACE 1 BOYD 0 Too close for comfort but a good wake up call for the Lady Golden Eagles. Don't think some of them took Boyd seriously and was disappointed in some slow first steps to the ball especially in midfield. That aint gonna fly against the likes of CCS next week! Hopefully they are starting to realize that most everyone is going to try to bring their A game against them as they continue to keep winning. Credit to Boyd coach for solid game plan of packing it in on D to slow down the swarm that is Grace's young front line right now. They also came out very physical perhaps in an attempt to try to intimidate some of the younger LGEs with a cheap shot on one of our 8th graders as she finished a play earlier in the game... and then high fiving while she was down . Fortunately, she is okay and just got the wind knocked out of her. Since the officials failed to reign it in, after about the third one of those by the same Boyd player I was glad to see the Grace veterans step it up to let Boyd know they weren't havin any of that. Cost them a rare but well spent yellow card and seemed to settle things down some after. Grace D was once again very solid and continued to frustrate any offensive attacks Boyd mounted. They get leading scorer from last two seasons back Monday and she should be a nice shot in the arm as they gear up for next big test at CCS Tourney. Also not to be overlooked still on the schedule is McMinn Central who is 4-0 in district and appears to be getting better as their youngsters mature over the season under a generally well coached team. Have a great weekend yall. Eagle Out.

Two strong wills...but also big talents! If they come to play, watch out. This game will be won between the ears IMHO.

Don't see that happening. CCS tied Signal early in the season when they were still figuring things out but have been steadily improving. As long as ND youngsters don't lose their confidence, they should handle Signal...of course, Signal could also be getting it together. As I said in pre-season, they have some top notch talent and if they can get their heads right, who knows. That would certainly be interesting...
